You all wake up and check your surroundings, finding yourselves in a completely empty room. The room is approximately a 20ft cube with stone walls, no windows, and no doors. You see 3 other people you do not recognize, but before you can begin to speak to each other a disembodied voice begins to speak:
"Welcome, to my domain. Choose your path, learn from your mistakes, and fight your way out!"
As the voice finishes, you see two doors appear side by side in the previously blank wall in front of you. On one door you see an image depicting what appears to be a piece of chest armor. On the other door is a depiction of a sword emitting a faint, pulsing glow. Which door do you go through? (Discuss in the OOC thread then someone post here when a decision is made)
The four of us discuss a bit before Arona approaches the door with the sword. She cracks her knuckles, pulls her silver mask over her face, and opens the door for the rest of the group.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
As you step through the door you enter a similarly styled room as the previous one, still blank stone walls but this one is bigger: 40ft x 40ft with 20ft ceilings. You see three kobolds standing in a sort of arrowhead formation with one winged kobold flying above them; all four of them have weapons drawn and begin to move toward you with aggression.
Let me know if there's a marching order/lineup you prefer at the start of combat, but you can't start more than 5-10ft from the doorway (everyone is through the door as combat starts). PCs go first, so any of you who are ready and want to start can take your turn now.
Arona's eyes narrow above her mask as she mutters to the group "I'll take the one in the back." She then charges towards the Kobold in the back left of the room before leaping into the air and trying to jump kick the Kobold. As soon as she lands, she wastes no time in following up with a brutal uppercut.
(OOC: My style of combat posting is this... I describe my actions in a text paragraph (above) and then I show what I do mechanically and with the dice rolls below in a spoiler... This is just so that everyone knows where to look when I post in the future.)
Move Action: 20 feet closer to the Kobold in the back left stopping directly in front of him.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Viridi nails the kobold in front straight in the temple with a rock and you see the kobold's eyes roll back as it falls unconscious. As it impacts the floor, the body vanishes with a "poof" leaving no trace.
The winged kobold turns to look at Viridi after that showing, and flies over directly above her holding a rock about the size of a large human fist with both hands before attempting to drop the rock on her head.
Rácz steps to his left and hugs the wall along the entrance, as he pulls out his sling, he closes one eye to aim at the kobold flying above Viridi, marks it and fires.
Scal hisses at the kobolds in front of him as he starts casting a spell as 3 green orbs of force swirl around his head and then go streaking to impact the flying kobold while moving into the corner of the room.
For a moment Arona is frozen in place, the bruise on her arm already forming from the stone that was thrown at her and she is visibly torn between helping her new ally and felling the last kobold. Eventually, she mumbles to herself "Mercy can be given through life or death, but right now I choose life." She charges towards the unconscious Viridi before placing both her hands on the druid's head and trying to staunch the bleeding in her head.
Move Action: 20 feet down towards Viridi
Action: Medicine Check to stabilize Viridi (DC: 10) - 17
Bonus Action: Nothing

Scal's Magic Missiles impact the chest of the flying kobold, immediately knocking them unconscious. They begin plummeting toward the ground but the body disappears before it lands on Viridi's unconscious form.
Arona springs into action and is able to successfully stabilize Viridi. (Viridi you are stable and no longer have to make death saves, but you are still at 0 hit points.)
The last remaining kobold takes out a dagger and charges toward Scal, swinging wildly with the weapon.
Attack: 17 Damage: 5
Scal is able to dodge out of the way of the uncontrolled stab. Scal and Rácz are up now.
This will be the thread for the actual gameplay of this campaign. Once all characters are ready I'll make the first post here to kick things off!

Carefully, Racz follows Arona into the room. He looks around to see what's inside.
Perception: 12
Scal waits for the others to enter the room and then follows along behind, stepping just inside the door and to the right hugging the wall.
Viridi follows holding a few pebbles in her hand.
When players get creative.
Arona leads peering over her mask into the room and trying to discern where threats might come from.

Arona was at the head of the group, although she will defer if there was another group member that wants to go in front.

Viridi was in the back, not yet strong enough to be in the front. Could she have casted Magic Stone before the battle? Sorry forgot.

Sure, we can say you cast Magic stone as you were walking through the door.
No initiative right?
Due to me being fairly new to PbP's tell me if I'm doing something wrong.
Viridi walks 10 feet to the left and throws a magic pebble at the kobold in front. 20 to hit and for damage6.

Arona's jump-kick narrowly misses but the uppercut lands solidly, sending the kobold reeling backward before vanishing out of existence.
The last remaining walking kobold spins in fear to look at Arona and throws a small rock at her using their sling.

The winged kobold is able to duck out of the way of the projectile at the last moment and the attack narrowly misses.
Since all living kobolds have acted this round, Scal is up. After that, any of you will be free to act to start the next round.
