Hatch pocketed his ruby before chasing off after everyone else towards the floating dungeon. It was an eerie horrible sight to say this least, but he took it mostly in stoic stride. Rather than figure out how to get up there on his own he decided to see how his companions tackled the task, figuring someone was a bit brighter at this sort of thing than he.
As the companions follow Girior out of the gates it’s a short run to the shadow of the flying dungeon.
The sun disappears as you enter the shadow of the flying crag, twitching orc corpses and skeletons shamble beneath the huge chunk of rock and dirt, and Girior and the soldiers ride at them.
“’Get to the ropes!’ Girior cries. ‘Get to the ropes and we will hold them off!’”
With that, the soldiers ride into the scattered monsters as Girior flings a fireball into their midst clearing you a path towards the dangling ropes that cost so many soldiers their lives to affix.
The fight is on!

Initiative rolls and what your planning to do, its 30' from here to the ropes and at least a few of the dead are liable to reach you by the time you get there. Girior made a hole but the gaps closing fast. Connar spots one of the ropes is firmly anchored to stone and heads for that one...
"This one!" He calls out, running for the rope. He draws both short swords, and holds them in a defensive stance as he approaches the hordes of undead.

(Assuming it failed) He trips on a rock as he jumps, and lands face first scraping his cheek, and sending his swords flying. Aware of the danger, he quickly half scrambles, half crawls to the nearest one.

"Aaaarrrggggghhhh bastard!!! I hope they don't have any disease!!" Tom bursts out as the dead orc makes a good gash with its nails into Tom's arm. He decides to put his bow away and get the hell up the rope as fast as he can... so he will again attempt to grab onto a rope, hoping for a better grip this time.
Hatch, not looking down and not realizing how lucky he is to have gotten on the rope and how many of the party are still left below, continues to climb.

Tom would’ve also pocketed his Ruby before he bolted off with the group, sorry I forgot to mention that.
(OOC: So did I lol.)
Connar pockets his ruby...
