When you put a bag of holding into another bag of holding, it whops the whole lot to the Astral Sea. With so many multiverses and so many adventurers, that's a lot of stuff adrift in the sea. So, like the Pacific Garbage Patch, it washes up on a gravitational vortex, and forms the Astral Sea Garbage Patch - a 200-mile wide region of the Astral Sea, filled with treasures, monsters, and opportunities to die!
The vortex forms 4 distinct regions - the Stoneways, the Splinter Reef, the Driftriver, and the Trinket Desert.
This 7-page spelljammer supplement includes:
3 civilisations
4 regions
lots of opportunities for monster encounters
lots of inspiration for bizarre consequences for pulling the old bag of holding in a bag of holding trick
I think it fits inspirational as it's not a defined encounter, per se, but a mini-setting to interject into your spelljammer games!
Once I've proofread it I'll probably start trying to do some art and expand on it as a proper supplement! But for now, let me know what you think!
Okay, here is my submission for the DM Category, a set of magic spell scrolls which I am putting under the umbrella of The Notes of Iggwilv. Each lost page acts as a spell scroll by itself, but has additional benefits and can be retained by adding to a spellbook
Lost Notes of Iggwilv
Scroll, Legendary
The Lost Pages of Iggwilv represent a series of magical notes kept by the archmage which were originally incorporated in the Demonomicon but were lost to time as the tome changed hands. These pages can be found together or individually. Each one can be used as a Spell Scroll, allowing the user to cast one of the spells listed for that page.
If you are a wizard, you can choose to attune to these pages. In doing so the page, along with any spells listed on it, is added to your spellbook after which point it ceases to function as a spell scroll. If any of the spells added this way are not normally on the wizard spell list, they count as wizard spells for you. When this page is added, your spellbook acts as an arcane focus and spells cast using it have a +1 bonus to your spell attack modifier and spell save DC. Other pages can be added to the spellbook in the same way; however, each page after the first does not use any additional attunement slots. For each additional page added to the spellbook, the bonus to spellcasting granted by the arcane focus increases by 1. Your attunement to any pages in your spellbook ends early if your spellbook is destroyed.
At the DM's discretion, you may be able to add these pages to a magical text of your choosing if you are not a wizard. For example, a pact of the tome warlock could be allowed to add these pages to their Book of Shadows. In such a case, the spells added count as belonging to the spell list of the relevant class.
Lost Page of Dolor
This page contains the mystical words of the Planar Binding spell. When this spell is cast using this scroll (or while it is added to your spellbook) the target must make a Charisma saving throw against the spell save DC each time you give it an order. On a failed save, it feels compelled to follow the spirit and intention of your order fully and cannot twist the wording to serve its own objectives.
Lost Page of Exaction
This page contains the mystical words of the Planar Ally spell. When this spell is cast using this scroll (or while it is added to your spellbook), the payment given to the summoned entity is half its normal value. For example, a task that can be measured in minutes would require a payment of 50 GP/minute under normal circumstances instead of 100 GP/minute.
Lost Page of Minimus Containment
This page contains the mystical words of the Soul Cage spell. When this spell is cast using this scroll (or while it is added to your spellbook), you can target aberrations, celestials, elementals, feys, or fiends in addition to humanoids. While holding a non-humanoid soul, once within the spell’s duration you may cast one of the following spells which summons a creature of the same type as the target: Summon Aberration, Summon Celestial, Summon Elemental, Summon Fey, or Summon Fiend. When cast this way, the spell is treated as being cast at 6th level and does not require concentration. Casting the spell this way releases the target’s soul and ends the effect of the Soul Cage spell.
Lost Page of Torment
This page contains the mystical words of the following spells: Cause Fear, Command, Phantasmal Force, Phantasmal Killer, and Suggestion. If you speak the True Name of a non-humanoid creature targeted when one of these spells is cast using this scroll (or while it is added to your spellbook), the target has disadvantage on the first saving throw it makes against the spell’s effect. While such a creature is affected by one of these spells, you can use a bonus action on each of your turns to speak its True Name again, causing it to have disadvantage on the next saving throw it makes to end the spell’s effect early.
Okay, I also came up with something for the Inspirational Option. This is a small table which represent some mishaps that can occur when a spelljamming vessel accelerates to its cruising speed. The effects are inspired by (but only loosely based on) the consequences of general relativity.
Spelljamming Mishaps
A spelljamming ship’s cruising speed is over 400,000 miles per hour. Beyond how impressive achieving this speed is, many scholars and sages alike have noted the strange, magical interactions such vessels have with the Astral Plane that can occur when achieving this speed. Some observers will claim that such a ship appears to squish and contract before disappearing into the distance. Others have shared stories of how astral adventurers would return from expeditions after decades or longer and yet not appear to have aged a day.
As an optional rule, each time the party begins to travel at the cruising speed on a spelljammer ship the DM may elect to roll a d20. On a roll of “1” on the d20, roll a d6 and consult the table below to see which of the following effects occurs. The magical interaction with Astral Space causes the effect to persist until the ship spends at least 1d10 minutes without moving.
d6
Mishap Effect
1
Nothing Happens
2
Length Contraction: The spelljamming vessel, and all creatures and objects on board of it, are treated as if affected by the reducing effect of the Enlarge/Reduce spell.
3
Time Dilation: For the duration, any creatures on board of the spelljamming vessel cease to age.
4
Red Shift: For the duration, the area around and within the spelljammer vessel is treated as being under the Extreme Heat condition. Once a creature succeeds on a saving throw against this condition, they become immune to its effect for the duration.
5
Blue Shift: For the duration, the area around and within the spelljammer vessel is treated as being under the Extreme Cold condition. Once a creature succeeds on a saving throw against this condition, they become immune to its effect for the duration.
6
Energy Conversion: The spelljamming vessel takes 6d8 force damage (ignoring the damage threshold) as pieces of it are torn away by the arcane forces surrounding astral space. Once during the duration, a crewmember can use their action to harness this lost mass to create a beam of arcane energy that bursts forth from the ship in a line that is 5 feet wide and 120 feet long. Any creature or object within the area must succeed a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take force damage equal to the damage taken by the ship.
The Spelljamming Mishaps table is awesome! Mishaps are one of the things I was really upset about the original bundle not having, and your table is great!

Of course, our mind flayer gives us a statblock of their deity :-D Good statblock and cool abilities (although in some cases you could write a little bit cleaner and more WoTC-like, such as capitalizing abilities used for saving throws and always writing out "saving throw" instead of "save"; also gave me some new inspiration for my statblock of Sardior (who is another pinnacle of psionics).
Also, I think you should read its Extend Tentril ability again...
I know it is not intended, but it made me laugh hideously...
And here is my DM option: Juiblex, the Faceless Lord, demon lord of Shedaklah, the 222nd layer of the abyss, also known as the "sewer of the abyss". Be warned, you should only click the link if your stomach is empty :-D
Made a few updates to the statblock, such as making Engulf its own action rather than a part of Whelm.
Also made a few minor updates to my player submission, the Pact Primeval Warlock: https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-NDABMKStP-ArCqZA-eu The changes were mostly related to typos and improving wording, I also fixed an oversight where I had allowed one to use Born to Negotiate with a warlock spell cast using any spell slot, including those picked up with a multiclass into, for example, Sorcerer - my intention was of course to limit this feature to spell cast with Warlock spell slots only, otherwise it would have been quite broken :-D
By the way, my warlock pact boon Pact of the Harbinger (which I considered submitting as an alternative to my Pact Primeval warlock subclass) got mentioned in an article on Wargamer: https://www.wargamer.com/dnd/nazgul-warlock-patron-homebrew

Yes, that's what I meant. For some reason I always end up not writing what I was trying to say when I'm talking about deadlines. Lol.

Maybe for the next Inspirational category theme we should pick something more generic. Not to be rude but making space-related content is a mixed bag because not only are there already rules for it, but besides the obvious Psi Warrior with a sun blade, not much of D&D can be ported directly into space.

i think that's fair, you're not being rude. while it's not a bad category, it might have been better as a DM or Player category, as there's more freedom there. Inspirational is probably the hardest one though, so no shade on the category pickers ;)

That's a good idea, but there hasn't been much success with any of the themes for inspirational. For the entire history of CotFB, inspirational options have gotten 1-2 submissions, sometimes even 0. Honestly, I think it might be a good idea to either remove it and allow things like dungeons, adventures, and so on for DM option, or boarded in the category to include both what's currently inspirational option but also include other things.
Both the links are PC option entries. Unless you're only allowed to enter one, in which case I guess it's just the first link.
Edit: reread the rules. The entry is just the first link.
