Having well and truly acquainted himself with the floor, Wrinm rolls under a bench and proceeds to take a small nap until his liver decides to stop going on strike.
Wren didn't like alcohol, so he didn't partake in any drinking, but seeing Wrinm on the ground, black out drunk, did garner an extremely rare laugh from the ranger.

There are plenty of guests here today, and many people in our grim and perilous world consume alcohol, so at the sight of Wrinm slowly melting to the floor into the darkness of inebriation, no one minded. In fact, they cheered him on. There were many reasons to celebrate this day - after all, it's not everyday a powerful aristocrat like Maximilian weds the lovely Helena..because of love. And business. Right?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dirt poor, Pauladean is never one to pass up anything offered to her for free, so she'll go all in!
Toughness Attribute = 50%
Hour 1 = 99
Hour 2 = 1
Hour 3 = 5
Hour 4 = 32
Peril 1 = 22
Peril 2 = 21
Peril 3 = 13
Woo-hoo! That's 4 peril condition tracks jumped (2+2+1), bringing Pauladean all the way down to Ignore 3 Skill Ranks! Pauladean nearly joins Wrinm on the floor, but still manages to remain upright in her chair for remainder of the evening.
FIND THE BRIDE! (Making Skill Tests and Learning about Degrees Of Success)
It's a wedding tradition! Helena Raffke's family pretends to kidnap the bride, while the guests (including you all - those that aren't on the floor) compete to find and "rescue" her. The winner will be awarded a cask of ale from a local brewery. There are three other NPC competitors (Hanzok, Franzok, and Maud - that I will roll for) with you and there will be a total of three rounds to find Helena. Each competitor makes one Awareness Skill Test each round and determines their Degrees Of Success for each round. Here how it works:
ROUND ONE: Make a (Challenging -10%) Awareness Test. If you pass, find the tens digit of your roll and add your Perception Bonus [PB]. This is your Degrees of Success for the round. ROUND TWO:Make a (Standard +/- 0%)Awareness Test. If you pass, find the tens digit of your roll and add your Perception Bonus [PB]. This is your Degrees of Success for the round. ROUND THREE: Make a (Routine +10%)Awareness Test. If you pass, find the tens digit of your roll and add your Perception Bonus [PB]. This is your Degrees of Success for the round.
So, lets say you have an Awareness base chance of 50. You roll 1d100 and get a 34. That's a 3 (tens digit) + your Perception Bonus (PB) of, say, 3 so you got a total of Round One 6 degrees of success. Remember, if you're imperiled and lose skill ranks, apply those too.
Remember to apply your Peril penalty, if any and at any time, if you Critically Succeed during any of the rounds, you automatically win the contest! Otherwise, whichever player has the highest Degrees of Success total after three rounds finds Helena and wins the prize!
Wren really didn't want to participate in this as the reward wasn't something appealing to him. Then again he could sell it or trade it for some more useful books...

PAULADEAN IS THE WINNER WITH 11 DoS! That drunk *****!
The "degrees of success" rolling mechanic doesn't happen too often unless you're being pit against others in a long term contest of some sort. The important concept to know is first you have to pass the Skill test, then you take the tens digit you rolled and add it to your bonus deemed by the GM.
THE FOOT RACE! (Learning about Chases) It's another wedding tradition! The men (or women) guests compete in a foot race around Swanzi, each carrying one of the fair village maidens on his (or her) back. Each rider holds three cabbages in a sack for the runners to throw at the other competitors as they race. The winner of the race is then "married" to the maiden until dawn the next day. There's no shame in anything that happens in the time and any children conceived are considered blessed! A strange local wedding custom indeed.
Those of you who wish to participate can pair up with a fair maiden, or with another player, doesn't matter.
MECHANICS: In any chase, there are PURSUERS and ESCAPEES. In a chase, the pursuers are trying to beat the escapees by rolling as high as they can each round. In this chase, the PCs will be pursuers, and the NPCs will be escapees. In this mechanic, we're going to pay attention to your Movement attribute, and your Brawn Bonus [BB]. The chase will last for six rounds. Each round, every participant rolls 1d10 + Movement Attribute to generate your chase score for that round. It abstractly represents distance between the individual pursuers and escapees. The PCs must beat the escapees by having a higher end score than them at the end of the sixth round. For this chase, the Escapees have a head start of three, so their round one roll is Movement + 1d10 + 3. They roll without the +3 bonus after this round.
ROUND ONE: PCs make a Movement +1d10 roll to generate your Chase number for that round. NPCs each roll Movement +1d10 +3 for their Escape number. ROUND TWO:Same as above, but add your Round One number to your Round Two number. If, at any time, a Pursuer's score equals or surpasses an Escapee's, you've caught up, or passed that Escapee. You have to be within 3 in order to throw a cabbage at a target - make a Simple Ranged Combat test. If you hit, that target immediately suffers -3 to their current score. ROUND THREE: Same as above, but add your Round Two number to your Round Three number and can toss a cabbage if in range. Here's where your [BB] comes in. You can sprint without risk of tiring for a number of rounds equal to your [BB]. Once you exceed that number of rounds, make a (Challenging -10%) Toughness test at the beginning of the round or suffer 2d10+2 Peril. If you Critically Fail, suffer 3d10+3 Peril. ROUND FOUR:Same as above, but add your Round Three number to your Round Four number and can toss a cabbage if in range. Check for Peril. ROUND FIVE:Same as above, but add your Round Four number to your Round Five number and can toss a cabbage if in range. Check for Peril. ROUND SIX: At the end of this round, all NPC escapees must be beaten by the pursuer PCs in order to win the race. Check for Peril.
If you are Intoxicated, you suffer a -3 to your ROUND ONE roll.
