I am new to dnd beyond and homebrew, so I'm sorry if this seems a little mundane. I am having problems adding homebrew items to my character. I am not the DM and we do not run our campaign through dnd beyond, so I am just using the character builder and source books on here. Do my characters have to be in a campaign on here in order to add a homebrew item, or I am doing something else wrong?
If a homebrew item you have made, you can always add it. Just ensure that homebrew is enabled on the Home page of the Character Builder.
If a homebrew item somebody else in your group has made you need to both be in the same campaign on here. You can then add their homebrew to your character that is in that campaign, as long as you have it enabled.
If the homebrew item is something you found in the public listings on here, you will need to have a Hero or Master tier subscription and can then "add" the homebrew to your collection which will make it available for your characters - as long as you have enabled homebrew on the character.
