Tree's attention to the music and support of Rurik's song falters briefly as she notices the (could it be?) metalboar behind the interesting little draconic humanoid, Chrerc - did she hear him say his name was? Her large gnome ears strain to hear more of their conversation while her eyes wander occasionally to the large secure door in the back, her hands nearly touching the mechanical instrument, and about the room - always curious. As thoughts of how very amazing this day is becoming, a brilliant smile seems to lighten her face as if a child just receiving a new puppy might. The drums again seem to beat stronger and her voice joins Rurik's in song.
Tree, in all the excitement, has nearly failed to notice the human, but only nearly. Although her human adoptive parents were not always good to her, she recognizes his gaze as one they would often give her when her wanderlust got the better of her and they needed to guide her out of trouble. She brightens and smiles his way, the more friend the merrier and nudges another drink his way.
The chorus went, "I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole. Diggy Diggy hole, diggy diggy hole." The half elf woman singing the dwarven song along with him was so hilarious to Rurik that he roared with laughter. She was great, though, easily the best he's ever heard. When the song was over, wiping tears from his eyes, he made his way over to her. "Thanks for that, most fun I've had in a while. I'm Rurik, a traveling preacher. What's your name?"

Chrerc continues to talk to Sarrey, asking about Akran and the Brothers in Arms in particular. He talks about this for several minutes before realizing Sarrey had mentioned a war?
The rest of the evening passes by and you and your newfound friends retire to your rooms over the bar, ready to get some sleep for a fresh new day.
The next morning, the events of the previous night have settled down somewhat, and other patrons of the tavern find themselves with splitting headaches. By some quirk of chance, you end up sitting with the friends you met the other night, and who, like you, look ready for adventure!

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tree steps away during the lull in the music and approaches the metal boar, trying to decipher what makes it work. She reaches towards it several times with apparently delicate fingers as if to touch it but seems to think better of it each time knowing that it's not a real boar but an incredible mechanical likeness. She watches its tusks and glowing eyes and murmurs softly to it with odd sounds trying to determine if it has its own mind or responds somehow to Chrerc's commands. Does he need to concentrate to make it work, or is it somewhat independent?
She strategically places herself while doing this to hear more of the Tiefling's comments and possible adventure. He speaks of Akran as the Cloaked figure had and maybe she will learn more. animal handling13 - for comparison to a real boar of the beast, investigation6 , passive 13 - for learning more of the conversation. She is also careful to observe where the Tiefling goes after the conversation.
As the evening fades and becomes less eventful she will find herself to her own room, roll up her limited valuables in her cloak and set it at the head of her resting space as a pillow and settle in for the night.
Did we earn any coin for the performance though short?
Bright and early the next morning, Chrerc was up eating breakfast--something that looked suspiciously like a large beetle--while reading over his notes in a large journal. He was looking at any maps he had of the region, combined with the information he had gathered from Sarrey and was considering a path to travel to Akran. That seemed like as good a place as any to research and experiment, he thought.
He wondered if any of his companions from the previous night were headed that way as well.
Trilin, also an early riser, strolls into the bar in the morning. She looks amusingly at the Kobold's breakfast and gives a quick wave. "Good morning to you Chrerc!!" She climbs up into one of the chairs nearby and quickly orders bread and fruit. "I overheard you speaking with that Tiefling about Akran last night and wondered if you might be headed that way? If you are, and wouldn't mind the company - I'd like to join you. I might not look like much, but have some skill as a Druid and can fight as well as heal and provide support."
Mafalda and Rurik chat for a while, as much as they can make themselves heard in such a busy establishment, until she feels overwhelmed by the noise and the activity around her. She bids the dwarf good night and retires to her room.
Come the morning, Mafalda dresses and washes up, braids her hair, and makes her way to the dining room. She keeps an eye out for Rurik, having forgotten to make a note of the song from last night and its origin, as she cobbles together a breakfast of pastries and fruit juice.

Alfonso perks up at this after having found his same seat.
”Ya know, I’ve been getting restless here as well. And I have skills aplenty for rough work. Just putting it out there.”
The kobold looks up at the other adventurers, his head barely rising over the table. "Yes," he chirps, "This one plans to venture towards Akran. Company is always welcome. Maps this one has, but old, outdated."
Trilin gives Alfonso a bright smile and a quick wave. "Good to see you again!"
"Chrerc, what do think? You, me, this fellow here and our other friends from last night , we all make it up to that place they were talking about? Can you see a path on your map?"
Rurik took it for granted that he was going to come. "I'm a traveling preacher. Wherever I go, I am needed. Any direction is as good as any other. Besides..." His eyes gleamed and he grinned. "...This will be a perfect opportunity to preach you all a sermon. Or two." He laughed.

minor illusion (sound only to enhance the music). performance 4 , investigation 17 , perception, insight 22 history 24 - history as she may have never have heard of a mechanical boar or Kobold being good before. Passive perception 12, Passive investigation 13, passive insight 12 if any of that is relevant.

A half-elf woman not far from Rurik will perk up on hearing his song and his drumbeat.
(History check to see if she recognizes the folk song: 8)
(Performance check to join in: 27)
It's not one she's heard before, but the words and melody are easy enough to pick up. She adds her booming contralto voice to the chorus with gusto.
