Rinn you are sure the monstrosity now also sees you and from the slight raise in its gaze something behind you. It backs on its hunches and luanches in a back spin into the air flying away east by southeast. As you glance back you see Blaire's red hair coming over the horizon and you're fairly certain not knowing how man were coming and getting caught unaware is all that saved you from a nasty fight.
Blaire, getting a good view of the retreating form says in a lowered voice while coming up alongside Rinn, "Oh, $#@==! is that a $#@×? We wouldn't likely survive that. What was it doing here? Where in $*** hells did it go off to?"
Ikki walks forward to join the others, watching the manticore fly away. "To find mate?" His neck and shoulder feathers ruffle, then he looks up at in the direction of the female voice. "Hear!" he calls, his beak clicking.
"It was a manticore," Rinn says as he strides up to the door of the windmill. "It said it wanted food for it and it's mate. It'll probably come back if it doesn't find food elsewhere. We should probably keep an eye out from here on. They're meant to be pretty nasty."
Rinn turns to look up at the windows in the windmill and for the owner of the female's voice. "Hello miss! You wouldn't be the one that the town master was looking for would ya?"
The woman leaning out the east facing second story window says, "What's that?!", looks you all over a bit then adds, "Oh, just a moment! I 'll come down!"
Shortly after, "There's rustling at the door. You hear things scooted and a couple bolts thrown before the old scratched up door is pulled open.
The middle-aged to elderly looking female steps out saying, "Well now, if I had seen you coming, I would have definitely yelled out a warning and a plea for some help. I wouldn't have known you could just talk to it. I think you said someone might be looking for me? I 'm Adabra Gwynn, midwife and apothecary in these parts, and devotee of Chauntea. Might as well come in and fill me in on what's going on."
Ikki enters, clearly not hindered by any sense of formality or supposed impropriety. He walks in, hunched slightly, his head swiveling so each red brown eye can get a good look at everything.
Yes Ma'am. It seems as there is another beast besides the manticore that is terrorizing the countryside. A dragon. We have been sent by the townmaster....Mr. Wester was it? We where to warn you of the dragon and escort you back to town in the hopes you would be safer there than being here alone.
Rinn wanders around the room, looking at everything on the shelves with child-like curiosity (Perception: 19). "Why are you so far out from Phandalin, Miss Gwynn? Wouldn't it be better to be in town?"
While looking around, Rinn, you notice a few concoctions being crafted, as well as multiple ingredients and supplies meticulously sorted and prepared.
While Adabra Gwynn has been patiently listening to Eli and Various without much reaction, she smiles turning her head slightly toward Rinn and responding, "Such manners! Well deary, for one I craft medicinal potions, harvest many ingredients, care for the mill, and manage my own little garden here. For another I'm not too keen on people in general nor town living. Simple sort like Harbin or right nasty folk like Thornton or loving folk like Alderleaf, they're all folk and evenly get on my nerves after a bit. We all do better if'n I drop in as needed they do the same."
The mid-wife's initial response drew a quite scoff from Blaire, but the cleric grew more contemplative when she started mentioning specific people. She glaced to see if she could catch any party members eye, particularly Eli's.
DM Meta: I determined anyone with a Passive Perception of 15 or higher would notice Blaire covertly indicate points of interest then saw none of the party reached that threshold.
However Rinn with your previous perception roll, you notice Blaire's indicating an interest in those mentioned.
Eli, Ikki, Various, please make perception rolls. 15 or higher you also notice. Otherwise, you don't.
Rinn notices Blaire's glances at the names mentioned, but doesn't react. He looks at the potions and herbs lying about. The temptation to pocket some is high, but there's too many people here, so he puts his hands in his pockets.
"I remember some people from back home like that. They were fun to play tricks on though," he says as his mind wanders, remembering.

“It’s more intimidating if it’s all of us”
The manticore says, "Have mate." looking back at Ikki, then looking in the direction of Various.

“He is right, it would be safer back at the town, dragons can kill you quickly alone, with others there is a chance”
