Enraptured by the dryads and their mystic splendor, Kitsune has been silent throughout most of the afternoon tea, mostly sitting to the side, mouth agape in awe. Wanting to experience all this adventure has to offer, she heartily accepts their gracious offer of food and drink, as well as their magic warding crown (which she quickly places on her head, and then puts the hood of her cloak over).
Survival check to track Banrion: 16
After they're out of the woods, and away from the nasty sunbeam traps, Kitsune will remove the magic warding crown, and stow it away safely in her pack.
Crown already askew upon his brow, Hamdel eagerly scratches notes in his book, muttering to himself about concentricity and anomolous principals of arcane activity. Assuming he is not physically checked, he will enter the ancient city to sketch out pieces of architecture. He flits haphazardly from building to building, sometimes pausing by uninteresting boulders with loud exclamations, quickly shushed internally. Squeaker rides on his shoulder, nibbling on his crown and giving it suspicious sniffs.
As you traverse through the ruins, you can hear the soft weeping and scared noises of small fey creatures. Sprites, pixies, boggles and even satyrs. They all look childlike, and strangely, harmless and cute. They don't appear to be corrupted at all. The fey creatures observe you from a distance, afraid, peeking at you all from the corners of your eye. Then, a disembodied voice speaks to you out loud coming from..somewhere, and they vanish to hide.
"Halt, strangers. Why are you here? State your business."a creature says - from somewhere. The voice is pleasant, it is not so much a demand, but a wary question.
Hamdel glances up from his book, suddenly realizes he is at the front of the group, mutters a short curse in abyssal, and scurries to the back without another word.
"I am she."she says, identifying herself and her correct gender. "But it is not I who is corrupted. It is I who fights the corruption. If you are in league with the coven, I shall destroy you."
The entire area of about 100' in each direction begins to sparkle like stardust, and you know that the threat of celestial death could, quite possibly, be a fate for you based on anyone's choice of words next.
Alta grits her teeth and steps forward. "Okay...wait, please. I am a friend to nature, and we're just trying to help, I believe there has been a fair bit of trickery at work. I'm from this forest, a friend of the treant Turlang, and want to see the woods prosper. Could we perhaps hear what happened here, so that we can help?"
"Terribly sorry about that. For some reason I thought you were male. Could you explain who this coven is? We were lost in the woods, stumbling through trapped sunbeams and poison spores before some dryads found us and told us that you were corrupt and that you needed to be caught. But I'm beginning to get the impression that we were deceived and if that is the case, I invite you to explain what's really going on so that we can solve this without quarrel."

"Wait, we're not really aligned with anybody, are we? We were lost in the woods. A dryad, apparently your enemy, offered us sanctuary, and protection from the sunbeam traps that seem to be a... feature of this area. We did not intend to trespass, nor could we have possibly imagined we were joining forces with a coven." Hamdel steeples his fingers. "Perhaps the situation might be salvaged so as not to end in our unfortunate demise? After all, we are but innocent lost travelers, fooled by a wicked foe. If you were truly a force for good against the corruption of darkness, then surely you would not strike down those who are innocent? And as my friend says, perhaps we might even be of some mutual assistance."
A small healthy squirrel, one that appears to being magically influenced and controlled, scurries up to you all at eye level on one of the city ruin's walls. It looks at you all over very carefully, and then you hear Banrion's voice again.
"Here to help, you say. Trickery will be punished, outsiders."Banrion warns. "Mother Stag, Mother Mole, and Mother Skunk are otherwise known as the Three Mothers - they are a coven of hags who seek to spread their corruption across the entire forest who use illusion and guile to trick others into their bidding - specifically, to destroy me. They set traps and other terrible spells in the corrupted forest and then "save" unwary travelers, tricking them against me. They have been doing so for years. I seek only to restore the forest. Are you to say that you mean me no harm? I warn you, you are not the first to fail in an attempt to bring me to ruin."
Banrion looks at you through the furry squirrel, awaiting an answer.
"Well, if I may say, that's hardly a surprise, since the hags don't seem to be able to do anything against you directly. Why else would they concoct such silly schemes, ensnaring travelers? Trust me, you have nothing to fear from any of us. Right?" Hamdel looks around at the rest of the party for confirmation.

‘I am a servant of Lathander.’ Dalavash says, brandishing his holy symbol. ‘If you harbor no evil, no harm will befall you. I had misgivings about the nature of our earlier hosts, but I have little direct experience with the fey.’
Kitsune mumbles to herself "Iiiiiinnnnnnnteresting twist, if I do say so myself. The Raven Queen will surely love to hear about this! Fascinating!"
Then louder, to the hidden Banrion, "Madam Barnrion...as you can no doubt see (through your squirrel friend here), we have not drawn our weapons nor our wands. We mean you no harm. May we enter your realm, and, perhaps, discuss terms of mutual assistance?"
Alta nods in agreement. "We will not harm you, noble unicorn. And we apologize for the grave misunderstandings that have led to our current situation."
Oh, the speaker is genuine, alright. You sense no deceit at all.
The squirrel hops off the broken piece in a flash and all around you small fuzzy, furry forest animals scurry past you at incredible speed towards a central point you can't see very well in the center of the ruins. After a few moments when you think that amount of animals couldn't possible fit in the area they were all running to, a creature slowly emerges from behind one of the higher walls. A white horse with a horn and a beautiful blonde mane strides into view. It shimmers with a golden celestial aura and is hands down, perhaps, the most amazingly gorgeous magical animal you've ever seen. It slowly walks up to you and you realize, not only how beautiful it is, but how large the horse is.
"Very well, then."she says, without moving her mouth. "Beyond the walls of this ruin is a fallen clocktower laying across a massive chasm. Behind us is a source of great evil, corrupting the forest with malicious intent that should be extinguished. Which path do you chose?"
After taking a moment to take in this awe-inspiring sight, Dalavash speaks.
'Will what we find in the clocktower aid us in vanquishing the evil? It seems to be a terrible evil indeed if it can resist your power, and I worry we might need to be better prepared for battle than we are currently...' he pauses for a moment, and then asks
'What do you know of each path?'
