Asa will sleep with the maiden, since she's a bad conversationalist and sexual intercourse will be more fun for her than talking about the weather or some other attempt to engage in small talk.

Wren didn't need to participate in these games to have 'fun', he was enjoying himself by simply watching his comrades make further fools of themselves. FORTUNE POINTS:5 Use Fortune to: Reroll a non Critical Failure Skill Test, gain 1 AP, or make a Fury or Chaos die face '6'. Fury die are what you roll for damage, and face '6' explode, letting you roll again until you stop rolling '6's.
Awareness: You see a heavily pregnant and much younger woman sitting nearby, sipping occasionally from a tankard of small beer and looking very shy and unsure of herself. NExt to her is another young woman, apparently her maid of honor, and a very unhappy older looking man of roughly Maximilian's age (about 54).
Rumor: The bride, Helena Raffke, is the daughter of Franz Raffke. Her father is a prominent boat-chandler (supplier of ropes, equipment and stores). You learn that the marriage is part of a business deal between Franz and Maximilian, and that both want a male child to inheret the business. It's not unusual for the bride to be visibly pregnant on the wedding day: it ensures that the marriage will be fertile before any binding commitments are made. You can't tell why Franz is looking so unhappy, though.
Scrutinize: You overhear a slurred argument that Maximilian and Franz are having. Apparently, it's something about a missing "bride token". They look around, and proceed to slug off to a more private area in the road house.
Any order to gain anymore information, someone must succeed at a (Routine +10%) Stealth test.
The festivities continue on until the wee hours of the night. Helena leaves the reception and goes to bed fairly early - much earlier than Maximilian. Franz stays a bit longer and continues drinking. Eventually, the party dies down and you all retire to your rooms at the coach house. You drag Wrinm to bed. As long as you get 6 hours of sleep, you gain all of your lost levels of Peril - back to Unhindered. Asa, hopefully, had a very enjoyable evening between the sheets.
THE NEXT MORNING
Wrinm, you wake up with a knock at the door and a massive hangover. It's Maximilian and Franz. Maximilian looks very well rested, but Franz looks like a mess.
"Wrinm!" Maximilian says nervously. "Good to see you again after so long. Might we, ah, have a word?" "THIS is your cousin?" Franz says in disbelief. "Ah ha." Maximilian chuckles nervously. "Yes. Well, as you see, Wrinm, we have a situation. Might we have your ear for a moment, with your companions, of course."
CORRUPTION AND ORDER/CHAOS RANKS
For those of you that received Corruption points, take a 1d10 and roll. If you roll equal to or less than the number of Corruption points you currently have, you gain a rank in CHAOS. If you roll higher than the number of Corruption points you have, you come to terms with what you've done and gain a rank in ORDER. Finally, your Corruption is now back to zero. Do this now.
Werston winces with the wonder of wakefulness. With whatever grace he can muster, he welcomes Maximilian and Franz into the room where he was unceremoniously placed, sometime the night before.
"Oh, uhm, yes. Ouch. I mean hello. Mice no teet you. It's been quite a while dear cousin. I trust the rest of the wedding went well? I fear I... overdid it a bit, early on in the festivities. My constitution isn't what it once was."
He punctuates his welcome with a wheeze.
After the two men are settled, he fixes Franz with a long, old man's glare. He breaks it with a toothy smile
"Surely not." Franz says, disdainfully. "I am Franz Raffke, father of Helena."
Maximilian begins to sweat. "I certain hope you had a good time last night. Smashing party, I must say. And don't worry about last night. You weren't the only one in the dirt. At least YOU woke up! AH HA!" he laughs nervously. Clearing a situation is making his on edge.
"Please." Max says, "We have a situation of utmost urgency. Well, you see, I uh.." he begins, fumbling his fingers nervously. "A shipment has gone missing. A very large delivery of hemp was supposed to have arrived by now, here, at Swanzi, yesterday. It didn't show up. We fear the worse. We do. Not only that, it contained the bride token. It was supposed to be a gift from me to Franz. We need someone to come with us, to protect us, you see. We're going to go find it. It was coming from Vorberg to here. About a day away. We'll pay you! Where are you friends? Can we discuss the matter with them as well? Do you think they'll say yes?"
"Hmm, hmm. Yes, yes I see. Hmm, yes, best to get a few more ears in on this little... situation - give me a moment to gather them... Oh, one thing. I assume that you will be busy over the next few days, as you and your wife get better acquainted, so I imagine that I will be representing your... interests in this little venture?"
As Maximilian opens his mouth to respond, Werston interrupts. "Say no more! Just give me a moment to gather my friends. After all, if you can't rely on family, who can you? Rely on, that is..."
"Maximilian will be going with you." Franz makes clear, to you and Maximilian, annoyed at the situation. "And yes. DO get your friends. We shall wait here, yes."
A few moments later, Pauldadean stumbles into the room, head in hand, nursing a humongous hangover headache. "Quit talking sooooo loud! And why's it so damn bright in here?! Mind if I shut the shades?"
Pauladean's pretty dress looks surprisingly dirtier than it did last night, which is shocking because it's obviously a used dress older than most of the people in the room. It's quite obvious that she couldn't afford a room in the inn last night, so spent it curled up in the alleyway out back. Her perky visage, though, shines through the room like a beacon of hope. And she manages to crack a wicked smile that grows and grows as Franz and Maximilian fill the rest of them in on their plan.
Wren certainly wasn’t a morning person, grumbling his way over to the gathering after Wrinm woken him up. His nose had been stuck in a book till very late in the evening once given some privacy, which only added to the crankiness he felt.
Once filled in on the plan, the ranger asks, “And how much are you paying us for this?”

Dara listens to the explanation with her customary grim expression. Upon finishing it, she merely jerks a finger at Wren to put her support behind his question.
"Of course, yes!" Maximilian spurts. "We will pay each of you 35 pennies a day for your protection and service. And, of course, if successful, the prospect of additional work, should you want it. What say you? If you accept, we can leave today, right away!" he says, hoping you'll take the job.
Werston rubs the pale stubble on his chin. "Yes, I think that compensation will be adequate. What do you say, friends? A missing shipment of hemp, and a missing Bride's token. Lost in transit between Swanzi and Vorberg... that's a fair amount of ground to cover on foot. Do we have transport? And speaking of, how was the shipment being transported itself? Remind me - is there a canal between the two cities? Or am I thinking of somewhere among the Eastern polities."
"Here are the details." Maximilian begins to explain. "Franz will remain in Swanzi. We will travel in two coaches. One for you and your friends, and another one with my bride and staff. It will take about a day to get from Swanzi to Vorberg. I'll need you all to protect us, and use your skills to ensure a safe journey. As promised, I will pay you each per day no matter what happens."
COACH ONE:The PCs COACH TWO:Maximilian, Helena, Helena's maid-of-honor Bibi, Maximilian's Chief of Security, Andre. Three sellswords: Juergen, Markus, and Udo.
ROLES: Three roles will need to be covered during the journey: Guide, Survivalist, and Scout. Depending on which role someone takes determines who among the NPCs will work with you. As mentioned, this is a short stretch of a journey, and will only take one day of game time. One player must assume each of the three roles until three players are assigned.
GUIDE: During the journey, you will make one (Routine +10%) Navigation test. (This is a special skill, so if you do NOT have any skill ranks in it, you Flip to Fail when you roll.) Your result will determine how well you navigate through the wilderness road without getting lost. You will be working with Helena and Bibi if you take this role. SURVIVALIST: During the journey, you will make one (Routine +10%) Survival test. (This is a common skill, so you do NOT Flip to Fail this roll.) Your result will determine how well you manage the campsite during break and forage for food if needed. You will be working with Maximilian should you take this role. SCOUT: During the journey, you will make one (Routine +10%) Stealth test. This is the person who is the party lookout, searching for danger while you all travel. Your result will determine how good a job you do. If you chose this role, you will partner with Andre to keep the caravans safe.
Finally, during the during EVERYONE will make a (Routine +10%)Toughness test. Should you fail this test, you will suffer 2d10+2 Peril from fatigue during the journey.
At the mention of 35 pennies a day payment, Pauladean's eyes got big as saucers, and her ears basically shut down, hearing nothing else that was said from there on out. Caught in a daydream about what she could spend the money on (for it was double the amount of coin she currently had in her name), she finally blurted out "YES! I'll take the job!" without a care of whatever was being discussed at the time.
Whispering amongst her team, she comments "I'm a brute force boxer....not very good at any of those leads he's looking for. Anyone else here good at any of those jobs? If so, feel free to be voluntold it's yours!"
Pauladean's attribute rating for each of the three positions:
