"You 3 can do the talking, that's fine, but you should let me go first, I'm kinda less talky and more stabby stabby. Tends to keep the riff raff at bay a bit." Devynn smirks and taps the hilt of his sword for emphasis.
Serik was slightly curious about what had happened before with the victim, but he didn't press the question. He simply raised an eyebrow at the entire exchange and silently followed Sayre towards the front door, staff quietly thumping along at his side, Owl astride his shoulder.
Ok so, The marching Order is. Sayre,Devynn,Serik,Victor? Any changes To this?

OOC: We're walking into city streets IDK why a 'marching order' is necessary? The streets super narrow or something? Sayre knows the Duskmeadow like she said, she's up front.

So, Devynn is in the lead with Sayre close behind, Followed by serik and victor. Sayre you spend a lot of free time in the Duskmeadow so you easily lead the group there. As you leave the Quad roads and enter into the Duskmeadow, Sayre and Victor Make perception checks.

Sayre, While the streets are bustling with People Moving about and shopping. You notice someone odd about 60 feet away from the group. The Person is wearing a Brown cloak that covers them completely and is clearly carrying a spear. the group moves on 20 feet and you look to see the figure, Who appears to be following you.
It takes roughly 30 minutes to get to the Duskmeadow, During which you had to weave your way threw entire crowds of people in the Quad roads who are currently decorating for The Winters Crest festival. After reaching the Duskmeadow, The crowds of people grow fewer in number as this is not an overly traveled part in vasselheim. You occasionally see a few people who simply walk past you without a word. The Velvet Cabaret is in sight, You see the freshly re-designed building. It's more of a Palace now then its previous incarnation. Large windows, Fresh pine makes the outside walls. Standing over 4 stories tall. Its quite impressive considering what it used to look like. You venture past it onto a worn dirt path. This is where Sayre steps in front of Devynn as she knows this area better than anyone. You walk at a steady pace for about 10 minutes before you come to a small meadow, Skinny, dark trees occasionally pop up along it and in the Center of it, A Pond Shaped like a crescent moon. Sayre you turn to see if that person you saw was still following the group, You just catch a glimpse of a flash of steel as The individual darts into the dense brush to the south-west of the pond. The person you saw definitely followed you here.

"Uh guys not that's it a surprise but we're being followed and have been for sometimes since we left the Quad roads," Sayre explains with a heavy sigh. "Fanboy of the Take or Victor's cunning verse I think one of us should check it out," she adds gesturing to where she saw the figure disappear before looking around the pond to task at hand for any clues about the attack! Sayre You look around the meadow area and find nothing really. 2 or 3 pieces of gold are laying around, you pick them up and continue on towards the Pong. After only 2 minutes of looking you come across a part of the pond with Indications of a struggle. Even threw the fresh layer of snow covering the dead grass, You spot signs of a struggle. You swipe some snow out of the way and find a Small Red Jewel. You would think it a ruby but it's not the right size, this is far smaller. Almost like a pea in size. You pocket it and follow the struggle marks, It continues around the Outside of the pond for about 5 feet before it stops. Here you can see signs of a fight, There is still a little bit of blood showing in the snow. You cant help but dig into the snow a little bit and that when you feel the tips of your fingers strike something hard. Digging it out of the snow you find a Dagger, It has a Long curved blade with a beautiful ivory handle but no guard. Along where the guard should be you see 3 small red jewels. There is a slot for a forth but its missing.

Devynn is looking around, looking for path markers, places where the attackers might have left. He glances over at Sayre... "Any poison on the blade? Can anyone check it for residual magic?"
Perception to check for a trail showing which way the attackers went: 10
DM: Yes, call me Sherlock Holmes! P.s. Sayre wouldn't pick up the blade being familiar with magic and poison! Also the gem she found is the fourth missing stone in the guard right?
Arcane check 3 whelp that's my first nat 1 ever on ddb 😕
"Uh Victor a little help?" Sayre asks with a smirk gesturing to the dagger sticking out of the snow having used her own dagger to unearth the thing in the first place!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
DM Not: There are 4 sockets where the blades guard would be, 3 have small red stones in it. one does not. Also, I love nat 1's >:D
Sayre, you look at this blade and think DAMN that ****er is SHARP.
Devynn, you look in the general area where Sayre had pointed. You focus for a second on the area. You see some branches moving in the breeze, Nothing much else.
Bandit leader Rolls 10 To hit Victor. if it hits he takes 12 Piercing damage from a cross bow bolt, Which dosent hit!
After this bolt flies out of the Dense brush you all hear a Deep, orcish voice yell out "GET'EM LADS". 3 rough looking, Half orcs sprint from the trees towards you. Followed by a Female half orc, Carrying a Spear in one hand and a crossbow in the other.
ROLL INITIATIVE.
DM Note: be thankful to sayre for rolling so high on her Perception check and stopping a potential surprise attack.
