Brocc was good-natured with being treated like a child sometimes. He would eat and chat with the locals into the late evening and night. Brocc would be interested in learning about the land around here, and what areas the hillmen knew about that were dangerous or held mysteries.
Rufus spends the hours entertaining the children and any others with weaving stories or working minor acts of magic. He partakes heavily of the banquet set before them; but sparingly of the potent homebrew.
He works diligently to ensure the children will remember this night fondly and help to forget the horrors of lost kith and kin.

Brocc learns a number of interesting bits of information throughout the night:
- there has been recent conflict between the hillfolk and a barbarian griffon rider clan to the north as well as isolated attacks from Chameleonite and Wild Elf groups.
- far away in the northern hills dwells a great and powerful disfigured Healer, within a cave marked by a flaming eagle.
- caves to the west delve deep into the ground beneath the hills...no one who enters them emerges again.
- there is a place to the southeast where there was once a ravine that reeked of death, it collapsed a year ago but no one will approach it. One old man mutters the name 'Razaak' as the tale is told.
All of the group ( except Banzo) are approached with the offer of companionship for the night by a number of folks, but it seems there will be no hard feelings if it is refused.
Rufus recalls it was not so long ago that a group of Hillmen were looking to get in his bed to slice his throat while he was unawares. He politely declines to freely give them another opportunity.
He will instead continue with his entertaining stories and magic, until sleep overtakes him. He will lay his small bed roll out near the fire to sleep alone.
Brocc is not against some company for the night. he would have stayed up a bit later than normal, chatting about the stories he was told of the area, then a bit longer with the woman that shared his bed.
Hatch won't refuse companionship for the night from an attractive woman or two. For the quiet yet blunt type he enjoys a fun time. Although he doesn't partake much of the drinking.
Before sleeping and/or "sleeping" though he does take an interest in the stories Brocc is gathering, especially the one about the disfigured healer. After more than a few close calls from the flying dungeon and now this demon, seeing a storied healer about some items to keep them from dying is certainly becoming a great interest to him.
Rising early, some better rested than others the companions note that most of the hillfolk, including their sleeping partners, have simply left at some point during the night, those that remain cook a simply breakfast of hotcakes and honey on what appears to be an old Salomonian shield.
" So where you go now, Heroes of the Hills?", asked one of the men.
"Back to town?" Brocc asks, aiming the question at the group as he digs into the food provided. "I would like to do so, as I have need of some supplies myself. I have a item I would like to build, which I think will come in quite handy."
Dreams were sacred to Lindale's people and noisy company around the fires enjoying food, drinks and each other was not something a dreamwalker desires for a night. To sleep Lindale found a spot aside. But at the morning she gladly joined cooking (curious too - new herbs are always interesting) and talks. The shield did not surprise her (she was not that big on History and the cave had all sorts of strange things in it), but she did openly asked about it - if the shield had a story, that would go lovely with the breakfast.
"Back to town sounds good,"she did not have any plans herself and for now gladly followed others.
Rufus eagerly helps himself to a second helping of hotcakes drizzled with honey. He mumbles through a mouthful, "Aye. Back to port it be. I am glad that there was no sign of Connar in the lair. Our former comrades fate still be a mystery for another day." He thouroghly enjoys his breakfast and compliments the hillmen often.
"It is a companion for starters." Brocc says with a nod to the turtle-man. "I've had these plans for a spider I could ride, and have just figured out a final aspect of it I was having trouble with. If we get back to town I should be able to build it fairly quickly, and we would have a helpful construct who can aid us in our work."
Hatch takes a hearty helping of breakfast. "I'd like to see about getting better armor or some amulet for defense or something. Getting chewed up by that thing was... unpleasant. That's as close to death as I ever want to get. After we get well supplied though in town though, I'd like to discuss our plans. We've heard more than enough rumors to plot out a quest or two. Maybe plan an expedition knocking a few goals out one at a time," he suggested before digging into the meal.
The companions were waved goodbye and set off back towards Chalice, with the sun high in the sky the did not encounter anything untoward on their walk back though to the west in the distance they did see a large form swoop down out of the sky and carry something four legged off.
Making exceptional time they arrived back at the town gates in the early afternoon.....
"Can I keep one of the gem?" suddenly asked Lindale, blushing and quiet but asking nevertheless. "That one"she pointed at intensely ultramarine Lapis Lasuli. "We will cut it off my share, of course. I'd like to keep it, as a reminder and ... well, as a reminder. Can I?"
Other then that, she was all for shopping - there were w few things she could use in the future if their adventures all will be like that cave.
Brocc disappears to do his shopping, the next time you see him he has a lance in-hand and several tools sticking out of various pockets. (boutht a lance, tinker's tools, smith's tools, and leather-worker's tools. Sold his light crossbow.)
He disappears into his room at the inn then, and those outside would hear sounds of someone working inside.
Minus the gem that Lindale requests, Rufus suggests they sale the gems at Jethro's Jewelry again. He did right by them last time. Rufus' only purchase is a diamond <50gp> from Jethro's to power his Chromatic Orb spells.
Other than that Rufus hangs out in the inn/tavern entertaining the locals and awaiting Brocc to finish whatever he is tinkering with.
( Unless you want to roleplay it for other reasons feel free to just record your purchases/exchanges.)
(How much did we get in total each from the Cyclops' quest [I think we each got 100 gold up front], and how much do we get selling the remaining jewels and splitting that up?)
Once I know how much money I have I want to look into if I can afford the Cyclops full plate (maybe trade in the splint armor) and sell one of the non-magical battle-axes.

Lindale did not plan to get so familiar with the locals, she would refrain from the offer.
