"No, can not say anything conclusive about the bandits. But they went this way," Lindale pointed to the North-East. "We can try to move carefully and see how far the track goes." If others were ready, she would lead them where track go.
"Lead the way Lindale," Hatch said to the scout before turning once more to the plucky gnome Leewinnette. "Will you be coming with us or heading back? Either way I and my party wish to thank you for bringing us this far." He kind of wanted her to come with, but also knew she had done more than enough as a guide. It would be up to her.
Moving on under Lindales guidance the group eventually lost the trail, but found themselves deep in a steep sided gully surrounded by thick scrub on both sides.
And then Hatch noted a lump of argentite...and then another.....mined ore...that someone had dropped...
Rufus is unable to make much out and looks to the sky with a sigh, but finds a small scrap of cloth caught on the branch above him....the material is soft and almost organic to the touch...
The gully narrows towards the east, growing dark and over-grown....
Brocc would be casting guideance on those he is with as they try to find the trail, so people can add a 1d4 to their checks... Brocc stays atop his spider as they enter the ravine, eyes more on the path the spider is taking than on the tracks they are following. he is trusting the others to do the tracking, as that is defintely out of his wheelhouse.
Hatch will point out the ore and tuck it away in his pack of he can. It came from Leewinnette's mining company most likely, and he wants to return it to her.
"Well, at least we know someone is bringing mined ore into this gully. That's got mean something." Banzo looks to the foreboding east end of the gully.
"Everyone keep their eyes open."
Almost as if summoned be his words Banzo begins to see scuff marks in the ground and a small silver brooch in the shape of a forked tongue.
This is the symbol of Slangg, the god of Malice. Slangg and his sister Tanit sided with Death prior to the First Battle; because of this crime they were exiled from the Celestial Court.
Lindale:
Your breath catches in your throat...this is the symbol of Ar Anwar Gerithan, "Grey Whisperer of Shadows". Who the other peoples call Slangg. Matching this with the tracks she found Lindale becomes quite worried....The Whisperer is venerated by members of the Shaërn Kerithrion the ruling council of five that heads the Kerithrion Clan, and thus is the ultimate authority in the Dark Elven city of Tìranduil Kelthas.
Tiranduil Kelthas is known as Darkside by the other races, it lies in caverns deep beneath nearby Darkwood Forest and was the first city founded by the traitor PrinceViridel Kerithrion.
Lindale become even paler than usual and nervously rubbed forehead. She shook her head as if denying unpleasant truth but took a breath and finally said: "The tracks. They did look elven. And now that... this is the symbol of Grey Whisperer that you call Slangg. He is worshiped in Dark Elven city of Tìranduil Kelthas." She sighed "I think ... It looks like some dark elves are involved here. The true Dark Elves that followed the traitor Prince Viridel Kerithrion. We are close to their caverns under the Darkwood Forest. The city is there too."
"That does not sound good." Brocc says the thing most of the others are probably thinking. "Are we prepared to go up against a group of dark elves?" He looks to each of the others in question.

"Is there anything in that direction you know of Leewinnette?" Hatch asked
" Nope, t'aint naught out there but hills and scrub."
Brocc, atop is spider, gives a nod. "Let us continue along and see if we can track these bandits back to their hideout then." He agrees.
Rufus lost in the wilderness and wishing they were once more upon the riverboat, moves to stay with Lindale as she flourishes in her environment.

Leewinnette hesitated for a moment but then sighed, " I'd best head back."
" Try not to die!"

"Yes, and no. Depends on the size of the group, and whether we catch them up here, or have to go down under there," Hatch said.
