Silthras sighs, and gives his kerchief one last clean before stuffing it firmly up his sleeve.
"The sooner we see what we face, the better" he says.
He re-tightens the straps of his armour, checks his gear and readies his shield, then follows Sybil into the night, moving to keep abreast of her, scanning ahead for any threats.
"Do they every try to deceive, or is it always a frontal attack?" he asks, peering into the darkness, especially those areas with no light.

“썅!”Usul swears, half disappointed at missing drinks and snacks, and half about having to face the thread so early, as he hops down from the booth to where he’d set his bag. Throwing his quiver over his back, and grabbing his crossbow he starts to follow towards where the alarms are. On his way out he grabs a piece of meat that had now been abandoned from the table nearby and tosses it to his dog under the table telling him to stay. Following a bit behind the others though still listening to Sybil, he too keeps his eyes and ears out for threats ((perception 12)).
Arriving at the front lines, Usul finds a place near a wall a bit back from where the foot soldiers are holding a line. He’s more comfortable at range. Near the wall he creates an illusion of a barrel, or crate, or something that somewhat matches the area, not knowing if these undead are smart enough to realize if something seems out of place or not. He then ducks against the wall trying to calm his breathing and quiet his movements ((stealth 15)).
Urgoth calmly stands up moving to follow after Sybil, drawing his rapier within th first few steps. "Earlier then expected for a fight but let's begin."

With a nod, Kal gets up and follows the others out of the tavern. It wasn't an entirely unexpected development, better than being woken up in the middle of the night in any case. Leaving his shield off for now, he draws his longsword and listens carefully for the sounds of a fight up ahead.
Fauna jumps up with a start and follows suit, clutching her staff tightly to her chest with both hands until her knuckles turn white. As they walk, she attempts to side-step any stray puddles from the rain so as not to make any sounds, her pallid silhouette a ghostly contrast to the dreary night around them. Staying well behind the others, she readies her shield just in case as she peers out into the darkness ahead from her position at the rear.

To Silthras, the soldier quickly answers, "they've taken a liking to flanking. Some will go defend other weak points along the perimeter." With the five of you behind her, Sybil picks up the pace and breaks into a quick jog. People scramble in and out of buildings as you pass by, some throwing on armor or strapping on weapons as they take up planned positions throughout the town. Notably, you notice no one seems to be heading your direction. "The garrison is kept next to the keep on the west end, for protection of the Baroness. They'll be behind us soon. There will be a guard crew posted at the gate of at least two. Gods willing they're still alive when we get there." Sybil says over her shoulder, not bothering to hide the frustration in her voice.
In a few minutes, you begin to clearly make out the panicked cries of two men, and the low growls of the undead. Up ahead, you can make out the two guardsmen fighting for their lives as the walking corpses surround them. You can see a line of corpses leading from the gate, which has been smashed through, as the guards were pushed back into the town. The immediate area inside the gate is illuminated by torchlight, as are the surrounding buildings, beyond the gate - darkness. Among the undead you can see two figures, more horrifying than the rest. Their fingers are elongated, curving into wicked claws. And far from the expressionless features of most undead, you can make out a kind of rage in their eyes. As your group approaches, one lets out a wailing shriek as it slashes at a guardsman.

How this will work:
I'll roll initiative for you(as I have). As well as saving throws for the sake of keeping things moving. I'll update the initiative order in every post I make. If your name is in green you can go ahead and take your turn. If actions end up in conflict with another person's actions, I'll resolve it in order, and we'll move on from there.
The map will also be updated in every post. (it is in roll20, and I merely take a screenshot. If you feel it would be easier, I don't mind giving you all the link to the roll20 game in our OoC DM so you can move your own character at will instead of having to describe the movement to me).
Usul will need to rethink that last action. You're arriving in the midst of the fight, as opposed to showing up and then waiting for the fight to come to you.
If nothing needs to be fixed/commented/asked, first four are good to go!
Arriving with the others, Usul puts his back to the boxes and gasps as he sees the undead attacking. He can almost smell them from here! He takes a breath and sights down his crossbow, then pulls the strings a bit tighter and releases at the undead straight ahead of him. He then kneels down and begins to reload.
Bonus action: Steady Aim Action: Sharpshooter shot at the zombie in the same horizontal line as him: Attack: 14 Damage: 34
Usul's bolt zips through the air. As the zombie raises a fist to bring down onto the guard, the bolt slams into the side of its skull, piercing straight through. The corpse falls to the ground, twitches thrice, and then goes still.

So few defending...Kal thinks to himself briefly as they arrive at the scene. While the gnome instantly drops one to his right, the knight will run his hand along the flat of his blade and cast Divine Favor as he approaches one of the undead. A soft light blue glow now outlining the edges of the sword,"tread not where my light has burned" he utters quietly, arcing the blade with a two-handed swing towards the creature.

Silthras pauses when he first catches sight of the clawed creature attacking the guard, "Well...that's a sight!" he says.
With that, he grasps a small sliver of wood enblazoned with arcane markings, and focuses his mind. Calling upon the arcane powers he commands, he sends a magical bolt at the creature.
Attack: 13 Damage: 12, in case he has advantage (unseen) or disadvantage (dim light of enemy), another roll: 11
"Does anyone know what they are...other than ugly, of course?" he asks, before moving to the side, trying to remain in darkness while keeping sight of his intended victim.
(( Edit: if other attacks have already killed the clawed creature, he will target the other one attacking the same guard ))
((Edit2: Forgot bonus actoin, Hex, if I can retcon this, then add 2 necrotic damage to the attack, (hex), and give them disadvantage on dex savesstrength checks ))
"Stay weary of the clawed ones!" Fauna remarks not only to her companions but to the guards as well. Jumping into action, she closes her eyes and draws in a deep breath. "Evil souls of the dark that gather here... May these words only fall on wicked ears..." a small breeze begins to waft through her hair as she begins muttering an incantation. Opening her eyes with determination, she points her staff in the direction of all four creatures ahead of her.

A flurry of actions roll over the town's entrance, possibly turning the tide for the guardsman. As Kal's sword slices open a gash an undead, a bolt of silvery energy races from Silthras and slams into the clawed creature engaged with one of the guards.
With Fauna's spell, a cool breeze briefly blows from the west, freezing the water around the undeads' eyes and obscuring their vision.
((as a note to Fauna, I maxed out her movement to get in range, but the furthest enemy was still too far for the spell to reach. if that changes your action let me know))

Cursing the press of people that now obscure his once-clear view of his quarry, Silthras moves a little to the south and west to focus again on his target. Attack: 21 Damage: 8
Extra attack roll if Advantage (unseen) or Disadvantage (dim light): 15

Urgoth will move forward, getting as close as he can while still being able to be far enough for a clean shot at his target. Going between the guard and Sybil ewill cast Green-Flame Blade, his rapier alight with flames as he jabs it towards the undead.
Rapier: Attack: 17 Damage: 10
If it hits the other one diagonal from it takes 5 fire damage.
Green flames roll off the half-orc's sword as he stabs through one of the undead, burning the one next to it. His original target stumbles back, beginning to fall to the ground. A dark necrotic energy blazes in its however and it rights itself, slamming down on Kal with both fists in retaliation. ((11 points bludgeoning damage)).
The southernmost guard, bloodied from the last he took stabs forward with his spear, catching one of the clawed undead in the shoulder. The other undead just inside the gate dashes forward and slices his throat open with one swing, missing Sybil with its other clawed hand. The guard's spear falls from his fingers and he drops to the ground, convulsing.

Witnessing all the commotion around her, Fauna retreats backwards to distance herself from the action. It swings to attack as it brings down it's full force.
