Action 2
(Retconning & editing out the first part of this post as per Zoldier’s comment below, I think I now understand how this post format works.)
Action 3
Nearly sure they were about to witness another display of ostentatious money pandering, Danse casually kept his eye out, admiring the sleight of hand tricks the woman entering seems to perform. At least Danse can respect someone else in the trade. Curious, he raised an eyebrow, being the first to select card number 5, flicking it to his other hand in a way that begets his own experience handling card tricks.
(Tiny nitpick, but the above should be tagged in action #3 (scene 3) as each action relates to a specific event(s) in each chapter)
(Also since the fortune teller's arrival occurred in action #3, feel free to RP (if you'd like) Danse's card tricks. It would continue in action #2 which occurs before Zellara arrived)
"The name's Danse. Danse Macabre, or so I'm called. I'm not the one who organized this meeting, but please - I don't possess a mind for idle greetings. Humor me by taking a card, whichever one draws you, hm? I find it might introduce you to me in a more expedient manner than words."
Kurstin is the first to reach across the table to draw on the Harrow cards offered by Danse. 57"Hmm...The Big Sky. Wonder what that means?"
Chp3-Act3 After drawing one of Danse's cards, Kurstin just shrugs and picks one of the nine cards from Zellara's family Harrow deck (4) but he bumps Danse's hand as he was reaching for the same card. "Sorry..." he mumbles, then quickly grabs another one (6).
Looking at it, he laughs nervously and exclaims, "Blackjack! Hahahaha!!"

Action 3
Radgar watches the woman cautiously. Ostentatious airs and flamboyant dresses made the dwarf suspicious, but as she spoke of a place where children were taken he leaned in 'Aye, I've heard of just such a thing I have.' nodding his head, satisfied that the fortune teller knew he knew at least as much as she did.
Waiting until the others had begun drawing cards, the dwarf would reach forward and touch first one card (2) and then another (6), hesitating before finally settling in on 1 the last card he touched, pulling it across the table towards him.
Danse smiled. "Oh! Look at that - I see the a cloudless might sky, just like the depths of your eyes. Perhaps, after a storm of turmoil, your life finds itself in a dull, yet peaceful, moment." Danse pondered for a moment before he snatched another card off the table, his smile widening. "How grand, my friend!" He turned the card, revealing the twenty first - the Sun. "I foresee the sun in your life casting light on the darkness of your life." Danse then pantomimed narrowing his eyes at the card. "Interesting...the meadows are riddled with dew and wind. You have bright times ahead of you, my friend, but not after the proverbial storm builds and breaks! Who's next?" Danse finished, sweeping his arm in a gesturing motion to the members of the table. I guess it's vague enough.
Brock would wave away the deck of cards while taking another drink of wine.
Action 3
Brock would reach out his hand and take the 9th card after seeing Radgar decide against it. Once he had taken the card he would flip it over and give it a long hard look.
Action #002: Kaisaras draws a card from the mastermind of that day's meeting.
Ignoring the card offered by Danse, believing such things to be baseless superstition at best, and con-work at worst. He does however reach over to draw from their host's deck, more so for general politeness than anything. However, rather than risk chance, Kai took the first (1) card. He didn't speak as he did so, simply watching the woman and the others, waiting to see what more information she might offer up for the task at hand.
Already it was clear to him that this was a task force assembled by related goals, but now that it coming to this point, all the more reason for him to put up his guard. He needed Gaedren alive...well, alive long enough to give proper testimony or direct him to the true culprit. However, from the sounds of it, there were already two members who wanted to kill the man the moment they laid eyes on him...he would need to be careful and quick to get his confession.
Having pulled his card, he glanced at its face, before uncaringly twirling it in his fingers to face it out to both the woman and the rest of the table. He had no knowledge of such things and their meaning, not did he really care for it, but he wouldn't insult the people he was to work with for such petty reasons.
Chp3 Act1 Getting to Know You, Getting to Know All About You She says nothing for a few long moments as she stares deeply into Kurstin’s pure black eyes, not the slightest hint of unease with their more than unusual appearance. Kurstin's manufactured mirth melted away as her gaze extended beyond a glance, and he sat up a little straighter in his chair. “This card truly speaks to who you are in this moment. Precariously balanced and pulled in too many directions. That will soon change for you in unexpected ways,” she tells the lad with a few affirmative nods.
Kurstin can only nod back in response, now truly impressed by Zellara's ability to discern so much about him from a single card pulled at random from a stack. He really was juggling too many things in his life - classes, his new skill in artificing, searching for his sister, the few friends he still had left, his family slowly dissipating in their own anguish and desperation...but the thought of losing any of these things scared him more than reassured him.
Act3 The Choosing Kurstin pulls his original invitation out of his pocket, and lays it down on the table again - The Wanderer. The same card as drawn for the future column. He looks at the others around the table , ending with Radgar. "I just want to find my sister and bring her home. But I will join this group to stop Lamm and maybe save other kids from this fate. I may not be the strongest," he glances at Brock, "or the most skilled in swordfighting," and now he looks at Danse, "but I have connections at the College, and I've learned some very useful skills and created a few interesting items that will be useful for this endeavor."
Chapter #3: Kaisaras had a small smile under his scarf mask, this woman hinting at his identity was hardly surprising to him, considering how she tracked them all down and even had the message to gather delivered to him. He didn't attribute this to some mystical power however, she herself said it was an effort of paying for information and some of her magic. Divination magic certainly existed, but Kai was hard pushed to believe that the future could be predicted in any accurate manner that truly matters or makes a difference. The future was for the people in the present to decided, no one else's.
Listening to Zellara's explanation, he didn't pay much mind to the mystical showmanship of the card reading but did focus on her words. He didn't know how much of her words were actual intel, and what was mystical-bluff/guesswork, but if she wanted to play her game, he would allow her. Some information, even lies or whispers, was better than nothing. Once she was finished with her reading and request, Kai couldn't help but raise an amused eyebrow, 'This woman would make a decent courtesan. She already knows that we'll agree, but asks anyway to make herself more appealing and empathetic. Shame, she showed her hand far too early.' Kai's eyes turned to Kurstin as he accepted, making note of his College connections, on top of his earlier mentions of his creative prowess. Turning to the group as a whole, Kai nodded and spoke up, still maintaining his false accent and persona, "I'd also be coming along. Lamm's got lots to answer for, and I'd like to see that everyone gets their cut from him, a quick death, with his secrets dying with him, is too good for him, and unfair for the people he leaves behind."
Brock would have been quiet during the majority of the woman's reading, nodding along and drinking from the bottle of wine. when she gets yo his card ge would sit up a little straighter. "Hope you like knives? What's so funny? what does that mean? I know how to use most weapons but I't rather just use my fists."Brock replies with look of confusion.
action 3
Yeah I'll help ya get him. I'd rather kill him quick then giv'em even the smallest chance to escape... but I suppose If I have to I could pull my punches a bit."
Radgar is silent and pensive as the Harrowing takes place, taciturn by nature, the dwarf is skeptical of this 'mystic' and her intentions. He nods as she addresses him directly 'Hmph. Patience is always the key to making good steel. Building the heat before the final quenching is what creates the strength ye need to meet the moment.
Radgar meets the young artificer's eyes and nods solemnly. 'Aye, I'll join as well. To free the children and stop others from being taken.'
As the mystic takes her leave, the dwarf looks about the table at the others. 'Oi. I suppose there's no time like the present to get started, and no reason to give this bastard anymore time to hurt others. I say let's be about it.'
(OOC; Radgar uses Blessing of the Forge every morning to bless his armor.)
"Right, Let's go." Brock would say as he stands out and rolls his shoulders and neck. After a few loud pops and cracks he would make his way towards the door. While heading out he'd look over towards the blacksmith and artificer. "So if I wanted to get some kind of rings or steel knuckles that could make my punches sting a bit more... do either of you think ya could help me out with that?" He'd ask with a wink.
Kurstin stands when the reading is done, following Brock. When the large man asks about enhancing his punches, Kurstin, looks at the man's hands, then gazes off into the distance and scrunches his face in concentration. "I think with some study and practice, I can probably help with that. It may take me a little while, but I will research the best combination of artificing runes to add some extra punch to your...punch..."
