I'm going to be running a 2nd group through the little newbie One-Shot now that I've got a little experience under my belt. Please don't read the other thread if you'd like to play in this one.
Here's what I'm looking for:
Brand new players who have been watching videos, listening to podcasts, reading blogs, etc, related to D&D and are now excited to give it a shot for the first time. I would expect you to have done some basic research to know how to play, but anything you don't know we'll figure out together because I'm fairly new as well. If you have played more than once or twice before I'd respectfully ask you to let the brand new folks have this one.
Be able to post Once per Day MINIMUM.
Basic races only (nothing more exotic than Dragonborn). Any regular class is fine.
Overly flowery prose is not required. In fact, you might even say it's frowned upon. We don't need to read 2 paragraphs about the wind flowing through your hair. Not to say you can't get descriptive in your RP, just don't overdo it.
Proper spelling and grammar IS required! Sorry, personal pet peeve of mine. If you use certain words (such as: your, you're, their, there and they're) incorrectly I will give you disadvantage on all of your rolls in the next combat. (Not really, but still...)
Standard Array, no need to worry too much about items, I'll assume everyone has food and the basics, etc. Starting at level 1. I'd suggest finding a pregenerated character sheet and tweaking it for what you would like to play. I need a proper character sheet the way I run, so please host it on Google Drive (or equivalent, no shady sites, please) and PM me the link. If you're using a generator, make sure to equip things like your armor, otherwise your stats will be off.
Already have one player who I promised dibs to, Cuppyboat. Looking for 4 more players. Post your request and what race/class you want to play in this thread. First 4 to post get it, if you don't get a spot this time I'll try to give you dibs next time.
Sort of breaking your first request for only new players, but newbies are generally helped along by, at the very least, a more experienced healer in the group. Feel free to pass up my entry if you get four more folk together, but if you want a Cleric to help keep the new kids alive, I've got one on order.
Harmony grew up as a street urchin, ostensibly in the city the game starts in. Life was hard for an unwanted tiefling child, and she spent a lot of time roaming on the fringes of the other street children cliques, bouncing from one orphanage or beggar-house to the next. While sheltering at the church of Pelor, Harmony made friends with a young halfling priestess named Darleen. Darleen opened Hamony's eyes to the great works of Pelor and his charges of justice and charity. Over time, Harmony spent more time at the temple, eventually being taken in as a young acolyte, working hard to bring as much light and life into the world as she can.

I'm interested. If what you are looking for is people new to D&D 5E, I'm a good candidate. If what you are looking for is people new to ANY version of D&D, then I'm out :D
If you can clarify and I'm still good for your adventure, I would like to run my human monk or my human warrior.
(The Double Dragon Tavern in the town of Hambry is a place like many others. On this early evening, the Tavern is only about half full of your usual tradesmen, farmers and assorted other townspeople. Everyone is drinking and eating and generally having a good time. A young Half-Elf serving boy, Jack, floats around bringing everyone their food and ale.
The door opens and a young man enters. He appears to be a fighter of some sort, a Longsword sheathed across his back. The young man looks around, finds the table they are looking for and walks over to the table where a motley crew of adventurers sit, staring at him intently as he silently pulls up a chair and takes a seat. The table has a sign on it that reads ‘1st time adventurers meet here’.)
"Ah, splendid! It looks like you all made it!"
(The tavern owner, a rotund and jolly-looking fellow of about 40, appears at the side of the table, smiling and holding what appears to be an envelope.)
"My name is Armand, I am the owner of this fine establishment. Glad you all could make it. Your mutual friend has asked me to read this to you when you all arrived."
(He now opens it and takes out the enclosed letter. Unfolding it, he begins to read.)
Greetings, adventurers!
It is I, Craig, your friendly neighborhood shop keeper! You are all here because you all expressed interest in teaming up with other like-minded folks and going on adventures. I had all of your names on my LIST and I think all of you would be a good fit together. I hope I am correct. Take some time to get to know each other; I’m sure you’ll all become fast friends. Go forth and make your mark on the world!
Best of Luck!
Craig
(The assembled adventurers look around the table at each other. Armand takes a little bow as he backs away.)
"Oh, this IS a good-looking group. You'll do well, very well indeed. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you."
(The crew looks each other over and sits for a few moments, until one of them rises up and begins to speak...)
DM's Notes: Ok, folks, go ahead and introduce your character to each other and give a brief description about your appearance, etc. No need to give your whole backstory, just introduce your character as they would introduce themselves. Harmony, I don't think I'll be using the Campaign tool so we'll just keep it simple for now.
Cuppy is a little late getting me his sheet, if he doesn't do so soon I'll run it for just 4.
*I lean forward in my chair and grab my tankard off the table, from which I take an unhealthy sized swig. I then plant it back on the table with a little more 'oomph' than intended, slashing little bits of ale over my hands. I dry my hands against my deep purple cloak before using them to wipe the wet marks the ale left around my mouth, stopping momentarily to scratch the scar running from the left side of my mouth to my chin.*
"Names Lucius and that's all you'll be needing to know, for now."
"Well that's no fun!" The young teifling leans in, eyeing her mysterious companion teasingly. "My name is Harmony," she says, flashing an adorable smile to those gathered around the table, "and as you can probably tell, I'm a representative from the nearby temple of Pelor in Tifdin." She gestures to herself displaying her journeyman's priestly attire, the creams, browns, and pearls fitting well with the pinkish hues of her skin and hair. An almost infectious enthusiasm seems to radiate from her.
"Ahh, yes! I recognize that attire, Harmony. I, myself, was raised at a temple. Roscoe the Halfling is the name. Glad to meet you all." I said happily as I sit comfortably, waiting for something to happen.
The 40-something years old human seems to be really enjoying the situation. He is bald, with a black goatee and a pair of piercing black eyes. He is wearing a chain main and a long sword. You can notice how he passes the pages of a book meanwhile he speak.
"More, sire? No, no more. I assumed it was just a letter of introduction. I mean, lots of adventuring parties have found each other thru Craig's list. He's very good at making matches. Forgive me for being so bold, but I think he's done well bringing you 4 together. Very balanced, very balanced indeed. I mean, you have this gentleman here *points at Ravenath* who looks like a tough, rugged fighter. This *points at Harmony* adorable young Cleric can help keep you all alive. This *points at Roscoe* young monk, well, everyone knows monks can do incredible things with their fists. And you *points at Lucius*, well, you look like you could sneak up on a fellow and stab him in the back before he even knows what hit him!"
(Lucius glares at Armand, who looks a little worried now)
"With all respect, of course."
...
(Armand pretends like someone just called his name , putting his hand to his ear.)
"What was that? Coming! Please forgive me, a Tavern Owner's job is never done, you know."
(Armand rushes off to a back room.)
About 20 minutes pass as the new group starts to get acclimated to each other. Some are more social than others, but everyone seems to be loosening up just a little bit...
Suddenly, a large, red-headed man in a black leather apron bursts thru the door, his muscular arms bleeding from some pretty gnarly gashes. A look of panic and terror is on his face, which is dirty and starting to swell up and bruise. He looks like someone beat the hell out of him.
“Daisy!” he yells. “They got my Daisy!”
(He drops down to his knees and starts sobbing as the crowd starts to gather round.)
What do you do?
DM's notes: I guess Cuppy is out this time, it'll just be you 4.
Ravenath don't loose time. He jumps from the chair and goes outside, looking for something suspicious like Daisy screaming, or someone running with a package on his shoulder with the shape of Daisy. And he has drawn his sword.
*I knock my chair backwards as I rush to follow Ravenath out the door, stopping when I draw level to him. I place my right hand on my dagger and quickly look around.*

Cool, man :D
Hi,
I'm interested too. I've never done anything D&D before, so I would need people to just bear with me while I learn.
It's a newbie game after all. We are here to learn and to help anyone else to learn :)
Hey,
If there is a spot left, I would like to join. I was looking to play halfling monk or druid.
Ok, great, that’s 5. I’ll be PMing everyone soon, please get your character sheets in order.

I've got Harmony built out here in the DDB Character builder as well if you have a campaign link for me to attach her to.

"You, Armand, does the letter say anything else? I signed up for ADVENTURE, not for a chinwag at the tavern!"
((No, Half-Elf))
"Woah there. No need to be hasty. We're all just trying to get along." I turn to Harmony and whispered sarcastically "This is gonna be a fun one."
