The door opens onto a very large (approximately 80' across) octagonal chamber. The walls, or maybe even the air itself here glows with a faint greyish-white luminescence as wisps of fogs roll across the floor. A pair of double doors 20' wide is set in each cardinal direction. Looking up, the chamber is at least 40' high with a 15' wide circular hole in the ceiling the vanishes into darkness.

Barnabus cautiously steps into the room. He slowly spins about taking in the enormity until he's about 15 feet into the room. Once sure the room is relatively safe he motions the others forward.
"Well my dwarves senses be telling' me were west of the other stairs and about on the same level. Could be that door to the east leads back towards them. They were also headed north so could be that way as well. Everyone look around and see if you can see any signs of which doors have the most usage. I'll start over here." Says Barnabus first pointing then heading to the north door.

"Bah! Blasted fogs got me all confused. Can't see a thing." Curses the dwarf.
The doors in the east, west and south walls appear to have once been decorated with bronze sheets etched with bas relief. Bits of the bronze sheets are still present, but not enough to tell what was depicted. However, the northern door is completely different, as there are runes of glowing blue energy etched into their surface and heavy chains locking the portal. As you approach, you see even the cracks have been sealed with lead or iron.
If you approach the northern doors, make INT save DC 16 or be unable to get closer than 20' away.

"If such protections are placed on such a door, are we certain we want to get anywhere close to it?" Cade asks, staying back from the glowing door and its arcane symbols."
Barney: Just as you think you understand something about the runes, they shift before your eyes into something seemingly complete different that makes no sense at all.

Barnabus says, "I can't quite make out what they say." He returns to the.others before continuing. "It makes me wonder though. Is this something The One wants locked up or is it something waiting to be freed by The One? I guess the only way to know is to keep looking. Lets keep moving." Barnabus goes to the south door and opens it just enough to peek through at what's on the other side.
Through the narrow gap you open in the southern set of doors, you are able to make out a 20' wide hallway extending further south, and that looks to branch both east and west about 10' beyond the doors.

Entranced by the glowing runes, Barnabas barely registers Cades warning as he tries to read the runes.
