“I don’t think that was your distraction. I think that’s someone in trouble.” Messages Barril. After his movement, he will turn and draw an arrow and aim at the huge bull thing.
Readied action to fire, triggered if the party either messages or speaks that we’ll assist or if anyone actually begins to intervene with the attack against the stranger.
(Really hoping that if we do attack, Barril will get Sneak Attack due to an ally (the mysterious stranger) is within 5’ of the thessalgorgon and not incapacitated.)

So, it occurs to me that the group may have taken cues from my previous living dungeon short rest hostility. I think I should have made it clearer what to expect, so here's a chance to reset without retcon. There are safe places to rest inside this temple, but not the guard barracks by the front door in the middle of all hell breaking loose. Currently, you can go back a bit and get that short rest in any of a few areas, which that person trapped under the hoof of a snake festooned mechanical bull is aware of. Or, you can just B line for the door with the treasure the BBEG knows you have. I'm good with either. This is in response to the comment earlier that you could use a short rest, and while at the time it seemed likely enough to happen on its own, it now seems highly unlikely. So, in this way you and the redhead kind of help eachother, assuming you opt to help her.>
That last thing was my way of telling you that you're walking into an encounter just under the "deadly" threshold (using Lazy DM system). Given that you're low i resources, I'd say you should consider your options.
And to avoid confusion later, the surprised condition does not apply to anyone in this case. The gorgon knows one ally is there at start. The girl in the corner knows the girgon is there and all of the party saw it. No one is 'surprised'
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tetrevess calls out to the girl- “do not resist me, I’ll try to pull you free!” And uses telekinetic shove to pull her 5’ closer to our group. He then shoots the beast with electrical scorching rays:
The gorgon turns several snake heads to see what's shooting at him.
As you approach room 1, you hear the rush of water coming from the room to the east of the room beyond, and yet again, you are face to face to face to face to face to face to face {actual number if heads currently = 10} with the Thessalhydra (those who headed north, (at your discretion this can also include those who did not explicitly say so)).
<Thessalar is still in the large central maw, accompanied by his homunculus. As the beast sights you, he rears to attack. (Monsters act on same initiative, {I think it was a 4. I'll repost the initiative order }. If anyone hasnt made a round 1 action, feel freeto do so now. Forget your movement speed, you didnt have to dash, but you are blocked to the North and There's some rubble to hide among in the southern part of room 3. I'm not counting it as difficult terrain, it's been swept up, but some large pieces of statue and timbers still remain in the area, so you could hide there. Otherwise it's an open room and a long hallway with sconces burning on the walls to illuminate the area. There is really no place to hide other than as noted.>
If you're wondering, area 2 connects directly to the lake.
Initiative order presently matches order North to South, with the woman (who can introduce herself when she feels like it, though I'm going to start referring to her as 'Etny') in the southwest corner, the Thessalgorgon in the nearest non-adjacent square, Thessalhydra on the number 1 and Huarache and Echo (I guess?) in the central part of room 3 agaisnt the east wall.

<I guess in this case that person is an ally, so it would make sense.>
I think we still need initiative from Huarache
Random roll
7 +3
Previously unmentioned: this one has violet eyes.
So what are Tetrevess, Sam and Huarache doing?
Tetrevess messages the others “that’s not your illusion- that’s a real person I think. I suppose we should help?)
Previous post triggers this action.
Barril’s itchy trigger finger releases the arrow.
Attack: 11 Damage: 6 + sneak attack dmg: 26
(Of course.)
”Run for your lives” messages Barril. “”I’ll cover your escape.”
(You all are still under the affects of pass without trace)

15 to hit
10 damage per hit
29 to hit
7 damage per hit
30 to hit
5 damage per hit
he then flees the room..
One shot hits.
<Flees North or South? You came in from the South.>
Flees north- towards 1.
I’ll move north as well

(Oh My… looking bleak. Thought we left those guys in the basement. So We got two monsters and the master, us injured and low on spells.)
Etrigan/Shaman turns and runs the other way while blasting the gorgon-creature.
Eldritch blast:16 Damage:14
Eldritch blast:18 Damage:6
<Running away towards the hydra? I've heard it called "advancing in a different direction" but seldom so literally.>
The gorgon takes both blasts, snorting angrily as they hit his metallic hide.
