I want to make a dancing magical weapon that uses the user's charisma as the attack and damage modifier, with proficiency added to the attack roll if the user is proficient in Performance. Ideally this item would show up in the user's Attacks options with the proper bonuses calculated out, but I from what I understand DnDB doesn't handle this.
I've tried making it using an existing weapon as a basis, and I can customize it on the PC's sheet to get the attack modifier right, but there seems to be no way to override the damage modifier. All I can do is add a damage bonus, which doesn't help.
It seems like, at this point, all I can do is make a generic Wondrous Item and provide all the attack info in the description, and rely on the player to work it out.
There is no possible way to create a Magic weapon that uses Charisma as the relevant ability score for attack and damage, not is there a way to have the Performance skill affect it in any way.
Ok, so I made the weapon as a general Wondrous Item, and then made a feat to go along with it. The feat contains the attack action, which can be based off charisma for both the attack roll and damage. I don't seem to be able to add proficiency to the attack if the user is proficient with Performance, but I put in a note that the wielder can do that (by adding a customized attack bonus).
It would be nice if I could have the item grant access to the feat, but I don't see my custom feat in the Modifier options for the item.
Clunkier than I'd like but it works.
