Polly-as-Rhun gives a steely, intimidating look at the guard who dares to accuse him of forgery. He considers it beneath him to speak to the guard, however.
"I am grateful as always for your wisdom. Tell me more about what you know about the Five Relics of Chroma -- where they may be, how they might be found. I have actually run into a group of people who may be up to a worthy task such as this. I would be honored to pass this on to them."
Does the king seem... okay? When he talks about ending the war with the artifacts, does he seem to be acting differently than before when he was talking about letting everyone kill each other? (Wish I had dispel magic.)

Tuner stands by a bit flabbergasted, but when the guard approaches he gives the letter. When they are called out, he starts preparing his escape reaching out to the nearest of his new partners. When the king cools down the situation he listens, intrigued.
Do I know anything about these relics? (do they summon Tiamat to this plane for instance?) 10 (+5 if arcana, +3 if any other int check)
(ooc: @rkmobius what do you want dispel magic for? I have it, but casting it on the king without warning seems like a bad idea to me 😅)

(Arcana) The name sounds familiar to you, but you have no idea what they do or what they look like.

"Each of these five relics are found in each of the other five regions of DragonEye. As I said, each of the five have the spirit of an ancient dragon, each are one of the five chromatic dragon types; They are the Red Relic of Drinphinr in The Voheat, The Blue Relic of Ithios in Rhonorun, The Green Relic of Croled in Mistgrove, The Black Relic of Vuarjel in Aquabrook, and the White Relic of Arilla in Whitecap.
The exact location of these relics are unknown, not even the strongest of divination magic can find them."

"What do they do when combined, my king? How would they end this war?" Caya is a bit suspicious of the king's intentions, trying to tell if he's being truthful or not.
(Don't know if I should make an insight check, but I'll make one and if I wasn't supposed to just ignore it.) Insight: 19

He appears to be truthful on the outside, but he is definitely hiding something on the inside.
Polly-as-Rhun nods, and turns to the rest of the group, pretending to direct one of the "servants" to write down all of those.
To the king, he says, "if this is your will, and you wish them collected to end the war, I will see it done. If you would ease this group's path with a royal writ that I can give to them, granting them passage and aid in their quest, that would be most gracious of you."
What are the guards doing as the king speaks with the group? Are they hostile toward the group? Just suspicious? Malevolent?

They're just standing in their positions, inspecting your group. Definitely suspicious of you.

"Also your majesty, what clues are we do follow in order to find these items? Where do you get your information?"
"Also your majesty, what clues are we do follow in order to find these items? Where do you get your information?"
"There are not any clues besides what region they're located in, but the locals of the regions might know of where they could rest. This information is all part of our kingdom's history, so many people here know about the relics."
Polly tries to think if she's heard of anything like this in the history she's learned. She doesn't know much history and would defer to others who know best, but her mind can't help but go there.
History: 2
(And does he reply to Polly's question about him giving the group a royal writ or letter?)
Caya tries to recall anything from the history of her tribe that could help her. (History: 17)
She also says, "My king, do you know anything else about these relics? If they are that powerful, why has nobody found even one of them before?" She knows the information has been truthful so far, but she's worried about what he's hiding.
She eyes the guards suspiciously, examining their facial expressions as the king reveals this information. (Perception: 13)

You know that the Five Relics of Chroma can actually stop a calamity, but they're also powerful enough to start one.

The guards do not react much upon hearing this information, but you do see their eyes looking towards the king as if he just revealed a secret.
"Nobody has found even one for two reasons; 1st, they're hard to locate. 2nd, they each have a monstrosity guarding them, any artifact collector or brave travelers who found them have been killed by these monsters."
Caya sucks in a breath, knowing that though the king is being truthful in the fact that they could end a calamity, they also could start a calamity. "No mortal should hold so much power, my king. Forgive me, but... what exactly do you plan on doing with them? By ending the war, do you mean killing all who oppose you?" Caya didn't want to believe that of the king, but she knew he was hiding something. Could this be it? (Insight: 9)

"Of course not! I promised to help you and I will do so once we have the relics." He sounds truthful, but you cannot tell if he is lying.
