“If it’s treasure you’re after we’re off to a good start.”Korba says “So close to where we started and already something not found by all those who came before.”He then pushes off the wall, ready to head inward and says “Though I’d planned to come down here alone, I must admit, it seems will all have our strengths.”Then looking to the sword in his hand quietly adds “... and weaknesses.”
Looking Westwards he adds “We’ve only just begun. Perhaps your Pocket should scout ahead. She’s quiet and quick.”
((About the gemstones - the "9" was the roll to determine the type. There were only 5 five whiteish-grey colored gemstones. I totally wrote it in a confusing way.))
Cami, you aren't sure about the 5 gemstones. They seem in nice shape though and might be desired by a merchant who deals in such things. Or not.

I think it would be just a straight INT check since these are just run of the mill gemstones, and not attached to any type of lore, or magic or deeper purpose or meaning. You either know what they are, or you don't. However, either way with the proficiency bonus added you still don't know what they are.

(It helps that I completely missed the "five" and only read the "9".)
"I'm not after treasure... I'm after a big discovery." Cami explains, being a little vague as it seems not even she is sure of what she's looking for. "It's too soon for me to be expecting that much out of our adventure, as we still have ways to go, but I did just enter the sewers' waters for what is probably just gonna amount to a few coins at the market."
As Cami was taking her backpack and Bag of Holding, Pocket was on the floor waiting for their owner. Finally, once Cami is done, Pocket returns to her shoulder, perching there in silence. She looks over in the same direction as Korba. "I was already intending on doing that, and I'm all ready to go, so we might as well be going now. Oh, Pocket's not a she, by the way."
"That's wrong as well..." Cami says, feeling no obligation to explain it. "I shall let them head to scout ahead, yes." She leaves the hallway that leads to the secret room and back into the dungeon's main path. That's when, assuming they'd be heading west next, Cami sends Pocket down that path, hoping her familiar will be quiet enough to go unnoticed.
Pocket goes flapping quite loudly into the room with the pillars, the one that Korba had a peek into but didn't enter. This room is filled with pillars.
Cami, through Pocket, you see another corridor continuing west, although it is oddly shaped. There is a very long corridor west as well.
There is a skeleton of a giant constrictor snake coiled up at the top half of the northernmost pillar.
The words “Certain death this way!” are carved in Common on the southeast wall, with an arrow pointing toward the southern exit.
Secret check: 16
That's all you get from Pocket. (assuming owl/Cami doesn't have passive perception equal to or greater than that number)
Will you fly Pocket further west past the pillar room? Or south? Or will one or all of you now go in the room as well?
Ok, so along with all of that information above, Pocket also notices what Cami would likely recognize from her experience as bugbears. You see 2 sprinting way down the south passageway about to vanish to the east.
Please roll initiative if you would like to chase them. If not, no roll is required as they are fleeing. Downstream things in the game may happen if they get away, of course. Also, there could be reasons why this wasn't your normal type of 'surprise' ambush. Maybe you will find out why later.
Map is updated!
(I will roll bugbears if you guys decide to chase/roll. I'm not rolling for you guys because I can't make that big of a post right now, and you may not even want to chase them.)
Cami doesn't make a decision immediately, which means the bugbears would probably have a head start, but it was more important to know what the others would choose. She asks the two of them who are near her. "I see two bugbears fleeing on the south pathway. Should we go after them? I can't hear you, so if you want to follow them, pull me by the hand with you."
((Yes, they will have moved further down the passageway, but initiative is still possible as long as you don't have long discussions about it. Needs to be a quick (PbP relative!) decision that happens in that moment after Cami relays the info.))
Frilvoril holds out his hand for the group to wait, "They are running away, so they probably already know that we are here. Charging after them now gives us no advantage. Instead, let us sneak down quietly and perhaps we can get the jump on them and whomever they were running away too."

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Korea nods in agreement “There seems to need for a chase. And while they may, in truth, end up as foes, not all members of a race are enemies. Shall we be off in that direction?”
Cami's hearing the conversation through Pocket who's not that far away. She just thought she'd be unable to hear them because her awareness isn't always the greatest. "Okay. I'd be careful. I saw something written on the wall through Pocket. We should read it again as we pass through there before we decide it's a good idea to go the same way they went."
"Let's see what it says then." Korba says, heading into the chamber to read the words. Seeing 'certain death this way', he adds with a smirk "Well that almost sounds like an invitation. Shall we?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cami follows Korba and looks at the text again. "Oh. I didn't commit to memory what I read through Pocket... I was more focused on the bugbears. I don't know if it sounds like an invitation to me, though, more like a threat that falls flat since if there was any danger there, no one would put a warning for it." Cami explains her logic, absorbed in her reasoning for a second before she looks at the others again. "I'm sending Pocket in, right now."
Just like that, Pocket who was staying in the chamber waiting for the others takes flight and heads inside the southern hallway, and maybe this time, Pocket would live to its expectation as an owl and be quiet.
You all head into the larger pillar chamber. The bugbears seem to be gone from the south passage now.
Pocket gracefully flies down the south passageway. It's almost like the owl is floating in a sound proof room as it flaps its wings silently through the air.
It reaches the end of the passage and follows it west. Cami, through Pocket's eyes, you can see that the passageway is a dead end, except there is a tunnel that has been dug into the passageway wall which is a 5-foot-wide, 5-foot-high tunnel that meanders through collapsed stone.
There is also a dead goblin on the floor in front of the tunnel along with some digging tools. Pickaxes, shovels and the like.
(can you confirm that Pocket's range is 100ft? It still has some range, but I wanted to pause here so the party can digest what Cami has now seen.)
Cami explains everything she saw and then stops looking through Pocket's eyes. Pocket is commanded to just sit there and wait. "If you want to have Pocket get inside the tunnel, we should probably walk into this hallway. If they get too far, I won't be able to see through their eyes, and I don't know how deep this tunnel goes."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Korba heads down the tunnel and stepping over the goblin’s body, looks into the cave ((perception 4)). As Cami follows he says “send it further in. It’s likely someone is using goblins as slave labor to dig. But for what purpose is hard to know yet.” As the owl flies in, he continues, pondering “I wonder how these creatures get down here. There must be more entrances than the Yawning Portal above.”
