Thinking he’s doing a good job figuring it all out, Ted is pretty pleased with himself. However, multitasking is not one of Ted’s fortes and he is oblivious to the world around him as he focuses on which way round he needs to put the tent up.
"Yes I'll join you," Zira agrees to tbe sleeping arrangement while Gen plans to sleep with the other scouts.
Garron and Ted are far too involved in their tasks to notice a thing. While together Erika, Ted, and Areon put together a fine camp within minutes of the sunset they managed to pitch all four tents, setup the cooking cauldron, and even create a semi blind from the distraction of the road that obscures most of the party from sight while around the fires from lingering travelers on the road. Although the rain has begun it's merely a drizzle but the party is well position beneath the canopy of the fairy ring that rain barely makes it though!
All the while they work Erika keeps an ear and eye out for trouble but it's Trixi and Areon that notice a fire just southwest of the campfire across the road about 70ft away spring up. Figures with horses are making no attempts not to be heard or seen they start to play music that wafts over the road towards the party's camp. The other campsites around however are hundreds of feet away or in the distance where only fire light can be seen in the darkening twilight. As for camp itself it's easy set up so is the evening meal. The three heavily armed and armored mercenaries keep distance from the Institute members. They take their meal separate and insist on sleeping rough.
Gen and Zira look over the party as they eat while the two scribes and two scouts make themselves useful by checking on the horses.

From the corner of her eye Trixi noticed the dancing fire in the distance and squinted at the figures. "For the bandits they are quite flashy."When "the other camp" begun playing music and nobody in their place bat an eye on it she shrugged and returned to the camp duties, but after a while (during the supper, when both handlers joined the party) decided to ask Zira and Gen: "Are those our competitors? Some treasure hunters?" She pointed at the closest camp first and then at the lights far away. "Should we say hello?"
"I'm all for making new friends," Garron says hesitantly, "But perhaps we should leave them to their own devices, even what seems friendly can quickly turn into a conflict if they realize who we are and what we are after."
If the party decides to approach anyways, Garron will accompany them, but he will stay towards the back and let someone else do the introductions.
Noticing Aeron sneak off to take a closer look at them, he nods and says, "Let us at least wait until Aeron gets back, and if he says the coast is clear then maybe we can swing by and introduce ourselves."

Areon disappears from view of the party and peers across the distance 60ft away now in the cover of the fairy ring he can count six figures who are moving around their camp and playing music. They don't seem to be performing any sort of nefarious activities but they can carry a tune. Listening to the song it's about a bear and a maiden who tamed it. He's at a disadvantage however too far away in the trees to notice anything else at this distance safely hidden in the trees. He'll have to leave the shelter of the fairy ring that shields him from the rain too and travel over the road to see any finer details about the jovial seeming group of musicians.
"Fellow travelers,? No goid assuming the worst. I cannot see them bit for their number which is small enough," Zira replies to Trixi. "Where's Areon gone? He's keen for a fight I think," Zira says sighing looking around for the half-elf having realized he's disappeared from view. She then looks to Garron and Erika after their comments. "We aren't in hiding but we aren't looking for new friends either," she warns. "We've enough fire power to put anyone off and we haven't got anything really worth dying for...well yet," she adds to Trixi again smirking.
"Well, what's everyone say to a game of cards before bed and first watch eh," Gen asks beaming as the cleric pulls a set of well loved cards from his pack. "The music is lively enough though if you'd prefer a dance," the bronze dragonborn adds smiling softly to Zira who hoots with laughter at her companion.
"Deal the cards," Zira retorts as Gen begins to shuffle the deck of cards chuckling.

Garron usually avoids cards as he prefers to stick to games of strategy, but as long as the bets stay low he doesn't mind playing a bit. Waiting for Aeron to return, he takes a seat around when Gen is shuffling. "You'll have to fill me in on the exact rules," Garron says to Zira with a smile, "but I'm game."
Garron's First Card:

Garron glances down at his first card and frowns, "Are we going for the high card or low?" He asks Zira with a stoic expression. Regardless of the answer, he'll play this first set. He tosses 2 GP into the pot as a starting bet and glances around at the other players while he waits for his next card. He glances up and calls to Dreadbane, "Hey Dreadbane, come sit next to me. I think it's time I lightened your purse a little. Besides, your legs have to be tired from all that work." He says the last part with a smirk and unmistakable sarcasm.

"I'll toss in my lot. See who the luckiest of us." Molle chuckles. She sits down next to Erika, though angles herself to try and better keep her hand a secret.

She looks down at her hand, and tries to keep her features neutral (Deception: 9). After a moment, she tosses a gold piece into the pot. "Can't say I've gambled much. Though sometimes people would gamble on games of dragonchess. My old lot were an odd bunch sometimes."
Ted smirks at Garron’s cajoling “Ooh, such sass! I never thought you had it in you Garron. As I’ll have you know, I’ve been saving my strength for carrying the weight of all your coins, since you insist on practically handing them to me now.” He feigns offence, but behind his eyes Ted seems to be proud of Garron’s jibes, nothing like a good sparring match.

As Ted sits down next to Garron and takes his card he muses, “This should be fun. Playing cards in the city is a dangerous game, at least with the folk I’m used to. Most people would cheat themselves into losing, as winning against the wrong person could lose you your fingers. Of course, I had no fear, kept my winnings and all ten of these babies.” He shows off his intact digits twinkling his fingers as he passes his hands over his face like a showman.
As expected, nothing to worry about. Zira did not answer the question about who that could be, that was telling enough - nobody to pay much attention too. Yet, Aeron wasout there and Trixi, who did not get into the card games - something too alien to her anyway, left the players to their game and went to fetch the ranger.
Rain and cold did not frightened her, but were welcome actually, and if Aeron left the friendly warmth of the camp, she would not hesitate to go after him, looking intently into the night.

The guy certainly knew how to hide! Trixi contemplated the words "we are not looking for any friends" and decided not to go to the other camp. Just quietly called into the darkness, in hope Aeron's hearing was as good: "Aeron? You can return now. Zira says no need to check up."
Garron smirks at Dreadbane's story and keeps silent. He is not quite as talented as the others at reading intentions or deceiving others, so silence will be a useful tool during the game. He does respond to Dreadbane's prod though and says, "I hope I won't lose any of my fingers when I beat you... Although I'm not quite sure you'd be able to take them..." As he says this he looks Dreadbane up and down, as if sizing him up and then chuckles good-naturedly.
With that, he sits back in his chair hiding his card and keeping a straight face while waiting for Zira to further explain the rules.
