It'd be helpful if the character sheet could recognise when these bracers are worn&attuned and the character is equipped with armour or shield, and adjust the AC accordingly.
The bracers correctly do not apply their bonus when wearing armour, but incorrectly apply their bonus even when you use a shield, offering a higher AC than should be available.
My tortle is not wearing armour or using a shield and yet when the bracers are attuned and equipped they only give a +1 to my AC. They are still broken.
My moon druid is currently wearing these... do they boost the animal forms as well?
The PHB says this on page 67 under the Wild Shape Class Feature rules: >You choose whether your equipment falls to the ground in your space, merges into your new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal, but the DM decides whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the creature's shape and size. Your equipment doesn't change size or shape to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge with it. Equipment that merges with the form has no effect until you leave the form. Hope this helped.
Just curios... it doesn't specify, so I assume these are not specifically made of metal, right? Druid with something like a barrier tattoo can also wear these, I assume?

Correct, they could be made of leather, bone, or whatever material the crafter chose to use.
No special requirement to attune to them. The only requirement for attuning is the base shared among all attunement items- a short rest with the item in direct contact with you the entire time

I agree. It still doesn't work.
It works, you just need to attune to it. It has been working for me for a long time.
Might give it to my blade singer hexblade multiclass
You mean it still is adding the ac when it shouldn't? It's not supposed to add it when you are wearing armor

Still giving +2 to AC while the user is holding a shield.
KI
I've got Elven Chain and Bracers of Defense and they are stacking in D&DBeyond.
Soooo... this plus Mage Armor? Would that compound? Not armor or a shield.

yes, that would work

Think of Mage armour as a force field not physical armour.
What is the requirement for attuning these?

what's the cost of it?
