I'm having trouble creating a custom weapon my DM gifted me in D&DB. It's a blaster pistol but none of the pistols in the Weapon list match the stats of mine. I've tried using an existing pistol but I can't adjust the stats under Customize.
Yeah I wish their system allowed you to build them from the ground up such as selecting damage, classifications (2h, versatile...), etc, putting it as a basic item not magical. I've tried to use the copy existing and modifying, but it just doesn't always work.
Did you try making it as a magic item in homebrew? I think that might be the only way. what are the stats, maybe someone can help out
Edit: Or from your character sheet go to Actions and then Manage Custom. I think you might be able to do a custom action that will do what you want. Just name it Blaster Pistol. Make sure to check the Proficient box (I assume you are proficient) and Display as Attack box.

Yeah, Customizing a weapon doesn’t give much flexibility unfortunately. A custom action (not customizing a weapon) has a bit more. You can select the die type and how many etc. But making it a homebrew magic item might be the a good way as well.
What's the details on the custom weapon? Refer to this comment on another thread I made about custom weapons:
I created a magic item based on each of the different damage dice possible on dndbeyond. Look through these and pay attention to the notes at the bottom to see all the different changes that had to be made to get these work. Each one is based on a different martial or firearms weapon.
You won't be able to turn a melee weapon into a ranged weapon and vice versa, but if you have notes in the text to explain what to keep in mind and what to ignore, that's the best you can do.
I really wish they added custom weapons, because I need to make a weapon, for a custom race I'm building, and it's nothing close to anything in there. I'll probably just customize a sword or something.
