Slurb's sudden outburst, along with the Magic Missiles, silence the Inquistors and the Watch. Jack and Limine take the opportunity to weigh in, and their words seem to have quite some effect on the group.
After a momentary silence, the Inquistors grudgingly nod their heads. "Now that you say it, we know who you are. I guess we can allow you to take a look, as you seem to have some experience in exorcism. But after you are finished, you must allow us to complete our rituals here."
They move to the side and wait, muttering to themselves.
One of the guards raises an eyebrow as he speaks to Jack. "The Captain sent you? Well, tell him Walsh says thanks. We really have a lot on our hands here, and we can use all the support we get."
He points to the broken down door, as Jack notices the rank on the Walsh's pauldron- the stripes of a sergeant.
"I'll accompany you into the house, if you don't mind. We have to make a report to the captain, and I've got to make sure nobody tampers with the scene."
Meanwhile, Vadania tries to calm Sybil, but to no avail. "It-it came in the night, and destroyed everything. They're dead! My husband is gone, my baby is gone..."
Sybil completely breaks down, failing to hold back her horror from the events of last night. Though her daughter attempts to comfort her, it seems that no more information can be learned from her.
As all this is happening, the dogs behind the house continue to bark and howl.
"Limine, Slurb, mind taking a look with the Sergeant here? I'm gonna take a look out back and see if I can't get those dogs to shut up. They're driving me nuts."
Vadania continues to hug the grieving widow a bit longer. She turns to the daughter and asks her, "What came in the night? We will hunt it down and make it pay. I promise."

"No worries, you can do any ritual you want after we're done." Limine looks back at the rest of the group and the family. 'There's no point in splitting yet. I will need them to protect me in case something attacks.' She thinks. "Can you wait just a moment?" She says to the ones around her. "I want to try something."
Limine walks forward and crouches in front of the boy. She tries to look in his eyes before she speaks, but since his eyes are fixed on the flame, she decides to try a different approach. She hesitates for a moment. The last time she tried testing it, the things she saw were... She touches her bonnet as if moving it to a more comfortable position. "Please, tell me what's on your mind. What did you see?"
Sulskan heads to the back of the house with Jack. "Hey, my name is Sulskan. Sorry we didn't meet earlier, I got a little lost in my thoughts. I am pretty good with animals, so I'll come with and see if I can get the dogs to tell me their secrets." As they head around back, Sulskan mutters a few words under his breath and draws upon his connection with nature to open a channel of communications with beasts for a short period of time. Once he he has the spell up, he begins translating the dogs' barks back to Jack.

A doorbell sounds followed by some hushed voices. A singular female scream and the crashing of wood. The boy's hand lights a lantern, and the darkness is dispelled. He leaves his room as his hand trembles .
"Vivienne? Uncle Thomas?" the boy timidly whispers.

The memory cuts away. The only image that remains is the shifting flame of a lantern.
Limine realizes that the boy's mind has repressed the thoughts, and that is all she can glean from a surface reading. Unless she wishes to probe deeper...
Next to Limine, Vadania speaks to the young girl. She shakes her head and wipes away her tears before she speaks.
"I don't know, it was too dark! I woke up in the middle of the night in my room when I heard the doorbell ring. I figured it must have been Pa, since he spends some nights in town and gets home pretty late. Then, I heard my uncle and cousin get up to open the door- their rooms are on the ground floor. After that..."
She cuts herself short, and simply weeps. After a while, she's able to compose herself to keep going.
"I saw the light of a lantern- I think that was Jacques, but when the screaming started, he immediately ran to his room and shut the door. Then, the thing started climbing the staircase. I heard the floorboards creak as it walked past my room, but it didn't go in. Instead, it went further down the hallway, where the baby slept. The last thing I heard was another crash as the back door was broken down. Then the hounds started howling..."
Jack and Sulskan go to the back, where three large hounds are chained to the back porch. The back door has also been broken down, but the hounds bark in the direction of the forest.
Sulskan:
Due to his spell, Sulskan can understand a bit of the barks mean. The dogs are completely agitated due to some horrible reeking odor in the area, though it's undetectable to humanoid senses.
Also, a few words can be translated from their animalistic barking.

Jack scans the tree-line and notices signs that something big has recently crashed through bushes and branches as it heads deeper into the forest. Not only that, his survival training allows him to spot a set of tracks heading into the woods. Whoever left those tracks appears to have been only wearing one shoe, as half of the set is of a bare foot while the other half is the soles of a large boot.
Sulskan approaches the hounds to speak to them as they suddenly turn to him, sniffing the air around him. They arch their barks and growl at Sulskan, looking at him suspiciously.
Sulskan:
The dogs bark back at Sulskan. "Who are you? You aren't Master. You too smell...weird."
Meanwhile, Limine continues probing deeper in the poor boy's mind.
Limine breaks open the barrier that shuts away those terrible memories.
The boy descends the staircase with his lantern in hand. He gasps as he sees the bodies of his cousin and uncle on the floor, in a pool of blood. The cousin is still moving, a look of terror in her eyes. She points to the back door, and the boy turns his head and sees...it.
In the broken doorway stands a large, hunched over simian figure carrying a baby in it's arms. The figure turns around and stares at the boy with two inhuman red eyes, and though his memory of it's face is blurry, Limine senses a flicker of recognition in the boy's thoughts. The figure's mouth gapes open as if to smile, revealing teeth covered in blood.
The boy runs back up the staircase, and the memory fades to black.
