Content to let the group discuss the rest of the details among yourselves, the Black Fist nods a farewell. "Looks to me like this is something you all can work out amongst yourselves. Try not to get yourselves killed."
As the knight turns to leave, the entire inn is shaken by a tremendous gust of wind, followed by a thunderous roar that rapidly recedes away from the inn. "What the black bloody Hells was that!?!" She turns and races up the stairs to the second floor of the inn to peer from the windows. The four of you arrive only seconds behind, moving your gaze from her shocked face to a truly horrific sight. A vast winged serpent larger than the Laughing Goblin itself is perched on the side of Valijevo Castle, rending great holes in its stone walls. The pale moonlight glistens off its massive green head as it rears back before exhaling a green cloud into the hole it has made in the wall. Screams begin to echo all the way across the town. In the street below you people run about in fear, many of them crowding into the square before the Laughing Goblin...
Something ugly flares to light in Tharnik’s eyes as he sees the dragon, and he lets out an enraged roar. He then races back down the stairs and out the inn door towards the dragon as fast as his stubby dwarf legs can carry him, not paying any attention to whether his companions are following or not.

Even hundreds of feet away, there no mistaking the dragon's size. Few among the knights could boast of a partner of that size - perhaps only Vlaakith herself could. He crosses his arms as he looks on.
"Well. A dragon cultist, now a dragon. I imagine our emerald friend over there isn't here for our benefit. We should move."
Hearing the heavy, rapid footfalls of his new dwarven acquaintance, Kar clicks his tongue and shakes his head. Even if the stout warrior thought he could fight off a dragon alone, he would never reach the beast.
"Lady knight, I suspect you are going to have a very real reckoning regarding traitors in your ranks today."
With that he too descends the staircase. Darastrix, his steel defender, falls calmly in step with him as he leaves the tavern. He pays no mind to the fool villagers crowding together in the open like frightened calves awaiting the cull.
Instead, he goes to the tower next to the tavern and raps on its door in an attempt to summon it's inhabitants. The structure seemed sturdier than the lean-to of the tavern, and such a tall building was bound to have a good foundation - perhaps even a cellar to take shelter in. If not, perhaps a tall vantage from which he might irritate the monster before he died.

"Dwarf, wait!" Cadogan calls out in vain, as Tharnik pounds down the stairs and flies out of the inn. "The rest of us should try and stick together at least," he says, motioning for the tiefling to follow as he moves down the stairs after Kar'a'nach. To the Black Fist he remarks, "I recommend rounding up the inn patrons and finding a nice cellar to hide inside. We're in for a long night."
As they step outside into the cool night, he waits in front of the inn while the gith goes to investigate a nearby structure. His eyes wander from the dragon to the throng of people in the streets, watching out for any unusual reactions. If the cult had already infiltrated that castle, being among the townsfolk wasn't a far stretch...
Was not certain which you might prefer, they both have the same bonus regardless. Perception/Insight: 19
"Stick together? Are you nuts? We should be getting out of here!" Her hand flies to her wand, gripping it tightly in her hand as she follows them down the stairs.
Iniphi pauses once they reach the front door of the inn, standing in the entry way. "We signed up to investigate corruption. Not deal with...That!" She says with exasperation, gesturing wildly at the dragon ripping apart Valjeo Castle.
While Kar'a'nach bangs on the door, no one comes to answer. It would appear whomever owns the building is currently not in residence...
As Tharnik rushes down the street towards Valijevo Castle, a commotion brews in the streets ahead. Gawkers that had gathered to stare up at the doom overshadowing Phlan were now fleeing towards the inn as a group of hobgoblins and a man in robes round the corner, leading a barred wagon that is pulled by a green-scaled, two-headed giant. Dozens of people are caged within the wagon.
You can hear the man in robes shout, "Round 'em up and toss 'em up with the others. Vorgansharax hungers for tribute!"
A large panicked crowd of people fills the streets, at this time the area is considered difficult terrain.
Roll for initiative.

"Vath'gath," curses Kar'a'nach as he finds no answer at the door. He didn't even try the handle - certain it was locked, and he was likely spotted at this point anyway. The docks were to his back - there would be no retreat. The only way out is through. The battlefield congested and complicated with the screaming crowd, he needed a better vantage. Glancing to the roof of the Laughing Goblin, he moves fifteen feet to its wall, and then with a flash, channels his innate psionics and casts misty step, reappearing on top of the roof of the two-story structure. Upon his reappearance, his flourishes his ornate greatsword, whipping it towards the cloaked figure - presumably their leader. As he does, a trail of silver flame dances along the blade before streaking towards the robed man.
Silver flame strikes the man's cloak, who furiously rips the hood off and throws it to the ground. In the pale light of the moon, you can make out glistening burns on the skin of his face. The scaled two-headed giant lets out a roar from both mouths, dragging the barred wagon further forward for about twenty feet before letting go. Brandishing a double-edged battleaxe, the creature roars again, sending civilians scattering away from it.

Cad moves between Tharnik and the gith's curious metal creation, moving towards the two-headed monstrosity. With a flick of his wrist and a quick word, a Spiritual Weapon in the form of a long thrusting blade corporealizes from the creature's shadow and stabs towards it. Approaching the creature himself, he draws his rapier and attacks in one fluid motion.
The two-headed giant lets out a roar of pain as both blades pierce its scales, waving its battleaxe in a vain attempt to ward off the weapons. Scowling, the robed man in the back moves forward pointing at Kar as he shouts a divine word in Draconic.
A green flame-like prominence bursts to life above Kar's head, rushing down towards him.

Bloody scales fly from the creature as Tharnik rips through it, rending deep gashes along its body. It remains standing, but bloodied and breathing heavily.
A large green lizard creature attempts to muscle its way through the throng of people, while the two armored hobgoblins move forward to make sweep strikes against Cadogan and Tharnik with their greatswords.

Tharnik blinks at the automaton, then scratches his head and ignores it.
"Well, er . . .I'm not exactly the best at cloak 'n dagger stuff. I'd prefer we do something where I ken bash some heads without fear of retribution."
