I'm here to join in the chorus. The marketing on this product was misleading, and I'm very disappointed that it doesn't work with 2024 classes in the character builder. Why did I just spend so much money upgrading to a new edition if new content isn't compatible with it?
Beyond used a default template+1985 Games is working on a conversion, & it's their call, not Hasbro's, on when it comes out.
If they'd just avoided a default template, there wouldn't be as much of a ruckus.
I can view the races but none of the class information and it shows all my license are synced. Heck it shows me the races but won't even download the book on the app
The subclasses are currently available only on the 2014 classes. If you're using a 2024 class, you'll need to remove your current class and add the other one instead. Make sure both 2014 Core Rules and 1985 Games are enabled for that character.
So, getting caught up on this mess, and I don't know if this has changed since it was launched, but the marketplace listing for this says the following:
"While Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass is compatible with the 2024 Core Rulebooks, specific subclass options are limited to 2014 character classes on D&D Beyond."
I've checked and none of the subclass options work with 2024 characters still. Since that's the case, it shouldn't say "specific" it should say "all". So the listing is just explicitly lying about what works in D&D Beyond.
I just looked through the thread and no one has commented on the fact that the listing currently uses the verbiage, "specific subclass option", which implies that some of the subclasses should work with 2024, which they currently don't, which is false advertising.
It doesn't matter if a conversion is being worked on. The product /as it is being sold now/ does not work as advertised and I wanted to point that out to anyone new finding this thread that NONE of the subclass options work with 2024, even though the product listing currently says otherwise.
The default template isn't causing them to continue to have false advertisements on the marketplace listing. Until whatever needs fixing is fixed, they need to change what the listing says.
I am giving a straightforward answer to anyone that comes to this page to figure out why it doesn't work. It doesn't work because the listing is lying about the functionality. It doesn't matter if something is in the works to fix things eventually. This is only a problem because they are selling the product in a misleading way. If the listing was correct, then people wouldn't be trying to figure out why it's not working as advertised.
To put it another way, the bug I'd like to report is that the marketplace listing is not accurate to the functionality of the item (regardless of how the implementation was enacted) and it needs to reflect what is actually going on and should contain a disclaimer that updated functionality is coming but not yet active. Otherwise, people are going to continue being tricked into buying something under false pretenses.

The usage of "specific subclass options" is correct. The word specific could be left out and it wouldn't alter the meaning of the sentence, and perhaps they should have. But the word you're thinking of that states some work but not all is "select".
If we're gonna get into semantics, do it right. At least they have that message displayed.

I don’t know if this is the right place, however none of the books author’s notes sections are contained within their boxes and bleed into the surrounding writing. This is happening in the app and the site.

hay guy so, I just wanted to ask, will the 2024 classes be different from the 2014 classes? or will this just be an update?
That's something you'd have to ask 1985 Games.

If Beyond hadn't used a default Template, we wouldn't be in this mess.
Next time, before you post, check to see if someone else has answered this, please.

I addressed this.

The Boomerang Expert feat isn't properly adjusting the damage of an equipped boomerang. It should change it from a d6 to a d8.
Switched compared to what? The physical book?

This is a technical limitation, as noted in this thread's first post.

So are those subclasses ever going to be added to the 2024 rules or what? It's been weeks and it seems like nothing has been fixed.

Ah, my bad. Overlooked that! Thanks!
