Hi, Immaking a cleric subclass based on attacking with melee weapons. I want it to add wisdome to attacks and damage instead of streangt like the hexblade, But how do i do so it dont add streangth?
Not very saavy with dnd. But maybe make homebrew weapons with wis as the attack bonus. And then add the weapons to your character sheet. Not sure how to make it a class feature.
Cause so far, dndbeyond does not let you renove or modify class features. Only subclass ones.
You cannot you will have to list it as plain text and the player will have to individually adjust the numbers for the attack and damage modifiers for all of their weapons manually.
Might be a little late to this discussion but i found a way. If you add a modifier to the subclass feature of enable feature > enable hex weapon, and then another feature of replace weapon ability > (your score of choice) in modifier subtype and ability score. Finally you will need to create a new subclass feature that can be completely empty, named exactly "Hex Warrior", that you can then tick hide in builder and hide in sheet. Doing this allows for weapons you're proficient in to have a hex weapon box appear under it that will override the str/dex score with your chosen ability score.
If I am reading you right, you're saying I could make any weapon, like a longsword +2, that uses WIS instead of STR/DEX, by not modifying the magic item, but by creating two subclass features in a homebrew subclass? 1) enable "longsword" and 2) empty feature named "Hex Warrior"?
