I really liked the layout and mechanics of the factions as shown in the Heroes of Faerun book, and want to adapt it to the Factions of Planescape. Are there any other examples of these mechanically fleshed out factions like in Heroes of Faerun (the levels of renown rewards and a bastion special facility), that people can point me to to use as examples? (Or, if I was truly blessed, some guidelines of how to design them?)
I mean, it's in a different format, but Sigil and the Outlands & Morte's Planar Parade have good deal of detail about the factions of the Planescape books. I'd even say that the version of faction info in SatO is slightly more digestible (at least for me). What in particular are you looking for?
If you're looking for additional info on Renown to make your own rewards and such pp.22-24 of the DMG (2014) and pp.92 of the DMG (2024) have info on Renown, how to gain it and how to use it.
Beyond that, if you're looking for Bastion benefits, I imagine they'll come down the line (assuming that WotC continue to bother with the 2024 edition).
The suggestions for renown rewards in the two DMGs are pretty vague and don't actually offer any guidance on, say, how *much* of a benefit, in any quantifiable terms. Likewise, SatO doesn't really go into what benefits the factions provide to PC members, at least not that I saw (admit I read it more for reference, a bit look up here and there, instead of reading straight through, I just can't read sourcebooks like that)

I mean, my suggestion really would be that it'll largely depend on the rest of the adventure. If the party are aligning with the Hands of Havoc for example, I'd start with offering unique weapons and armour for example. The Havok Flasks and Havoc Hammers seem like good things for the party to be able to purchase once they're trusted enough by the faction. You can get those item details from Hands of Havoc Fire Starter. Maybe another option would be that the Hands of Havoc would be willing to conceal crimes, or provide sanctuary again dependant on the renown with the faction.
Apologies that my original suggestion wasn't what you wanted, but to be honest I tend to prefer the more generic outlines which leave me as a worldbuilder to craft my table's version of the Harpers, or my version of similar factions. That said, there used to be Faction supplements on DMsGuild. A quick search through my bookmarks yielded this for the Sword Coast factions, maybe there's stuff you can borrow/steal and apply to the planescape factions? https://www.scribd.com/document/713571440/Guide-to-the-Five-Factions
Another couple of non-official resources - Tales of the Valiant's Gamemaster Guide has a lovely take on Factions and doesn't give explicit benefits but runs more toward the amount of assistance the faction is willing to lend to the PCs. I can't remember where I found this one either, but it's been sitting in my bookmarks for quite a while. May be of use? https://drive.google.com/file/d/15iVcPNtOM59qsdzxfW0HE9jzD6BNpWaP/view
I guess I was wondering if there mechanical rules, or guidelines on how much benefit something should grant, like how you can look up how much damage a level 7 feature should do on average, etc. thanks though!

DM session planning template - My version of maps for 'Lost Mine of Phandelver' - Send your party to The Circus - Other DM Resources - Maps, Tokens, Quests - 'Better' Player Character Injury Tables?
Actor, Writer, Director & Teacher by day - GM/DM in my off hours.
Ravinca also has factions, and various benefits PCs can earn for rising through the ranks.

Excellent, thanks you!
