Let's say I have an unusual race that becomes one of these lineages. Like a centaur, or a Goliath. I checked to see if there was any way to apply the lineage as described in the book to a centaur character in DnDBeyond, and you cannot. May I suggest that when you choose a lineage, it also asks for a "base" race in a drop-down menu, so that it can reflect details that should carry over? (such as natural weapons, movement restrictions, carry capacity, etc)
I hope that this is being taken into consideration by the D&D Beyond team working on the implementation of lineages. Features like a Satyr's Ram and Reveller/Mirthful Leaps or a Firbolg's Powerful Build and Speech of Beast and Leaf should be as valid as any flying speed or languages. As this thread points out, it would have made more sense from the Wizards team to treat the Lineages as add-ons to a base race rather than their own separate thing. Please don't make the solution "Oh, you can just homebrew a race" since that's not easy for everyone, nor is it efficient. Thank you, mods team!
Nevermind. Misread.
Lineages as written, you loose everything from your race but profs, languages, and movement
Which is a fair point of view. However, this does not change the fact that it doesn't make sense to lose certain features that a character would have by rolling a race such as a Satyr unless the explanation is that their horns fall off, they forget how to play a musical instrument, and their legs become human legs.
All I'm saying is that if I as a DM agree with my player that their loosing race features doesn't make sense from a logical point of view, then it would be nice to have a streamlined tool to allow us to re-add the race features from the original character race before a lineage comes into effect. I don't believe this is possible currently and I feel that CanonThought's suggestion was very good.
Realistically this isn't likely to be corrected this edition, because WotC would need to flag every single racial feature as either physically inherent, or cultural, and that isn't going to happen. It's not something DDB can decide to override them on. However, if DDB ever implement their "generic features" system it will be extremely easy to use that to fix this issue.
I expect a 5.5E or 6E will resolve this though.
The good part about this is that it's not static as a system so as books and so on get added, there'll be changes and improvements. Not familiar with the proposed 'generic features' system that you mention so I'll have to trust you on that. But it'd be much more preferable to be able to just add a race feature to a character like you have the possibility to customize feats, proficiencies, and other character aspects directly on the character sheet rather than to have to homebrew.
The current homebrew system is a bit unwieldy from my point of view so it always comes down to tons of trial and error in my case at least. Maybe those who have more experience and time to put into mastering its different aspects feel differently.
My main problem with these lineages as they are listed is they do not take into account any pre-existing race on the character sheets in the least. You could be a human, dwarf, elf, whatever, and it will NOT list that on the sheet. Then going back to the more extravagant races, the example given in the book is fine (replacing a Dragonborn breath weapon makes some sense). But as I said, it doesn't take into account natural weapons, larger creatures that lift more because of Powerful Build (which stems from their innate size, not a supernatural ability like a breath weapon), or limbs that provide alternate forms of mobility. Wings, four-hooves, gills, etc. Sure, you can list a speed, but you have to manually override that on the sheet, and it still does not allow you to alter the specific type of mobility.
As mentioned by another user before in this thread, becoming one of these lineages should not require you to ignore body parts as if they fell off.
All lineages seem to do functionally is override parts of a race, rather than act as a race by themselves, and should therefore NOT be listed or treated as separate races. They should be bonus options, much like Dark Gifts, Blessings, or other modifiers on top of a character. Even from a programming perspective, this makes much more sense as a bonus feature you can add to the sheet that can override all the elements it needs to while leaving behind others that need to stay on the sheet, such as the race of origin, and other features that shouldn't go away and are tied specifically to those races.
At this time, the way they are coded to interact with character sheets creates many hassles that require homebrew-creation knowledge to fix basic traits, and making it not worthwhile to manage the lineage on this website.

I'm not sure if I'm looking in the wrong place but one of my players want to be Reborn or a Dhampir. We both own the book but neither one of use can figure out hot to select the race. Is there something I'm missing?

Look under LIneages on the Race tab in the character builder.
Undead Warlock character sheet says immune to Frightened even though that only happens when using form of dread. I think it should be removed because at level 10 the sheet doesnt add immunity to necrotic automatically because that only happens when using form of dread as well.
The additional backdrops for Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft pre-order purchasers are now available! If you pre-ordered the book you can check your character sheet backdrop options for these new additions. Enjoy!
I made my hexblood druid already and it worked perfectly when creating it for the first time, but when creating them for my campaign as a DMPC everything went right except for whatever reason their racial Hex spell doesn't show up. I still get the Disguise Self spell just fine, but Hex just doesn't show up at all. It is an odd bug given that Hex shows up on my non-campaign-assigned character sheet, but not this one. Does anyone have any tips for this issue?
EDIT: I have figured out that I can go to the link and use my other character sheet that works fine, but I still think this could be looked into. For that reason (if necessary, I am not sure), I will keep the buggy character sheet up for now.

If you want it looked into, please post a link to the sheet
My apologies if this has already been covered, but I can't bring up the "Mist Traveler" background in character generation.
Also, this may have been covered already, but are we going to be able to enter the original race of damphirs? (Mine is a Rabbitfolk: I'm making the killer rabbit from Holy Grail!) I would like to have the skill boost and hopping abilities of my race of origin.
That is wild! It wasn't there this morning when I shared the link. Either it got fixed or something really weird happened that changed it. Very odd. Glad it is fixed, though!

For the first raised point: Mist Traveler is not a full background, but rather a General Background Feature. That means it will not be able to be selected by itself during character creation. However, there are multiple ways to implement this using the homebrew tools at your disposal!
As for the second point, it's been requested by a few people already, but this feedback will definitely be passed along!

Unless you want to homebrew it, this is not how the new linages are supposed to work. As per the Ancestral Legacy feature, the only features you get to keep from your past race, are your skill proficiencies and any flying/swimming/climbing speed your race might have had. All other racial features are replaced by the features of your chosen linage.
This is the RAW by WotC and DDB implements features as they are written. Nothing stops you from homebrewing it differently though.
I don't have any new backdrops from the Pre-Order, just the ones we got last week already, however, the article said there would be 9 more.
We're still putting the final touches on the additional character sheet backdrops and will alert everyone through our social channels when those have been added to our users' accounts.
I received the email saying that the pre-order perks were live, but I don't have them all (missing some of the themes and I believe one of the backdrops)

I have, I am fully synced 🤷♂️ any other suggestions?
No, only that the Features System that will make Dark Gifts possible is still in the works. When the new system goes live and Dark Gifts are readily available, D&D Beyond will be shouting it loudly from every social platform.
In the meantime, you can create private homebrew feats that grant the same function as Dark Gifts.

Is this the one where the hex spells don’t show up? I ask because I can see the under spells

Are you certain you're missing anything? You should have 6 themes and 15 backdrops.
Apparently it got updated. I do now have all themes and backdrops.
Has there been any update on integrating the dark gifts into the character sheet?
