 Brunella steps behind the remaining Yuan ti and brings it down, chopping the cursed snake thing into pieces.

The last Broodguard falls to the ground. Yuan-ti blood is all over as well as Dragonbait's tar smell.

Despite the victory, there is no time for celebration. A gong-like sound has been heard from the temple and that signify likely that all the Yuan-ti are aware of the party's presence. The snake will strike when the guard is down.

Before deciding what to do next, Inete casts a healing spell on the fierce Goliath.

 The triceratops seems too big to continue further in the Palace.

"It seemed to wanted to lead us East if I recall. Should we go south to avoid the place where they are probably waiting for us ?"

Four pillars carved with serpent reliefs support the 20-foot-high ceiling of this large room, in the middle of which is an 18-foot-high statue of a coiled cobra, facing north. Torches with green flames flicker on the walls, and the air reeks of dung. Two wagons are parked in one corner, and a triceratops is confined to a metal pen in another. To the west are a pair of dark alcoves, and to the south is a wide, pillared hall.

Gertrude tries to find out why they would keep a triceratops in the corner (is it a working animal? attacking?): Insight: 3

 Bored as it is, it seems the Yuan-ti use the triceratops as a working animal to carry the wagons around. The wagons are empty currently.

The cobra statue, although impressive and made with the intent to instil fear in trespassers (like the party, that is), seems just a statue.

Felix would like to search the area for traps or anything hidden passages.

 There seems to be no trap or hidden passage in these halls.

Once Felix give the thumbs up, Kurma leads the way south. "Very, well, let's go this way. I'm afraid that, with the alarm raised, most of the Yuan-ti will converge to their leader."

The walls of this pillared hall bear reliefs of a giant serpent and its yuan-ti worshipers doing terrible things.

A closer examination of the bas-reliefs shows the following sceneries:

• A giant serpent coils in the underworld, devouring the dreams of sleeping creatures.
• Yuan-ti terrorize Chultans, feeding their nightmares to the great serpent.
• A yuan-ti (human-like upper body, snake-like lower body) wielding a flaming sword and wearing a gold crown set with a black opal leads the snake people to a great door to the underworld.
• The door to the underworld opens, releasing the serpent. It devours the sun and plunges the world into terror and darkness.

 No Yuan-ti seems to be around. But the black opal on the crown of the Yuan-ti with the flaming sword seems like a button.

Brunella shudders at the vile images of the Yuan-Ti plunging the world into chaos. She longs to be outside, not in this dark temple.
