Looking back at the Berserker barbarian, I know that it gets a lot of hate for having its primary subclass feature forcing a level of exhaustion to use. Recently, I wanted to play with tying the exhaustion mechanic to class abilities, and I thought it could tie really well (thematically speaking) to a Cleric subclass in the idea that clerics of this domain will choose to go without food or drink as part of their worship.
That being said, playing with exhaustion can be a mechanically messy, so I would love to hear some feedback. Im also not very experience with writing homebrew for Clerics, so if anything sticks out as really strange, let me know.

seems pretty good though why all about food and eating
For flavor, the fasting the clerics embark on could definitely go above and beyond food and drink, but I don't know if there's an elegant way to cover every possibility in the language for the feature. Abstaining from food and drink (or partaking of only small amounts) is arguably the most common form of fasting and works within D&D mechanics since going without food and water can result in saving throws that can give more levels of exhaustion.

Thank you for all of the feedback thus far. I have made some significant changes to the subclass since then, including the ever important domain spells, and would appreciate more feedback (since its a google doc the original link should take you to the subclass still).
Since I am a bit inexperienced in building cleric subclasses, I would especially appreciate feedback on the domain spells. Many of the ones I chose already come from the cleric spell list, but I found myself having a hard time picking spells which fit the subclass mechanically or thematically
