Been running a home brew pbp campaign since last November with people coming and going. Once again people are going so I"m looking for new people to come in.
Current Party Goblin Conjuration Wizard Taxabi Gloom Stalker Ranger Half-Elf Oath of Devotion Paladin
World The Valley is a demiplane that exist between most planes, taking pieces and parts into itself including people. The landscape is every changing with shooting stars that bring new landmass and people. Navigation is done through compasses that point to locations imprinted in them (think compasses from One Piece) Much of the valley has been divided up by factions at war with each other, some are merely having a cold war and some are much more actively fighting. The party, at the moment, has chosen to stay out of the factional war as much as they can while getting by.
Game play
I have what I think is a fairly loose DM style, i'm not big on details, I played mostly in person until late last year. I let the players decide where to go and how to go about with occasional set events here and there. If you have a particular goal or idea you want to do, I'll try to fit it in. I would prefer if new players can at least post once a day during weekdays, weekends are often by loose. I'll move along with story either when I think I should or after a day of no post.
Characters:
Characters will start at level 5 and leveling is done through milestones. They'll start with an uncommon magic item and 600gp. They will be new entries to the Valley. Give me a short description of your character as well. Official Publications and UA allowed, still use latest version of subclasses.
Stats - points buy or roll (reroll 1's once)
I'll sort through and probably make my choices around weekend time.
Kirin - Level 15 High Elf Wizard (Evocation) - Zorg's Lost Souls - Overchannel Steel Wind Strike for the Win against Demogorgon Silas - Level 11 Human Cleric (War Domain) - Tomb of Annihilation Done
Nearly there. I am going for a Goliath Cleric War Domain. ddb.ac/characters/32432831/8tuiv4
Background : I have wandered far, following the path of the three clawed god. The drums of war beat within my chest and ever do I seek the next battlefield where I might release the wrath of my god. I have travelled to seek my final destiny, my glorious end in magnificent battle. I paid passage to arrive by portal and walk here as a vagabond, a seeker of rumours. I hunt for the glorious end that will bring me to the seat of my god. Tempus be praised!
I have a character I'd like to play again from a campaign that died out maybe half a year ago. There was plane travel involved, so we can say he ended up in The Valley by accident.
I'd like to introduce my Warforged Battle Smith Artificer named Fire, Ready, Aim (F.R.A. for short, pronounced "Frey"). You say that land and people fall into the demiplane all the time, so I would say it's not implausible for F.R.A. to fall from Eberron into this demiplane.
The TL;DR of his story is that he and four others were created for a stealth mission during the Last War (Eberron), and he developed PTSD when his friend, Sympathy, one of the other Warforged, died during their infiltration mission, and then his creators' nation was destroyed by a massive magical holocaust, the cause unknown. F.R.A. was left with a letter from Sympathy with questions about the nature of souls: what constitutes a soul, do the Warforged have them, and does any creature have them? F.R.A. worked as a blacksmith for a year before calling in favors to study Abyssal and magic at Morgrave University.
Why pick another caster for the game? Battle Smiths use INT as an attack/damage modifier for magic weapons, and Artificers make magic weapons aplenty. I will be going ham with a magic crossbow to deal as much damage as I can.
backstory: masquarades as a child, was raised by dwarves and has learned their love of gems. He lacked the strength to be a blacksmith, or a warrior, he became a spy and informant acting normally as an orphan or curious child.
Looks like a typical poor orphan: blonde hair, brown eyes, and dirty
This sounds interesting. I'll roll some attributes and come up with a character.
Ability scores: 151411161415
Name: Squall
Race & Class: Air Genasi Rogue 3 (Inquisitor)/Cleric 2 (Trickery)
Background: Urchin
Backstory: Growing up on the streets, Squall never knew family other than the other street kids. He was good at spying out information and built a career as an inquisitor (rogue archetype), selling his findings for plenty of gold. One night, he crossed the wrong merchant, taking more gold than he should have and was discovered as it clinked while he tried to make his escape. As he ran, he was cornered and so turned to defiantly stand his ground against his pursuers. As he did so, he noticed a coin flipping in the air in front of him, held in place by some mysterious force. As he reached out and grabbed it, he heard a voice in his head telling him to flip the coin for luck. With nothing else to do but stand and fight, Squall shrugged and flipped the coin, catching it face side up. The voice quietly told him what he should do, and following its instructions, he managed his escape. From there, he found solace from Tymora, the God of Luck, and so she led him to be her herald, a cleric spreading her name... for good luck.
Backstory: Haunted One: Rockfeller has an eerie past. The only son of a sarcophagus maker and his wife (who died giving birth), Rock never had much fear of death, he would spend his days hauling the finished tombs to their new inhabitants and after 30 years... He began to hear then speak. He was declared mad and exiled from his home and now spends a wretched life wandering from job to job trying to make ends meet while dealing with his ailment.
I can easily post multiple times a day, and this style of campaign is right up my alley. I would love to play a hexblade warlock. I have a banger of a backstory, but I am gonna PM it to you.
Nicodemus -used- to be very involved with a cult worshiping Illithids. He was young, and impressionable. He truly believed they were destined to rule the world, and lived deep in the under dark preaching their dominion as a priest and slave. A Githzerai warparty raided his home and took the captives with them after destroying his masters. Nicodemus was broken, having seen his gods destroyed in front of his very eyes... the Gith were not unfeeling however, seeing something within him that could be turned to good. They taught Nicodemus self reflection, and power in meditation. He learned well, and is a growing strength in the order of monks. He has traveled to the Valley on one of the shooting stars, and is looking to see how to navigate this new and changing land.
Legends of Runeterra is something I use in game but I haven't looked through it throughtly so I have to say no to Legends of Runeterra when for character creation for now.
Most likely I'll make my choices next week, depending on how my campgain goes.
Kirin - Level 15 High Elf Wizard (Evocation) - Zorg's Lost Souls - Overchannel Steel Wind Strike for the Win against Demogorgon Silas - Level 11 Human Cleric (War Domain) - Tomb of Annihilation Done
back story: Balasar was not content with the peaceful way his clan lived and struck out on his own. He was hired on as a solider he was latter employed by a group of mercenary. After leaving there employment he meat up with a trusted friend and worked on a city guard that was soon attacked by a wurm and he lost his friend but Balasar still carries his shattered sword

Aleister C
Human Warlock
Ability scores: 14127121311
Aleister C began life as a scholar, of sorts, but his true beginnings began where he read that tome; or, perhaps a better accounting of the event would be when that tome grabbed him, shook him and linked him to an unworldly alien entity that almost sent him spiraling into gibbering madness. Now he is a reluctant minion to something so far beyond mortal understanding that Aleister C feels as though he were split into two, one part human; one part an extension into the physical world of something utterly alien to it. He finds himself in pursuit of knowledge, to what end he knows not; maybe just for the shear knowing only?
