Tzedaka will listen quietly to the scratching noises to see if it is living or rhythmic or even undead. She will also try to determine if the passage Shalana found would be a wise choice to pursue vs the original passage with the scratching noise. (Perception or wisdom?)
Enwynn seems oddly comforted by this as she smiles even as she watches the hallways for trouble.
Banzo: " The room with the footprints is likely the dusty room we were warned of."
The elf nods in agreement.
Shalana: " This way is also an option."
Enwynn seems surprised at this development, but also curious and is about to say something when...
Tzedaka?: "Life presents many choices. The choices you make determine the future."
"Are you alright?" she instead whispers in concern to the small but fierce woman.
Tzedaka: “If you do not find a secret, perchaps we go chere”
The elf says quietly "Perhaps." in cautious agreement.
Tannin: "We may have company."
"Indeed. Let Garet know." the druidess whispers urgently in reply, then listens carefully in case the 'company' in question is a sound she has heard before.

The noises sound to her like the movement of feet or boots on earth, quite a lot of them and attempting to be quiet, as she scans about she notes there are numerous small holes and slits all along the ceiling of the corridor and in the ceilings of at least two of the revealed rooms as well....
The corridor that Shalama discovered is musty and dark but it may well prove a less dangerous route as it does not seem to be patrolled as the other...and this one are.
Garet hears Tannins voice in his head as he works at the stones....it would seem a choice is upon him; pull on the chain or lever out the smaller stone with one of the made tools.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tzedaka looks at Enwynn, Tannin, and Herman, Shalana
"Der are always eenemies below to watch, but it is dose beyond my reach chere that I see now" she catches eye contact with the group subtly and her eyes go up.
She will look for a secret passage/ trap door that would allow enemies to enter by surprise
(She will call on Libra for GUIDANCE chanting in Celestial quitely, then use her perception and darkvision: 18 + guidance; 2)
Shalana is unable to find any signs of trapdoors or the like, though she is now certain she can detect movement beyond the small holes and slits....there is definitely something there....a lot of something.
Garet progresses and levers out one of the smaller stones, to gain sight, aware of the noises around them he wanted to gain sight without laying himself open to attack.

As Garet pulls out the smaller stone there is a sharp crack and small pieces of ceramic come away with the stone followed by a golden liquid that Garet stepped back quickly to avoid, the liquid hissed and etched into the stones and sand and bones. After a few seconds the flow ebbed and Garet was able to peer into the gap, at the back, within what had been a ceramic cylinder was something composed of a golden hued metal.
Garet glad of his quick reflexes in dodging the golden liquid and also glad he hadn't yanked the chain or took a larger block out, casts his mind back to the intolerable sessions he had spent as a youngster in the Thieves Guild with Mistress Borgia in his poisons lessons.
He was never the best student but hoped he had some knowledge of the golden substance and quickly tore a strip of his clothing and used it as an impromptu mask in case any gases were toxic.

It seems to be a strongly acidic substance but the fumes dissipate quickly.
Tzedaka, seeing no trap sprung yet, will enter the room where Garet is working. "You are doing well Gayrot. Your skeels from your past are still wid you." She touches his shoulder very gently as to not startle him, GUIDANCE (NEXT SAVE, ADD 1D4)
She whispers in his ear as she touches him "Something above us is watching"
Enwynn attempts to recall if she has seen any historical references to goblins using rats or other small creatures as scouts or watch beasts.
OOC: History Int +5 Roll 12
She doesn't recall anything directly but as goblins seem capable of doing pretty much anything humans and others can do she wouldn't say its impossible.

To Enwynns question, Tzedaka answers curiously, “Yes my dear,” she looks at herself, looking to see if she is injured again.
“You see blood?”
to Tannin
”Vhat do you suspect, Tannin Tziynok? A noise from de room above”
Tannin mentally recounts what he said to Garet.

"Now Cheroes, do you take the main passage or the hidden von that Shalana found?"
As was often the case, Tzedaka did not include herself in her statement. Perhaps it was just the way she spoke, or...
