Kell says nothing, but an aura of magic seems to surround him as he glares with his good eye at The dragon kin. He starts to raise his hands, but then sees seraph, and thinks better of it. The magic fades, and a look of calm disinterest settles over his features.

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
When the horn blows to announce the end of class, Professor Tundra approaches Val as the other students begin filing out of the door. She hands you a folded note and says quietly, "Detention will be early tomorrow morning. Meet the others, if there is any, at the gym area tomorrow at 4:30 A.M. sharp. Am I understood?"
At the end of first class, there was not enough time for jumping hurdles, much to the delight of some students. Seraph signs a detention note and hands it to Kell. He says, "Detention's at 4:30 AM tomorrow morning at the gym area. Be there."
"I'll be here." Kell gives a mock bow behind his back as he walks away. He then hurries to his next class with Master Barrowfell, Hoping to avoid another detention.

Val held his sigh in through sheer force of will, but he was unable to keep the dejectedness out of his voice. "Yes, professor."
"4:30am!" He thought horribly. Anytime he had to wake up before the 8th bell was a crisis for him. This wasn't going to be one of the detentions he preferred, like helping the librarian put away ancient tomes or mending and cleaning broken pots and pans in the kitchen to practice his cantrips. This was some kind of grueling physical punishment from that sadist Seraph. He'd even take cleaning out the griffin stables over that.
He finished collecting his books, and wrapped them in a leather strap before heading out of the classroom to the mess hall for dinner. So caught up in his thoughts, he was halfway to the mess hall before he remembered to look at the folded note.
The note is just a reminder when and where to meet for detention. Scrawled along the edges of the note are small, magical glyphs. When you study them, they appear to be some sort of enchantment to make lots of noise. It is probably an alarm to wake you up.
You make it to the mess hall to find breakfast waiting on tables for those on the B schedule. All kinds of food fill the tables graciously prepared by the aging halfling cook. Like most grandmas, her food just seems to taste better than most. Maybe it's some kind of magic, but your not sure as you chow down. Your familiar flits down and lands next to you. It appears to have caught some bugs and begins to feast on them next to you.
Just as a reminder, Kell, you get one uncommon magic item. PM me what you would like.
Charwoman_Gene has dropped out. I'm waiting for a response if the druid is still interested.
With first class over, Seraph takes a few minutes to meditate while waiting for the next unfortunate batch of students that have a class with him. He invites Yu to meditate with him.
The gym classes continue on as they do most days. On the classes you can tolerate more than the others, you take them on jogs through the forest. While you enjoy it, the class doesn't for the most part. You make it back to the gym area refreshed and hardly winded, while the class gasps for air.
Around your lunch break, one of the office aids comes into the gym and drops off a package. It is a velvety purple bag with a large lump in it. The aid says, "That's for the detention session tomorrow. Be careful with it, or you'll kill everyone in your classes." She walks off and leaves the bag with you.
Continue your.interaction with Yu. I posted this without seeing your comment. Sorry.
Yu sits cross-legged next to Sariph. He places his palms together and closes his eyes. After a moment, he asks in a slightly playful tone, "Yes, sensei?"
Once the second gym class ends, Seraph stretches a bit. He has no more classes until after lunch. There still seems to be quite some time left before then. He checks the velvet bag and tells Yu, "I might need you at 4:30 AM tomorrow at detention. At that time, everyone would be groggy and in a bad mood so your help would be appreciated. So do you think you could be there?"
Kell, you walk through the school and up to the 4th floor. This level of the building has red torches that mark it as the Evocation wing. You make your way to Master Barrowfel's room. It too is built like a small amphitheater.
When class starts, Master Barrowfel begins lecturing the class on how to properly incant words to produce a type of magical power. He goes into detail on how if certain words were to be changed in spells, the type of energy would be changed. He warns against this as it will backfire in most cases. At the end of class, he assigns an essay due at the end of the week that needs to contain the 11 common phrases and variations of those phrases that will cause a spell to produce a certain type of energy.
In the bag, there is a glass container about the size of your fist that is filled with a roiling green gas. As you pull it out to inspect it, a note falls out of the bag. When you pick it up and read it, it says:
"The Arcane Construction Department is running low on supplies needed to complete the 5th years' golem creation project. One of the ingredients needed is formic acid from a giant queen ant. On the back of this note is a map to a nest of enlarged ants. The jar in the bag contains a Cloudkill dweomer. Drop the jar down the shaft of the nest, and it will kill most of the ants. You will be taking the detention students with you tomorrow at 4:30 A.M."
Seraph sighs and tells Yu, "You are free to go on about your business. It looks like I've got some ants to kill."
He will take the glass ball and head towards the supply closet to get some glass containers to actually put the formic acid in once it's been extracted.
All throughout the first half hour of Master Barrowfel's lesson, Kell is rapt with attention. The idea that a few simple changes could affect a spell so drastically was astounding. Of course, he wasn't thinking of conventional spells. He found his fingers naturally forming a somatic shape, and in his head he was mapping out the precise eosteric geometries needed for the magic of the Antari. However, even if the idea was as enthralling as one of Mistress El'Imanray's charm spells, he couldn't risk exposing himself in the middle of a classroom. Relaxing his hands, he resolves to ask Master Corrinth tomorrow. Maybe it WAS possible to make a stronger time reversal, or even that permanent portal......if you substituted Lun for Steno and As Hasari, you could make a loophole, but it would be brittle, so As Vitari Would have to be substituted, but that would open up a plethora of other outcomes...... When the bell sounds his head snaps up, and the whole geometry inside his head falls apart. He shrugs, as it woudn't have worked anyway. He barely manages to catch the teacher talking about the assignment. Kell, although he missed eighty percent of the lesson, was not worried. He was no beginner at High Evocation, and anything he couldn't guess there was a whole godsdamn library that he could find it in.
After a quick read through his very limited notes, he heads off to the cafeteria for dinner. Kell beelines away from Seraph and Yu. He picks up some food, and sits down at an empty table. He eats slowly, pouring over his book on blood magic.

Yu Zhong walks away after Kell gets detention and goes to get the equipment set up for the exercises. As he walks by Kell he says "Nice one."
If it is okay for the DM of I don't have a magic item.

Yu Zhong smirks as Kell stops making the aura. Then he finishes setting up the equipment.
