"Actually it may make a very big difference. Don't forget, it's miners that we are helping. If we clear out the dark elves, it would buy the miners time to collapse that tunnel. What's it matter if there's a whole city if they no longer have a route to come out of?" Hatch said.
"Rather than fight now, I say we go back to town and get Leewinnette and the other miners and prepare. Then in the morning when we have the advantage of plenty of daylight, we clear that cave quickly, make room for the miners to safely seal it up for good before the elves know that anything is up, and problem is solved. More or less anyway."
"If we're returning to the town to get miners to help seal off the cave, then we may want to undo the few traps we managed to set up. Would be bad if they stumbled into one while we're away and realize that their little exit has been found. Best they don't know we were here," Hatch said, filling in the hole from one such trap.
"Let's cover our tracks quickly and then head back to town. We'll need to strategize how to close the caves so the dark elves can't get through it again."
Lindale helped with returning everything to the way it was best she could. The idea to return was a wise one - the guys did not see those monsters inside, but she did and did not like the picture. "Ready when you are." Retreat did not need any tracking (or keeping in the gully) and they could move faster now.
“Agreed.” Brocc says, just that I did not see any reason for us to fight here nad now.” He helps to clear up the traps the others laid, then would return to town with them.
At the sight of the brawl in progress, Brocc looks aorund to see if he can spot any faces he recognizes.

Indeed, it seems most of the town are involved...though a fair few are just watching and laughing. No one seems to be taking it very seriously, though there are a fair few injured and bleeding around.
Hatch sighed and used his thaumaturgy to increase the volume of his voice as loud as he could.
"DARK ELF RAIDERS HAVE BEEN STEALING FROM YOU ALL! IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR HARD EARNED ORE STOP ALREADY!"
He was quite loud.
The fight came to a sudden stop though Leewinette got in a final uppercut to some poor fellows crotch region.
" What?", someone yelled.
" Summit about Duck Health Aids?", queried an old man.
" Nah...he said if we don' stop he's gonna take our ore.", another man said grumpily.
The dwarven woman they had seen earlier stood on top of one of the fallen combatants, " He said, you muddle-headed lagabouts, that the raids we've been having have been the work of Dark Elves!".
The street suddenly went deadly quiet and then there was a massive flurry of movement and 95% of those able to move suddenly legged it at high speed indoors of whatever building was closest and locked the door behind them.
Hatch's impressive crowd control skills cleaned up the streets faster than buckets of cold water! "Well, at least now they know what to do if someone wants to stop the brawl. Though, it seems we are on our own now with tunnel collapsing. They are so scared as if raids for new slaves happen every day here. Let's hope Leewinnette's people are more brave".
"Good work." Brocc says as the crowds disperse. "Now we have those left who are likely to be of aid in this matter, and not all of the lay-abouts." He has his spider-mount move into the village proper now. "We would like to have some of you help us put together a way to cave-in the tunnels the dark elves are using, and hope this will keep them from doing any more of these raids." He glances to those around. "Can we get a team together for this?" He asks the miners.
Hatch was surprisingly nonplussed about clearing out nearly a whole town of burly miners in two sentences. Of those miners who remained, which hopefully included Leewinnette, he said, "Me and the rest of the Heroes of Chalice will clear the cave free of the dark elves. We just need you to be able to collapse or seal it off somehow so more can't come through again. Will you help us to close this cave and hopefully put an end to the raids that have been plaguing you all?"
If Leewinnette was one of the ones who had remained, he would take out the ore he had collected that the elves had dropped and present it to her. "I do believe miss, that this may belong to you and your workers."
"Earth and stone - yes," assured miners Lindale, "tight..." she called the image of the cave in her memory - the cave did not look all that small "not sure how tight should it be, but may be we can ... how do you call it? drill? some smaller holes if needed to be?"Standing and talking was pointless anyway, miners needed to see it for themselves. So, the druid was ready to help to transport necessary equipment and get started with "cleaning up" the future work field.
"We'll lead you back there, but be aware we might need to clear out some of the bandits from the tunnel mouth, prior to having you look it over." Brocc says, making sure not to use the dark elf words this time, as he saw how it affected them earlier. He is ready to head back to the cave location when everyone is ready, but would suggest waiting till morning, as it is likely getting very late now, and daylight is a much better time to deal with dark elves in Brocc's calculations.
"I'm good to go now, but waiting for morning might be best. Especially if you need to gather up equipment and plan how best to close off the cave. If you have a map of the area we can try to show you where the cave is. It's down a gulley," Hatch said. "Could also give us time to prepare for the fight we'll have to get you access. Do you have any equipment stores here we can peruse? Weapons, armor, potions and the like?"
" We've stores....but you'll find little in the way of weapons or armour. Might be a potion at the back...we've got picks, helmets, aprons, boots and the like."
" There is a map of claims...but theres not much in the way of topography on it....sounds like this is outside the mine area anyway."

The companions gathered themselves and made their way back towards town...arriving at the outskirts there seems to be a brawl underway....

Lindale simply asked the first non-participater what is going on here.

" Fight."
" Oh, you mean why? Dunno....mining town. I'm sure somebody did summit..."
" Started on docks...then moved towards forge....seems to be winding down a bit.", the old man ducked a flying shoe.
Lindale dodged the next one as well and calmly clarified: "You mean they do it all the time?"

" Every few weeks...or so.", he nodded.

Leewinnette, the silver helmed dwarf and the severe human woman rounded up the remaining miners and roused some of the unconcious ones.
" We've enough to get it done as long as its a relatively tight space with a mix of earth and stone...."
"Earth and stone - yes," assured miners Lindale, "tight..." she called the image of the cave in her memory - the cave did not look all that small "not sure how tight should it be, but may be we can ... how do you call it? drill? some smaller holes if needed to be?"
