Polly, now looking like herself again, leans back against a stone wall as she arrives back at the cellar in front of the princess. In the middle of talking, she disguises herself as the cloaked Dragonborn man she saw at the house, and then back to herself. “Well, it could have gone better. I knocked on the door looking like an attractive suitor calling on him. This person opened the door, does he look like the leader of the city? He didn’t say. He called the guards when we tried to snoop in the rest of the house, and it was a close call getting away. Then we scooped up these folks at the market and came back here. If I saw the lord of the city and can impersonate him, then great, the plan proceeds apace. If I saw someone else, then maybe I can just pretend to be carrying the letter for him. Otherwise I’m open to ideas.”
Lirah gives a slight frown "He sent the guards after you? That was definitely Rhun."
Polly is eager for any details of Rhun - title, manner, personality, relationship with the king, habits, literally anything the princess remembers.
She also asks for a reminder of what the forged letter says.
"Uh, I'm.. not.. too.. sure about his exact traits, but again, he is the leader of Remnant. He hates to be bothered, but he shows his respect to the ki- er, my father you have to unless you want to spend a year in the dungeon. I am not sure about his habits or personality other than how narcissistic he is. That's all I know about him."
You were successfully able to copy the leader's handwriting into an invitation for you and your acquaintances to get into Semun Castle. Looks like enough to fool the guards.
If Polly is just pretending to be Rhun, then should we have the letter say something else?

Maybe. Like a reason he is at the castle or something?
To Mason and Halfast "Do either of you want me to disguise you in some way?"
"I have the ability to be invisible do you think that would help or is that too dangerous. I would have to wear my less protective armor or I would be given away immediately. Might be too dangerous. I can just be a noble friend. I look official enough. I could make Halfast invisible though." Turning to Halfast he says, "what do you think? You look like you could do some pretty good sneaking and be available if anything happens."
Maybe. Like a reason he is at the castle or something?
"If Rhun is in the castle there is no need for a letter. Maybe we should use the letter as plan A. Then if things go haywire we have plan B where Polly could sneak away, and arrive as Rhun who is angry his delegation is not handled respectfully?"
"Right, the guards..." she sits there pondering for a moment "I have an idea. But do any of you know how to forge handwriting?"
What do you have in mind?
She takes out a letter, signed in very neat handwriting. "This was a letter from the leader of this city. I uh... borrowed... it... from him. You could use this to forge an invitation to meet the king."
Caya turns to Lirah. "If you aren't sure this cellar is safe, I could put you under the protection of the Linxakasendalor clan. If you bear a letter with my signet seal, they'll offer you refuge. Up to you." She smiles at the princess, happy to help a fellow dragonborn should the need arise.
She smiles back at you. "Thank you, but I'll just be resting here for now. This may not be the safest or cleanest place, but I've been hiding out here since I was a child. I'll be fine here for the moment, but I think later that will be safer."
(The forgery is based on Rhun's handwriting, so it would be a letter of introduction to the King from the Rhun)
"I think we have two options now that Polly has seen Rhun. We can have someone use their true royal connection and the letter to try and gain an audience or Polly can pretend to be Rhun and we can make his yearly homage to the king if it is the right time for that event." Turns and looks at princess for confirmation.
"Shifting into Rhun could be the backup. We all go in as messengers from Rhun carrying the letter, and I look like a boring messenger. We can check out the state of the castle and the court on the way. If we get in to see the king, great. If not, I 'change back into Rhun' right there and reveal it was a ruse and I'm really Rhun, and say I demand to see the king right away."Polly says, sitting on the floor, elbows on knees, ticking through options on her fingers.
"The question is what do we do when we get to the king. Best case scenario is we get in there unmolested and have a chance to talk to him. We, pretending to be members of Rhun's group, then ask him to stop the war? Can we say that we speak for you, princess?"
Once she's gotten in a short rest, Polly starts to get antsy and is eager to get going.
"I don't think that would be a good idea. Don't forget that I'm missing, and if you say you're speaking for me, it'll make you look like your hiding me from them."
"What if we modified the plan to if we don't get in to see the king, we leave and come back with Polly disguised as an angry Ruhn, upset that he is having to make the trip to the castle?"
Brightmoon turns to the princess "Can you give us any reason Ruhn would send his underlings to visit your father?"
To the party, "Turner is right, if we don't have a good reason, I think we should revert back to the letter of introduction for one of us with royal connections elsewhere. The best disguise is based on at least a kernel of truth."
"I think I should go as an adviser to Rhun portrayed by Polly here. And believe Mason would be the butler if I remember correctly.
I say, we take a short breather for those who need that and then we're off to the Castle Town Ruins"
Lirah gives a slight frown "He sent the guards after you? That was definitely Rhun."
"I wasn't aware you knew Rhun that well, princess. Do you know anything else about him or his mannerisms?"
To Mason and Halfast "Do either of you want me to disguise you in some way?"

Lot's of stuff ...

He rewrites the letter while Polly and the rest take a short rest.
"I don't think that would be a good idea. Don't forget that I'm missing, and if you say you're speaking for me, it'll make you look like your hiding me from them."
"The plan sounds great, but can Ruhn change his appearance? It might seem suspicious if he can't."
"From what I know, no, he has no magic within him."
"What if we modified the plan to if we don't get in to see the king, we leave and come back with Polly disguised as an angry Ruhn, upset that he is having to make the trip to the castle?"
"I like that idea. Why exactly is Ruhn/his underlings visiting the castle, though? We need to get a believable story."
Lirah puts a hand on her head "Hmm..... If... you guys are... planing to stop the war, maybe you could have a, uh,... proposal... about the war?"
