Following behind Polly: "I like your style Polly. You can call me Tuner."
Still in disguise he follows along, curious what the princess's story is. "Talking sense into people is what I do. And any ploy that can end this stupid war I will take with both hands. Tell me when and where and I'll be there!" Tuner says a bit agitated. "What I believe in is that this war should end sooner rather than later."
"Well, he said he wanted this land to start anew, probably to fall like this kingdom. I'm going to be staying here, because the castle doesn't feel safe anymore, first my father has lost his mind, second, even the guards seem to be insane, so please take caution in there. Please, just try to talk some sense into him. He may be able to turn this war around."
Brightmoon heard the scream and headed toward the tent, not running, but with haste. He had used this diversion technique before to entrap another spy. He watches the altercation and then follows the group to the ruins when he recognizes the woman he had been following. He chuckles at the half-elf's admonition of the orcs and thinks to himself that being a thief is sometimes a noble profession. He hears Caya's question, but decides to gather information and listen for the moment.
Mason is about to grab the ruffians and tie them up when the group begins to follow the ... oh, it is the missing princess! He leaves the orcs in statuesque pose and follows. He is cautious as the climb the rubble and then enter the broken down castle.
Hearing the princess's request he says "First why would you trust a task of this magnitude to a ..." He looks at the group and sighs "... group of misfits like us who don't even know each other? And Second, how are we to gain audience with the King? I have great confidence in my skills and reliability but ..." again looking around at the group " ... who are all of you?"
"My name is Halfast Rootridge. I'm a priest and a sailor. Just don't call me Half." The halfling seems agitated about the last sentence.
Caya turns to Lirah, a worried look on her face. "Princess, I have a few questions for you. First, do you know if your father worships Tiamat or Bahamut? This isn't meant to sound... offensive but that way of thinking reminds me of Tiamat's followers. You could say I've met a few. Second, do you have a safe place to stay? We wouldn't want you getting into any trouble. Assuming your father would do anything to get you back, you would make a valuable hostage for the war's efforts. And lastly, you mentioned your father was insane. If he truly has lost his mind than he probably isn't fit to rule, doing more harm than good. Would you agree with that assesment?"

Lirah looks towards the gold dragonborn "No, he does not worship either god, even though this land is holy. This cellar is the safest place I know of, since nobody comes near these ruins anyways. And is dethroning my father really of your best interest? You have heard people get executed for dethroning the king, or bringing it up, and I'm not just saying this kingdom."

"But you aren't punishing us. That means you have some ambition, unfortunately."
Brightmoon steps forward and speaks up "Halfast, she appears to be the victim here, do you have suspicions otherwise? She seems to want us to help her father, not depose him."

"You are so right my young friend" Brightmoon says with a laugh.
Brightmoon turns to Mason "I am Brightmoon, adventurer and gatherer of information" He turns to Caya "and a follower of Erevan Ilesere."
He turns to the princess, "What is it exactly you would like us to do to help?"
"Just... talk to him... try to bring him to his senses. He may be able to stop this war"
"How would we get to him? Are you going to be our pass through the guards? I doubt his guardsman would let several unknown adventurers get close to him during this war"

"I'm 51." The halfling mutters something angrily under his breath.
Caya turns to Lirah. "If you aren't sure this cellar is safe, I could put you under the protection of the Linxakasendalor clan. If you bear a letter with my signet seal, they'll offer you refuge. Up to you." She smiles at the princess, happy to help a fellow dragonborn should the need arise.
"Right, the guards..." she sits there pondering for a moment "I have an idea. But do any of you know how to forge handwriting?"
What do you have in mind?
She takes out a letter, signed in very neat handwriting. "This was a letter from the leader of this city. I uh... borrowed... it... from him. You could use this to forge an invitation to meet the king."

She smiles back at you. "Thank you, but I'll just be resting here for now. This may not be the safest or cleanest place, but I've been hiding out here since I was a child. I'll be fine here for the moment, but I think later that will be safer."

"I'm only saying you haven't objected to an opportunity to get that power."
