(I would allow Awakened Mind to affect multiple creatures)
Spoones, you would indeed recognize the symbol as one of a cult or god, since holy symbols are portrayed on such items as amulets. You cannot identify the exact cult or god it belongs to though.
Just then, a wild-eyed, gray haired man walks by your table. Having caught the tail end of your conversation thus far, he says, "If you're looking to find something, you should try the Crackling Tower, just outside town. They've got a huge library, and I bet you could find almost anything there."

Nipperkin slips out from his 'hidden' position at the mention of a library.
"'Morrow, sorry to interrupt, but I have heard most of your conversation and feel I could be useful to your endeavors if you were to be heading to this tower."
I look outside the window. "Personally, I don't really think that, err, going there now would be a good idea. Maybe we should, like, you know? Get ourselves ready? I Mean, just a personal opinion."

"No, no, you've got a point, sir—is that right, you're a sir?—but one wonders what 'getting ourselves ready' would entail."

"our cat friend is right. we cant prepare unless we know what to prepare for. if we could find the answer of what there goal is and help people prepare for it"
as he says this he starts heading to the door
"where is this library anyways? you dont have to come, but im going. follow me if you would like, but none of you have to."
A new fellow walks into the bar, dressed in a strange deep purple garb. His clothes are fine and made of a strange silk, and he wears a black cap on his head, with a brown feather mounted atop it. He has a cape that is connected to his shoulders by silver clips, and a rapier at his sides. His arms are covered completely by the long sleeve purple suit he is wearing, and his skin appears to be a dark gray in hue. He bears a copper ring around his left hand's pointer finger, and where his left inner-suit pocket is, the fabric is pushed out by something strange from the inside of his suit. His hands are covered by pure white gloves, made from the finest of silk. You see as some in the tavern give him a strange look, keeping their eye on him. At first glance, his appearance seems strange, but you have seen stranger in the large city of Waterdeep, but then you notice why the patrons of the bar keep looking at him strangely. He's a drow, his pointed ears hid by his hat, but he's a drow nonetheless.
He bows his hat down a bit, and moves towards your table, noticing the backpacks that set you apart from most of the rest of the bar's patrons.
"Hello,"He says in a thick accent, "I see you are adventurers, or am I mistaken?"

"me neither. hey do you know anything about this y, crystal, thingy?"
He looks at you confused, not stuttering for once. "What crystal thing?"
After a while, the folks gathered around the sketch hear a voice ask, "May I have a look?"
A cougar Tabaxi in a yellow tunic steps forward and peers down at the symbol.
(History check: 22)
"Huh, that is strange."
