Isn't this redundant with the LFG part of the forums?
Also as BadDM pointed out running games is not only fun, essentially straightforward, and accessible for anyone that even wiggles their toes in the direction of interest.
Players are literally a dime a dozen, DMs are the limiting factor, you are correct in pointing that out. But, this thread seems like a scheme plotted by players to rook in some newbie DMs to run for them because they are too lazy to commit to running for themselves.
As someone who recently started to DM in order to introduce this hobby to a group of friends, this sounds fantastic. I would love any opportunity to learn from a veteran DM.
Hey there, im interest in learning to be a DM, currently beeing playing dnd 5e for a couple of months but want to try dming for a new group. Ill be greatly appreciated for the help :)
I really hate this thread. This is more a "Players are unwilling to quit just being players and become a DM" scam than a "This is a program designed to make newer DMs better." There are way, way, way, way more people in this hobby that are dedicated "players" than there are people with the desire and will to run the game. This is the natural order of things. It has existed since they created the game (and all other RPGs followed suit). The poster that started this thread is just trying to subvert you into thinking that they can offer you something special. This is not true.
There is a secret: You just need a group of players willing to have fun with you.

I agree with you. This is totally unnecessary. Anyone who has a real interest in becoming a DM would just do it. Hell there is sooo much material out there to learn from beyond the actual core books for example. All they need to do is jump on youtube start searching, or even google. Any search engine will bring up results and a crap ton of them. Really though, people need to just get the books and read them and go from there. Far to many now days that need their hands held. Kinda sad really. Coming from someone who has been DMing games for near 35 years one thing is for sure. Its not for everyone. But if you want to do it, Just do it and stop waiting for someone to hold your hand.
awesome ill send you a link!
Thank you!
I am looking to start DMing games on PbP and IRL, can I have a link also: all advice welcome! :D
