I'm in the middle of making some Homebrew for a campaign setting, and let me tell you, there are like 4 of these subclasses that have their own active state thingies, like Barbarian Rage. The initial message by ImaSposta has been immensely helpful, I cannot overstate that
I don't see anything about this in the Spells section so I shall ask here;
You know how that new Circle of the Moon Druid Subclass has that red text in some of the spells it grants? How would I go about adding that red text to spells added through a homebrew subclass?
When adding the spell enter the text in the Additional Description box.

I am struggling with a feature when creating a new Species (Subspecies).
I used the 2024 Dragonborn as a base and created a Shadow Dragonborn.
I followed the advice in this post to edit the HTML spreadsheet under 'Draconic Ancestors' so that Shadow is listed and it looks correct.
My issue is that when creating a character with this species, when I am on the Species screen of the Character Builder, there is a Drop-Down to select the Draconic Ancestors, and although the edited list above the drop-down lists the Shadow option, Shadow is not an option inthe Drop-Down.
How do I edit the Draconic Ancestors Drop-Down so that Shadow is an option?
Sorry if this is outlined somewhere here, but I looked and couldn't find it.
Breathe, dragons; sing of the First World, forged out of chaos and painted with beauty. Sing of Bahamut, the Platinum, molding the shape of the mountains and rivers; Sing too of Chromatic Tiamat, painting all over the infinite canvas. Partnered, they woke in the darkness; partnered, they labored in acts of creation.
Under Draconic Ancestry you need to add it as an option in Options.
You'd also need to add the breath and resistance - edit those features and see how it is set up for the other options.

That worked perfectly, thank you!

I'm pretty sure it's in options, thats nearly the very first one, also an easier way may be to just base it off of another initiate feat, but to each their own.

It's problematic using MI feat as a template because that is made using background stuff we cannot use when homebrewing and will not function properly.

Okay, so I went through this thread with a keyword search for "replacement" so I could narrow things down, and I could not find any posts or responses related to what I am trying to do. Maybe I missed it, but I am going to ask anyway, at the risk of a redundant question to the community:
I am building a homebrew subclass that grants resistance at one of its early subclass feature levels, only to convert to immunity to the same damage type by the final subclass feature level. I have the resistance set as a granted feature (it is a "hidden" separate feat in the builder because there is one other things that the actual subclass feat grants as well), and thought it would just need to be "replaced" with another feature later that upgrades it to immunity (this later feature is also hidden and separate from the rest of the granted effects at that subclass level). However, the initial resistance is still showing in the block in the character sheet. I want the resistance to disappear when it converts to immunity in the character sheet.
I do A LOT of Homebrew, but this is the first time I am trying to get this to work correctly. Is there a way to do that, and if so, what am I missing?

Honestly, I had a feeling that was what I was going to learn, but I thought I would ask anyway. I will just continue to have both the Resistance and Immunity to the damage type in the 'Defenses' block on the character sheet, and have my eye twitch when I see it. Lol!
Cheers!

Hi, I want to create a sorcerer version of the 2024 Magic Initiate.
I know how to add the spells but how to I add the ability options and have them apply to the spells? (CHA, INT, WIS)
Is this possible? Thank you.
I'm pretty sure it's in options, thats nearly the very first one, also an easier way may be to just base it off of another initiate feat, but to each their own.
If you mean as a "choice" then you cannot. You would need to make a separate feat for each spellcasting ability (one for Int, one for Wis, etc).
When adding a spell to the feat a specific ability can be selected in the 'ability score' drop-down.
It's problematic using MI feat as a template because that is made using background stuff we cannot use when homebrewing and will not function properly.
