I'm trying to scatter around pages of a diary for my party to find and I'd like to have them in handwriting other than a changed font in Word. Google's failed me and I was wondering if anyone had any method they used besides writing their own pages to accomplish this. Thanks!
I have a couple of specific fonts downloaded that I like to use to type into Word or in a graphics editor for making notes that look somewhat handwritten:
I usually prefer to use them to type the text into a graphics editor so that I can apply a few additional effects on top to make it look more legitimate as if it's written on a worn piece of parchment.
You can easily add and use google fonts on it, it's got detailed instructions on how to do it. It also gives you a variety of 'parchment' type paper to select for the background.
It's kind of good if you have a small note, you can just use the snipping tool to grab it off the generated writing. What's good about this is it mimics handwriting rather than trying to use a specific font.
Leave feedback if there's anything I can do to improve it.
Was just googling this to make a letter for my party to find, and this is *perfect* - just what I was looking for. Had all the features i needed - easy to edit text, download, add a picture, upload custom fonts. Very much appreciated!

Hey man just a quick heads up.
Replying to a thread that hasn’t been used for a long time, is generally referred to as Necromancy and is typically frowned upon.
But it is nice to know that the website is good :)
Necroposting isn't a faux pas if it brings relevant information back to the front. Not doing that is an old Internet tradition.
Something like this? I never saw the link and now have a new tool in my belt. As does everyone who's seeing this post resurface for the first time. The utility is worth the necro.

Haha yeah I'm aware of "necro"ing threads. I don't usually post here (came here from Google), so I wasn't sure how active of a forum this is, but figured 2 months back wasn't that far. (Looking now, I can see it's fairly fast-moving, but I'm on some forums where it's common for a thread to go weeks+ without posts). Plus, this is one of the results that comes up on search engines when you're looking for this kind of thing, and the person asked for feedback, so I wanted to let them and other visitors know "hey, this was pretty good :)".
So - I hear ya, I was aware, and didn't intend to revive a decrepit thread past its shelf life. Of course, ironically, maybe me replying is now accomplishing that all over again ;) But if it helps some DMs make a letter or note for their party, I guess it's all worth it

Huh, I suppose that’s true, it does work as a reminder of the whole handwriting handouts thing, which I think is really good actually!

No idea. Are you just looking at Word fonts and found them lacking, or have you considered downloading new fonts from a free font site?

This website has a lot of free-for-personal-use options:

I know this is an old thread, but as someone who has spent some time looking for this, I finally found the best solution:

I mean, there's Comic Sans.
I'm kidding.
DEATH TO COMIC SANS!
:)
When i make such handouts, i use fonts available in WORD that looks handwriting.
Why not just write them out yourself? Plenty of apps available on the phone that do this.

I created something to solve this exact problem during my campaigns. Hopefully, someone besides myself finds it useful.
