With the commotion of the encounter over, the adventures are finally able to take in their surroundings. Some rays of light enter the room from openings in the ceiling. There are cracks on the walls and rubble all over the ground. Some vegetation has started growing out of cracks in the floor. Water can be heard flowing from somewhere, but it is not visible.
On the north wall, there is a locked metal door with a key-lock on it.
Towards the end of the room on the east side, the party can see a blood stained limestone altar. There are four sconces with unlit torches lining the wall around it. While the map indicates two doors here, none are visible.
On the south wall, there is a door partially lodged under crumbling rock. It looks as if it could come loose if someone with considerable strength pulled on it.
Back towards the west in the previously traversed hallway entrance, a door on the south wall has been pried open. It looks as if one could slip through the crack if they weren’t too big.
In the center of the room are four pillars. One of them is surrounded by rubble, with a visible open cavity.
(ooc: Because of the nature of play-by-post, I will allow multiple inspections of the area at once.)
Magis makes its way down the hall after entering from the crack in the western passage, passing the other door at the south of the main room which is lodged in rubble. At the end of the hall, it can see a small room with a lone chest inside. There is significant rubble on the far end of the room.

Leovold laughs, " You are very funny elf. I do wish I was small enough to fit through cracks like this sometimes. It reminds me of my youth. Maybe I will ask more about your birds later." Leovold looks around more while Magis is exploring, trying to decide if he could move the piles of rocks. He sees the door that might be pried open and moves up to try.
His muscles bulge as he attempts to move the door, and a low growl emits from him.

Leovold slips on the floor as he tries and Facebreaker catches him and attempts to help.
Leovold and Zhan-gin pull hard on the door, and it bursts open before clanging on the floor behind them. Some rubble falls from the ceiling with large large thuds, but it doesn't seem dangerous to enter otherwise.
" Cursed damn mimics I was so excited," Leovold says grimacing as he prepares for combat once more. His mimic attempts to take a quick slash at the creature before it can be destroyed.
Nimue says "Well mimics sometime ingest valuables so I saw we kill it and see what it might hold. The dwarven god of greed surely had some treasure around here. Let us lure it into the main room. I will ready a spell to attack as soon as it enters through the opening."
Nimue will back at least 30 feet away from the door and ready an eldritch blast for when it comes through.
As the heroes ready their attacks, Leovold’s echos continue to slash at the mimic as it is slowly drawn out to the main room. It attempts to bite at the echo but only manages to bite onto the air. Upon reaching the main room, it is met with a green blast, the deathly sounds of a bell, and a punch to the side. It recoils, but soon after, a yellow gas spews from its mouth and enters the air.
"Try not to breathe in the mist, it looks dangerous."
Leovold backs off trying to avoid the mist and an echo of him stays in place to attack. He uses his action surge to gain an extra action for the turn. He uses this to attack with the echo and unleashes incarnation. He uses unleash incarnation again to attack twice on the second attack. The echo becomes a blur of movement as it slices 4 times at the mimic.

From his position in the back, Leovold seems visibly exerted. Sweating and shaking from this action.
Facebreaker thrusts his spear into the mimic, but because he is so close, misses his aim. However, his expertise in martial arts shows through when he kicks it in the face!
A flurry of slashes comes from Leovold's echo, slashing the mimic so many times that parts of it seem to fall off. Its tongue appears to writhe in pain.
The mimic slumps lifelessly, its top opening like a treasure chest.
Dusty rings his trademark bell on top of the chest, which causes the lifeless object to rumble. 50 gold coins jump in reaction to the vibrations and fall onto the floor around it.
While the party starts to pick up the coins, Nimue and her birds investigate the room that the mimic was previously in. There seems to be nothing more of interest in the room.
The yellow gas that the mimic spewed into the room has seemed to affect the party's senses. They gain 0 experience points from this encounter.

With the battle complete Nimue inspects the top door to see if the door is locked and if it is, to see if she thinks it is possible to break the lock or knock the door off the hinges.
The door is locked tight. It appears to be of the same build as the previous door. Water seems to be flowing from the other side according to the direction of the noise.

Leovold stands back looking at their handiwork and gives Zhan-gin a bro pat on the back. " Damn fine work."
Levold sends an echo running into the space to check for traps.
Something clearly seems odd about the chest upon closer inspection.
As Leovold's echo places its paw upon it, it suddenly shows teeth and a long slimy tongue!
If all is well with the echo, Nimue will walk down the hall with Numquam aiding her in keeping an eye out for anything dangerous.
