Heyo, I'm trying to create a homebrew spell and I'm trying fiddling with spell slots. I'm wondering how I could make it so the spell can affect 1 additional target for each slot above first, so at 2nd level it affects 2 targets instead of 1. Any help is appreciated.
Cheers and another question. I am creating a homebrew magic item that grants the user two spells of their choosing from the necromancy school, up too first level. The item has two charges, the spells don't consume spell slots and after the charges are used the spells are restricted. How would I do that? Would I add all the possible spells that can be selected then restrict the total number? If so how would I go about that?
Well everything works except for the choice for spells. What I want is for the player to select two spells that they cannot switch until they take a long rest. For example if they pick inflict wounds and cause fear, they cannot cast Ray of Sickness or False Life until they switch them out during a long rest. Is that even possible? Ty for helping.

Set it to “spell scale” and select “additional targets” as the higher level scaling.

You would set it up like this:
In the field I highlighted you would list every 1st-level Necromancy spell. Do that👆twice, and give it 2 charges. That should work.

You could just add an action and have them put a note of what two spells they have, and limit use the action to two times per long rest.
