Hello I am trying to add a modifier to one of my homebrew subclasses that sets the Dexterity score to 15. But somhow It doesn't work. Am I missing something?
I tried various other stuff with it as well the only option that works is creating a bonus which then increases the characters Dex to fifteen but then its a bonus so an increase or decrease in dexterity is going to change this, which is not what I want. I am tryng to simulate the wererats Dexterity boost.
It’s because you’re “setting” the score to Dex and you’re setting it to 15 so it’s confusing the system. Remove DEX from the Ability Score field. Keep in mind that’ll only Set it to 15 as long as the original score is lower than that. If it’s higher the system will use the higher value.
I think I found out what is the problem... adding stuff just doesn't work at all idk why but even if I add a resistance or idk a stacking bonus nothing changes... I recreated the entire subclass (I am trying to create a subclass for the Bloodhunter). Which is weird cause if i delete smth it gets deleted but If i add the same thing again nothing gets added. for example deleting the piercing resistance worked but after adding it again I didn't get it back. After testing that and adding bunch of it while deleting other stuff, I basicly had no boni or so anymore so I recreated the subclass, now I have the Subclass how i want it to be but my character lost the things I deleted while not getting the stuff I added. So I think modifiers at all just don't work.
Ok so I read the whole thing about subclasses, and after checking every thing couple of times, I don't think I got anything wrong. I also added acid resictance at the same place the Set-dex modifier was, It worked perfectly fine... which is weird cause yesterday it didn't. After that I deleted acid resistance, and nothing changed my character still has Acid resistence every time he transforms now. So maybe beyond needs time or smth? But since my Set-dex modifier was there longer than the acid mod and nothing happened idk whats wrong with it... I am going to try aplying a bonus to my dex now and change that if I ever gonna increase my Dex stat or smth, but If that doesn't work I am just gonna do it manually each time I transform.
I didn’t say to read the Subclasses & Species FAQ at all, I said to read the General Homebrew FAQ #6:
6. I have created something in the homebrewer, or altered a previous creation, but it is not updating in the character builder or on the character sheet. How do I fix it?
Whenever you add anything to, change anything on, or remove anything from any homebrew, you MUST re-save the entire project using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information or the system will not pick up your changes. After that it can sometimes take up to 20 minutes for those changes to push through to the character builder/sheet.
6-A. Why does it take so long to update?
The various parts of this website are all hosted on “siloed” servers, meaning a network of separate servers all working together. Each of those servers has its own data cache, and some things cache in your browser. The delay time is due to the information having to push through the various caches to get from the content builder to the character builder.
6-B. It still isn’t working!?!
You may have to “wake up” your character sheet to force it to update its cache. Add and remove Inspiration or equipment and refresh the browser page. If the homebrew in question is a feat or magic item, remove it, refresh the page and then add it back to the character.
As I said I already Waited for over a night... I still have it in the Subclass, it is still not applying, I refreshed the page multiple times, clicked on save more times than I could count added and subtracted the subclass already over 5 times etc. so yh that is not changing a thing. I lost hope, I don't think anything is wrong its just not working... you can try it yourself. Just create a bloodhunter level 3 and create a subclass order of the lycanthrope, go to the class features and add the set dex or whichever stat you want. If It works with you I have no idea what to do anymore, but its not working with me so ima use a Bonus modifier now.
