After Kierro leaves, Honor will turn to Emmy. "Do you want to do some scouting with your magic? You can't be as stealthy that way, but you can't get hurt, either." She nods at Higgul. "I'd like to do anything we can to get Higgul better protected from dragon breath. We can see if there's anything in town as well, potions even, but I have a feeling we'll have more luck in the dungeon. Of course, if you feel you'd be of more use working with the captain to make sure the ship is protected if any trouble does happen, or scouting the area for information about the dragon itself, those both sound good. I wouldn't want to be stranded here, delightful as a tropical paradise may be. I'd certainly like to know more about the ruler of this place."
After your morning shopping trips, some scouting done by Emmy, and Leto's meeting with the Tyrant, you all hear of a death on the docks.
It doesn't take much to find out it was the captain that Esmerelda was sitting on the lap of in the tavern the previous night. He is badly mangled, and would look to have been killed by a large creature, likely a dragon, as you would all have reason to know what that looks like. A note was left on the body... "Don't sleep with other's wifes..."
"Well this is juicy." Leto says with a grin to his entourage as they walk back from their morning meeting and shopping excursion while listening to the rumors.
Returning to the Inn to wait for the other Dragonlords, who he assumes will have to meet somewhere to discuss their plans, "it may as well be here...", he orders a mead and citrus juice mix, "Something light for the morning..."((D&D mimosas!)) Stopping the server ((if it's the same server as last night who helped Esmeralda even better, but I don't know how shift work happens in D&D inns...)) for a second, he asks, feigning worry and surprise, "We heard the news. Absolutely shocking! Wasn't that the captain that went away with the elf woman who was here last night? Have her or her hu... the man she was with... been seen around this morning? His ship and crew are no doubt distraught..."
"Good morning, all." Kierro nods to the others as he finds the inn the others had been staying at. Getting himself a tea and Chysen something (probably a coffee), he sits with the other Dragonlords as they gather. He quietly says: "So you heard about it too? It's tragic. And the circumstances of it... I can understand the motive, but it doesn't excuse it at all. It's still a murder."
He watches the tavern, wondering if Roberto would show his face once more to them.
Taking a sip from his drink, Leto leans forward and says, “When I spoke with him last night; he was surprisingly secretive about their relationship for someone ‘in love’ by the way; he did seem concerned that something was “keeping her.” Though who am I to judge what goes on behind closed doors?” Shrugging he leans back, enjoying the bit of drama that someone else, for once, has brought to the group.
“Has anyone seen her? We could simply ask her, what happened. She may lie or she may tell the truth, but one way or another you will know more then now.” Nadariel throws in, while eating some fresh baked pastries.
Ing is no where to be found this morning, nor is her dragon. What is wierd is that you cannot even sense her dragon, he must be further away than you can sense dragons that are not yours.

"I haven't seen her."Kierro responds. He closes his eyes, focusing a moment. "And I can't sense her husband, the cobalt, either. Which means they either fled the island or found some way to conceal him from us sensing them."
"How would we know more than we do now if she lies?" Honor asks. "If we don't recognize it for a lie, then we don't even gain the knowledge that we've been lied to."

Fesyss frowns over at Sinder. "I sure didn't have an eventful night." She informs him. "Maybe next time you should include me in the fun..."

When Naivara hears about it, she starts twitching. "I can't believe she just..." she says quietly. "When I see her again..." she trails off, angry.

Kyrian adresses Naivara quietly "It may not be her...the phrasing on the note has me suspecting someone else."
“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
"Who else do you know that has a dragon for a husband?" Naivara asks.

Kyrian shrugs "Could be a setup, but now you mention it, it sounds like a jealous husband to me"

Honor shrugs. "I got the feeling her husband knew, and was fine with it, to some degree. The victim's relationship status, however..."

Would we have noticed one less dragon on our senses? Or is it more like a background awareness, easy to miss one less if not paying attention?

Latrius is still up in his castle. Is anyone going to let him know what’s going on?
