Bones looks directly at Raymond, making some arcane gestures in the air, and says "You look a little sick there, Mayor Raymond," as he casts Ray of Sickness at second level. A ray of green energy streaks forth at the mayor.

(Bones please read what I am posting, and understand that my choice is for the RP)
Mia's hammer swings fast and hard, smashing the undead guard it falling dead.
Crush looks to Mia and says, “You win, stay the night and Ill pay you back at dinner time.”
Lord Bal raises his hand into the air and says “Thank you friends. I think that your help might still be needed here, in case the crown comes to ask questions. We are going to have to inform them no matter what. The tax collector would be here in a week or two. I can give him a report of what has happened, I would… appreciate it, if I could at least give them your names, as a reference to backing what happened here. Is this ok? And where might I be able to tell them they could find you?”
At this point the town guards try to get into the hall again, Talinian having moved the door swings open and the two guards stumble in as if they were trying to force their way in again. Seeing Raymond laying on the ground dead they draw their swords and get into a readied stance. Lord Bal Speaks up, “Mayor Raymond attacked these adventurers who were here to help us. The why I can only assume has to do with Raymond’s newly discovered hobby of raising the dead.”
Talinian keeps a wary eye on everyone but nods to Lord Bal. "Thank you for your assistance, Lord Bal, Crush." He nods to each. "Certainly, you can give our names to the Tax Collector." Taking a sheet of paper from the mayor's desk, he writes down everyone's name and hands it to Lord Bal.
"I have a boon to ask, Lord Bal. In my capacity as a graduate of Golin and Oriteath, with the responsibilities appertaining thereto, I would like the opportunity for us to search the mayor's office, his residence, and any other rooms he was known to use to locate and confiscate any material or paraphernalia related to his necromantic activities. Is that acceptable?"
"Seeing as my school burned down years back I have no where myself to take them so yes please let's get these books locked up." Lord Bal responds. "You to take them to Mayor, former mayor Raymond's chambers."
Thodin relaxes slightly after the fight ends, impressed that it was so brief, replacing his warhammer to his belt. As he turns he nods towards Bones, "Nice shot, Master Bones, the thing had no chance!" he says with a beard-hidden smile, as he gently taps the Gnome on the shoulder in appreciation. Turning to Mialee, the Dwarf taps his shield as he says "Made not a bad attempt at a shield wall, didn't we, Miss Mialee?" laughing in a low grumble.
Satisfied with her finishing swing Mia would heft her warhammer onto her shoulder. She'd a raise a brow and smirk at Crush's no nonsense, direct ask. She'd look him up and down once more. The warrior was hoping for some one on one with him, but if it wasn't going to be a tussle, she'd take dinner. "I'll play again." She'd wink.
Mialee would move her full attention to Thodin when he'd address her. She'd give him a formal and respectful bow feeling humbled by his jest before breaking out into a chuckle of her own from his infectious laughter. She'd reach over and give the dwarf a firm squeeze on his shoulder. "We did well. And it's a pleasure to support your lead." The half elf would give him a genuine smile, appreciating being able to take ques from his fighting style. She took mental notes.
Truthfully, Mialee was standing with pride to be able to share the battlefield with all of them. Talinian and Bones were masterminds. It was a joy and honour working with and defending them.
Crush asks the name of the Inn you are staying in. Mia do you tell him the truth? If not please roll a deception check. After getting the name Crush says he will get the town doctor and then take care of some guard duties.
You are lead by the town guards and Lord Bal to Raymond’s quarters. It is a 4 room section of the town hall, the first section is meant as a private and personal sitting room, it is dusty as if noone has really been in use for a long time. The next section seems to be the bed chambers, this section also seems to be a little less used than one would think, from this section there are two more sections, one is a bedchamber, there is a small steel tub and a latrine. The 4th and last section of this area has been turned into a study, with even little knowledge one could assume that this is meant as a room for children.
Bones has made a few checks for me already Talinian and whoever else wishes to make an investigation check you are welcome to.
So Bones made a few rolles in a PM, I will stick with the 22, seeing as I think it was the first roll.
Lord Bal just stands at the door with the two city guards while you all search the office. Talinian you look through four books, they all look like notes from four different writers. Three of them are all similar, they are notes and journals from ancient researchers they all talk about extending life, restoring life, and fully bringing people back from the dead. The fourth book looks new, and more like a recap of the other books, with what looks like Raymond’s thoughts. Bones you find and look into a spell book there are from what you can tell 3 spells in it. The first spell is called Siphon Life, it will allow the caster to draw life from one target to another. The other two spells are long, and in different languages. Talinian you see him looking through this book. The last book that is still on the desk is the history book on Vampires.
"An interesting little book here, Talinian," Bones pipes up as he flips through the spellbook, "I'd like to spend some time with this one, if that's alright with you. Perhaps deciphering some of these spells into our own resources." He then picks up the book on Vampires and reads through some of the pages before placing it back down in front of Talinian, "Now this is an interesting and unexpected find. You don't suppose that Raymond himself was... affected, do you?"
Talinian glances up from his perusal of the tomes. "I think not. He died far too easily. Rather I suspect he was considering joining their ranks, perhaps as a means to live longer and get the knowledge he wanted, or maybe as a way to bring his wife back. Bones, does that spell book have Magic Missile?"
Looking at the others he says, "Will a couple of you please go back and search the mayor's office and especially his body?" He glances at Lord Bal. "We did not find his spell book here. The one we found is probably not it as it has only 3 spells in it. That's all we're interested in, in that room. If we don't find it there we may need to search the other rooms."
You are in his "office" now, his body is in the great hall, I'm assuming that's where you are meaning by searching his office especially his body. Is that correct?
ooc: Only some of us went back. Bones and I (I think anyway) stayed in the room where we found the books.
Is that all we find? 4 books and not even his actual spell book? No research equipment, no wizardly paraphernalia? Nothing like that? A secret room, door, or chest, trap door, secret drawers in this desk, crawl space above or below. Talinian would have been looking everywhere, in every corner, under and over every piece of furniture.
Mia would have accompanied the others through their searches before considering retiring for the evening. If she wasn’t needed for the search itself, she’d keep watch over them as they did. She’d make note of anyone keeping an eye on them or making frequent pass bys.

Mia would touch the side of Crush’s face where he was punched, using her lay on hands to cure his wounds.
Insight: 7 on his intentions. Unless something indicates concern/malicious intent, she fully intended to tell him the truth.

(Sorry for the long radio silence stupid real life got in the way.)
So when you all get to the main hall the body is no longer there.
I would like to give a quick overview of the inside of the town hall building.
the hall to the right is where Raymond lived and his office was at, the large center area is the Main Hall.
