Rufus stands in awe of the Lindale's transformation from lovely elf maiden to the intimidating wolf. He makes a mental note to discuss her abilities at a later time. He dismally looks about the sand bar and surrounding shoreline; but is well aware of his limitations. Not much hunting nor tracking on ships at sea, other then the rats that is.
As the companions slowly walked the bank they saw the barge float swiftly past as it was poled along.....after some time and climbing up a rugged outcrop Brocc suddenly pointed out something shining on the ground, it was a strange selection of metal items; a belt buckle, 3 silver coins....a small piece of oddly shaped gold....
Banzo moved forward to examine the objects as Lindale scented around the area, after several minutes Banzo realised that the small piece of gold was a tooth filling....
Lindales wolfish nose detected a strange scent on the wind and looking up saw that there were large patches among the trees above where foliage was just missing and branches simply stopped at a clean cut off, with no sign of the missing material on the ground below....the strange patches seemed to extend away from the bank and into the scrub...
"Shall we follow?" Brocc asks as the others discussed their findings among the group. he nodded int he direction the strange cut-off branches seemed to extend.
"If we want to stop whatever I'm assuming digested the man whole save the indigestible metal bits he had on him, I think we have little choice," Hatch said.
The companions moved through the scrub following the strange patchy canopy, on occasion they came across the blade of a crude iron knife, a little later a scattering of copper coins with holes bored in them.
After an hour or so they found a pile of steel rivets and plates and a serrated sabre that seemed to be about human sized....though Hatch recognized it as orc made.
A little further on there was an immense pile of the same type of remains....crude maces and blades and armour remains....
Silvery mist covered the wolf again revealing after it's disappearance Lindale as herself - half-elven girl. She shook her head - loosing animal senses always felt like a sudden deafness and smelling loss, a shock to adjust - and then looked around. Equipment of all kind, but not bodies - that gave some hope, even if faint.
"We had to ask at least how he looked like and what he had on himself when disappeared!" Disappointed but not discouraged she checked for any other tracks the orginiser(s) of that pile left behind.
"Well it seems we are headed in the right direction anyway." Brocc says with a glance at the equipment left strewn about. "Anyone see where the next is?" He would continue following the path if one still exists.

Lindale does find a trail of foot and bootprints leading to the pile from the west but none leading away.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Can anyone cast Detect Magic on this pile? Might not have done them any good, but you never know what may help us," Hatch said, looking over the weapons and armor and kicking a bit of it around for anything that could be useful for either him or a member of the party.

Rufus cautiously accompanies Banzo in his investigation of the unnaturally formed details they observed on the stone. Rufus keeps a watchful eye out for what appears to be dissolving the unwary passerby's.

At all appears to be rather crudely made, either salvaged from others and badly maintained or crudely forged.
Indeed as they draw closer to the cliff face there is a stairway there, eroded and eaten away over time but still useful.
Looking up they can all see that there is recently broken stone chips and a squared section has been tumbled away that once had an eroded carving upon it, shattered into hunfreds of pieces now it seems this 'door' of sorts was removed to allow access inside the cliff face.
A scattering of crowbars and pickaxe heads litter the steps.

Brocc did his own searching of the area as they traveled, and kept his ears and eyes open for anything unusual...

Hatch would try his best, although he really isn't cut out for investigative work.

Wolf-Lindale obviously did not say anything, but sniffed one of the patch and followed the direction.

Lindale does find a trail of foot and bootprints leading to the pile from the west but none leading away.
Looking ahead there seems to be an escarpment of some sort.
Banzo and Rufus are able to make out features in the rock face that seem too regular to be natural as they approach....

"Go for it, we'll guard you," Hatch said.
"So no detect magic, got it." Brocc says, following after the turtle-man.
There was no point of running ahead of everyone, when Brocc was searching with magic, so, Lindale just curiously followed behind.
