Limine retreats from the boy's mind. (I'll roll intelligence in case you had another reason to ask for it, but she will end the spell regardless. 5) "I'm sorry." She whispers to him as she picks up the lantern and pushes it towards him. "Indeed," she replies to Vadania, "let's go." Then, to the inquisitor that came closer: "Sorry, I tried asking him some question... I guess he was not ready to bring those memories up just yet. Poor child."
The Inquisitor seem to be pretty suspicious regarding Limine's explanation. Vadania notices that the other Inquisitor, who did not approach the party, seems to have been watching Limine's "questioning" the whole time. The Inquisitors regroup and mutter to each other, pointing at Limine's bonnet.
With Limine out of his mind, the boy calms down again and returns to staring into the comforting light of the lantern.
Sulskan hands the dogs a bit of his rations, which finally gets the dogs to shut up.
(A slot of rations has been deducted from the group's total gear)
Sulskan:
The dogs respond to Sulskan's question.
"Master left in the afternoon yesterday and chained us here. We were waiting for him, but in the night, the creature came. It broke everything and took the little human pup. It smelled horrible, yet, it smelled a bit like Master too..."
(Is Vadania, Limine, and Slurb entering the house through the front door?)
Vadania would like to explore the house but as a group. Splitting up is dangerous. She even says, "Let us all move forward together. Splitting up is dangerous in these lands."
Hearing Vadania's request, Sulskan voices his agreement, "I agree." He then follows Vadania and Limine into the house carrying his two hand-axes. As soon as he believes they have some privacy from the Inquisitors, he relays the information that he got from the dogs as well as his assessment, "Is it possible that the beast is none other than Farmer Rutherford, although he may have been afflicted by some kind of disease?"

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Vadania sounds grim. She says, "It could be very possible. Lycanthropy perhaps? We may need to silver our weapons then as normal weapons tend to not be very effective against them."
"That's an interesting theory. From what the boy ah... told me, the figure he saw was simian, which is quite similar to humans. Also, it seemed as if he recognised the thing, though I couldn't get any more information. The thing killed the others as far as the boy could tell, but it was holding a baby that didn't seem like it was part of the meal, at least back then."
"It is indeed very strange. I have not heard of any ape-like Lycanthrope. Perhaps things will become more clear once we explore the house itself?" She turns to Slurb and Jack and says, "Shall we proceed then?"
"If there's nothing left here, ya, sure. I found some tracks, and this thing seems big so it shouldn't be too hard to follow this thing. I also had an idea on how to find it but uh, well if we wanted to surprise it, that would be out the window."
"If it really is a lycanthrope of some sort, then I am guessing that most forms of stealth are going to be out the window. Those creatures have unparalleled senses of smell and it is unlikely that we would be able to launch a surprise attack. Especially given my armor situation." As Sulskan says this, he jostles his armor and as the scales rattle against each other, it is clear that they make enough noise to impede any attempt at stealth.

"Based on Sulskan's ...translations? Of the hounds, they seem to still have their master's scent. I'm sure if we let them loose, they'd find him quick. Whether it's their master at the end of the trail or something else entirely remains to be seen but it would be the fastest, and noisiest route to whatever this 'simian beast' is. Or we could attempt to track him by the trail of destruction its left, provided it's still leaving us convenient foot prints to follow."
"That's a good idea. We could find him, but then we have to deal with the beast... Or what their master has become." Slurb shivers, he remembers the horror of the last time they investigated something like this.

"Perhaps, but the dogs might also turn on us the moment they see their master. I think we need more information first, we should investigate the house. Besides, if the thing really is the farmer, perhaps we can find a way to turn him back to normal? From my personal experience, blasting the head off of every enemy isn't always the best strategy." She glances over to Slurb. "It almost tore our search-and-destroy party apart last time someone just killed a person too hastily."

I don't think, however, that we should decide on the verdict before investigating all the pieces of evidence first. A madman attacking us was, for me, clear evidence of danger. A danger that had to be stopped."
