Brocc spends most of the time he has in the small smithy he found to rent. He performed tests on the true stone, and did some minor working with bits of it, both with his smith tools and his tinker tools. For now his trials are more to learn how to work the stone than to make anything specific. Rolls are in the OOC PM.
Brocc determines over the next few days that, theoretically, depending on the forging process used...........Truestone items can possess either the properties of Mithral or Adamantine alloys.....and, possibly with further research, perhaps both....
Though unable to actually gain much headway in making an item he does come across another curious property determining that if Truestone is used in the creation of a magical item the inherent enchantment of the material will reduce enchantment costs by 50%......though it will take a lot more trial and error to determine if that is true....
Holding off on the bag for now, Zeltheris would absolutely sign up for the competition in hopes of getting that drum and would seek out the necromancer in the meantime.
Entry fee is 1 gp and the competition will take place in two days.

Herman gets back at the Inn, willing to take part in the translation
"Moreover,
There are definitely one or two magical tatooists in Blacksand and likely someone similar amongst some of the tribal folk to the North of the Moonstone Hills.
In my opinion when we are set, we should go there, I feel it is important "
Garet had meant to go with Herman but was still a little shaken it was all he could do to complete the translation Enwynn had requested, and he also felt that somebody else in the group was bound to do better.
Turning to Herman, "I agree it would be my vote for our next expedition, I would vote for the Moonstone Hills though, there is not a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than Port Blacksand, although we should probably combine our search with investigating the reports of hill goblins raiding settlements, having been ambushed on our return to Chalice I'm eager that others do not suffer the same as us."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Enwynn silently notes the signs of stress in Garet's face, looks at his work and says "I am sorry for asking a favor of you all so soon after a grueling expedition. I will not impose on your goodwill any further than that for the moment." She away from the words to the man who painstakingly wrote them, smiles and adds "Your translation is an excellent framework that Herman and Zeltheris can expand upon, Garet. The task will be done swifter now thanks to your efforts."
She nods in agreement on the matter of the next journey to be taken and offers "The captive bandits spoke of a Black Tower. They were well equipped for roaming hill bandits. There may be others like them roaming the hills. The Darkwood hid a few that I found like them, but no large groups."
Enwynn attempts to recall any further historical details of that place, and its occupants she may have read of in her earlier research.
At the end of his time working on the true stone, Brocc is content with the progress he has made. He packs up all of his tools and makes sure not even dust remains of the true stone as he cleans the work shop. Once completely sure nothing of his work was left behind, he closes down the shop and returns his keys to the owner.
Back in the inn's common room he listens to the conversation on what they should be doing next. "I think we need to see how this dwarf king responds to the letter, but I don't see why we can't be doing something while we wait." He nods at the mention of the hills. "Seeing about those gangs of goblin bandits might not be a bad idea. We can speak with the goblin we brought back here and see what more information we can get from them. While in the hills there is that Razaak’s the Necromancer who is suppose to have a lair in the southeast of the Moonstone Hills. If we want to travel a bit further we could also check into those rumors about Zagor the Warlock, to the northeast of the Moonstones." He shrugs. "If we get anywhere near the dwarf university again, it wouldn't hurt to do some more exploring there, now that we know it is cleared of most threats. There is a decent amount left there that I wouldn't mind another run through to get some more from there, but that is not a major concern on my part."
Heading down the street and around the corner the pair turned right and started down Lion street, a row of homes and then a series of small shops on the side they were walking down and the walls of a large estate made up the other side of the street.
Scrounglys house was about four houses down before they got to the shops. It was a three story narrow residence with a high gabled roof and the front stairs went up steeply bypassing the ground floor with the entry door being on the 1st floor ( 2nd floor for US folks).
Two burly looking Man-Orc stood out the front looking terminally bored and a gilded sign was attached to the wall beside the mahogany front door reading Dr Barnell Scroungly .ThD.RM.

The Dire family the last scion of which was the warlord Balthus Dire ( architect of the Trolltooth Wars and contemporary of Zagor) who ruled from his Black Tower high upon Craggen Rock, the Tower was also known in some circles as the Citadel of Chaos both for the families use of such dark sorceries and the rumoured extradimensional inhabitants of the Tower. When Dire attempted to annex the nearby Vale of Willow the King of Salamonis dispatched a talented journeyman wizard from the College within the nearby Forest of Yore to put a stop to Dire......it seems they were successful.
Banzo nods back to the pair of Man-Orcs and introduces Zeltheris, "This is Zeltheris, a fellow member of the 'Heroes of Chalice.' He's here to discuss with your employer whether he has any wands he would like to sell, or perhaps anything else of use. Knowing both parties I decided to act as a sort of conduit or go between for them."

" The other one was prettier" ventured Nigel.
" Speak for yourself.", said Henry with a wink in Zeltheris direction.
Then he went to the door and opened it, calling within " Turtle Man is back! Wants to buy a wand or summit!"
The two were ushered inside to a highly polished drawing room.
After some very long drawn out minutes there was movement at the door and a tiny gnome barely 3 ft tall entered the room. He was stooped with age and had a deep frown on his face, dressed in rich silk robes he was flanked by two skeletons dressed rather ludicrously in matching blue silk robes.
" Your back! Located anything of interest? What sort of wand were you after? I have a limited selection."
Shalana follows the wizard to the tower for a full conversion.
Longrain Kelphead spent the better part of the morning making detailed sketches of all of Shalanas systems while lubricating, cleaning and polishing the automaton as it droned on about paradise. He then prised open the access port on the metal skull and began using delicate magical gusts of air to clean the dust, cobwebs and grit out of the crystalline matrix........as he continued cleaning Shalana found thought processes to come much easier and not only was easy of movement greatly improved but so was ease of concept and communication...
He also discovered a number of things about Shalana that he relayed to the automaton:
- there was a dial installed above the crystalline brain that read 'Proselytisation Level': the lever was currently set to 4 out of a possible 10.
"Shalana's memory leak has been fixed, however this unit does not recognise the current date. Shalana thanks Master Kelphead, when is the next service due?"
Shalana extends and contracts the various gears, motors and pistons in its hand, seemingly happy with the result of no sparks.

During his few days in Chalice, Herman is not really eager to go in crowded places like markets and all, but he decides that he must get rid of the rusted handaxes and the almost new chain shirt he had (roughly getting 12gp out of it).
He gladly visits the magic tower to dissolve the curse upon the spear. While paying his respect to the magicians for the job nicely done, he also takes a look at the magic goods they can provide. Even if he usually mistrusts the sellers, let alone the magic sellers, he comes out of the tower with a very new cloak (cloak of protection) and some potions he wanted.
He feels very satisfied with his purchases, even if deep down he fears he has been treated like a townie and robbed.
Then he takes some time in choosing a horse, safe and sound and with slender legs, if they might really travel in a few days. He spends some time in order for the animal to get accustomed to his new owner.
During the time-off, he decides to visit something strange for him: a spa, for once he liked to enjoy some treats and wellness. Of course he does not leave carnal desires aside: after some enquiries, eventually he visits a brothel but, although satisfied by the skills of the girl, he could not really feel the thrill of the hunt, it was just a service rendered. That's why in the following nights he stays with Zeltheris, above all the companions, hoping that the songs of the bard can make some girl fall in love with him.
