Dra'vos clutches the now empty cup of tea tightly in his hands as Gil beings his song, were it to have had any affect on the audio assault Dra'vos would have also slid under the table with the goblin, instead his grip on the cup causing small gashes to form on its surface. When the song ends Dra'vos lets out a long sigh of relief and turns to Dylan just as the barmaid beings over a new cup of tea taking the now wounded old cup.
"You want me to warm you? You should have just said," Dra'vos sneers flames flickering out from beneath the veil, "I can warm you as much as you want."
Eekz, shouting over the nearby playing bard to make yourself heard, you shout your approval at Yagra. Yagra, who has just staggered back to her seat says nothing in reply, but sits back down, then raises her ale in your direction.
The barmaid says, "Of course, sir, I will bring your tea right away." Looking at Sylivar, "No, she works for Davil, the gentleman over there." She gestures the table where Yagra has reseated herself. You see a willowy, attractive elf with long copper-colored hair. He has many documents strewn out over the table, and he's actively working on one now. He looks up at his bodyguard, says something to her, then smirks. He then takes a couple seconds to look her over and puts his hand on her shoulder. There is a brief blue-ish glow from his hand, and then you can see that Yagra is sitting taller and breathing easier.
The barmaid says, "If you want to know more about them, you'll have to ask them yourselves. As far as the one who scared the stragglers off, that was Durnan. He used to be an adventurer, but he's settled down. Now he owns this place." At this point, another patron flags the young woman down, "Ah, excuse me. I'll be back shortly with your tea."
Gil, you step up to start playing, standing next to a fairly short man with shoulder length brown hair. The man has just finished playing a song, and he was taking a moment to retune his three stringed lute. As you start playing your song, you manage to keep the crowd's attention fairly well. As you finish your first verse, the bard, jealous of the attention, starts playing on his own lute. The worst duet partner, he chooses notes that are intentionally discordant with your own, causing the performance to be less than stellar. About two thirds of the way through your song, you give up and go sit back down. The bard smiles and sticks his tongue out at you, then goes back to playing his own music.
Dylan says to the table, "Well, that was a... spectacle. Unfortunately, I know little about the actual job. Volo was less than forthcoming with the information, but he talked of grand riches and adventure, which, knowing him, is probably all hyperbole. He actually should be here before too much longer though. I don't know what's keeping him."

Gaèl leans back in his chair, giving Dylan an appraising but impressed look. "Volo himself, hm? Neverwinter must've paid off, if counting clients like Volo as regulars now." and he grins for a moment. "I wonder what its about..." and his eyes slowly wander to the well situated in the Tavern, the infamous entrance to the Undermountain. His gaze phases out into a distance, then he forcibly snaps back by clapping his hands onto his face and rubbing his cheeks. "Well whatever it is" he says with a grin towards the goblin, "i hope they have enough chicken where we're going. And you said Volo's coming here himself, eh?
Gil cackles at Dra'vos, opens his mouth for a retort then closes it without saying anything. After a moment of reflection he waves Dra'vos off and sits back down, a look of mischief on his face.
You spend some time chatting among yourselves, some of you more easily than others. The less patient of you are about to call it a loss when Dylan perks up and says "Ah, finally! Our patron approaches!"
You see a man approaching wearing a floppy beret and foppish clothing. He obviously recognizes Dylan, whom he'd met last night. He saunters up and sits down at the last empty space of your table, pulls off his beret, then starts stroking his handlebar mustache.
"Greetings, friends! Volothamp Geddarm, chronicler, wizard, and celebrity, at your service! I am tremendously sorry for keeping you waiting. I have a couple irons in the fire, so to speak. I trust you've noticed the violence in your city these past tendays? I've not seen so much blood since my last visit to Baldur's Gate! Unfortunately, I appear to have misplaced a friend amidst this odious malevolence, and I'm truly concerned for him..."
He adjusts his scarf, takes a big swig of an ale he purchased before sitting down with you (the man has priorities), and says, "My friend's name is Floon. Floon Blagmaar. He's got more beauty than brains, and I worry he took a bad way home a couple nights ago and was kidnapped... or worse." He takes another huge swig of his ale. "So, here's the job. If you agree to it, I'll give you each ten dragons now, and ten times that much each when you find him. So! May I prevail upon you in our time of need?"

After briefly leaning back and readjusting the wrappings on his wrists, Sylivar peers at Volothamp. "Why would an accomplished magician such as yourself require the assistance of a raggedly band of adventurers who can barely withstand each other's antics?" says Sylivar with a sidelong glance at Dra'vos and Gil. "And why would you promise such a great reward for the location of one man when the City Guard is allegedly so apt at their work?"
"The City Guard and I have an... interesting relationship. I may have a tendency to, uh... embellish some stories, so they, perhaps think that I, in my celebrity, am throwing them on a wild goose chase. They said they would get on an investigation, but it could be weeks before they get around to my case. They are very busy."

"City guard are not always well trusted." Thom days addressing Sylivar, turning to Volothamp I continue "Do you suspect guards, or do you have any leads?"
Gil nods, "Silivar does bring up some good points, but hey, Dragons are dragons. What do you know about your friends disappearance, do you have any suspects? What can you tell us?"
He blinks at Eekz, "Isn't there a proverb about counting your chickens or something like that?"
He turns towards Thom nodding at his questions then finally back towards Volo listening.
